  1. Neat! on Geocities To Be Made Available As a 900GB Torrent · · Score: 2, Funny

I'm ALWAYS looking for ways to make my ISP hate me!

Or, maybe not me... how about my neighbor with the unsecured wireless?

  2. Unexpected on Taco Bell Programming · · Score: 3, Interesting

Unexpected comparison of trained coders / developers, many with certifications and degrees, to untrained sub-GED Taco Bell employee... well... frankly, knuckle-draggers.

Also, I don't care if your code is minimal and profitable, if it gives me a sore stomach as Taco Bell does, I'm opting for something more complex and just... better. Better for me, better for everyone.

I get the appeal of promoting minimalistic coding styles with food concepts, and it's a refreshing change from the raggedy car analogies... but come on. Taco Bell? Really??

  3. Re:The industry can take all the time it needs on WD Launches 3 Terabyte HD · · Score: 1

Since start-to-finish projects only come in sub-terabyte levels, a single 1.6TB LTO4 tape holds that specific project nicely for around $120.

It's more of an archive, than a backup, as others have mentioned. I feel I can trust my Raid to hold recordings and masters for about a month, which is usually all it takes to finish it up.

  4. Re:The industry can take all the time it needs on WD Launches 3 Terabyte HD · · Score: 4, Insightful

Good for you. In the last year, I've put about 8.5 TB into my house (without a single torrent) and I could use another 3 TB. Running a small recording studio digitally has it's upsides and downsides.

A 5x 3TB Raid 6 sounds just about right for a nice 9TB assembly. (And yes, I know, Raid isn't a backup, there's tapes for that.)

I'm such a whore for those two games in particular, I'd buy 'em. (Assuming the graphics were updated, and updated ONLY the graphics. We don't want "gameplay improvements" tyvm.)

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the fact that PSXeven + some ISO's pulled from my FFVI and VII discs make the games themselves playable on any computer I'll own for a long, long time. But let's face it, FFVII is farking DISGUSTINGLY UGLY at 1600x1200. Argh.

Yes, yes they DID. I received my free one as selected through the iPhone app just a few weeks ago. Fortunately for me, Squaretrade.com ALSO sent me a free case, and I liked theirs better so I stuck with it. Glad I did, too.

Actually, Apple provided these cases to many iPhone 4 users, free of charge, to fix the antenna issue.

You better believe that Apple is afraid of being liable for providing cases to users that destroy the device.
