    Maybe, but it ain't going to help in an MRI scanner. Whoever said that simply does not understand where the noise in an MRI scanner comes from.

  5. The easy way to get third party countries to block stolen IMEI's would be for the USA/EU and a few others to get together and simply announce they will stop accepting inbound calls from such networks from say six months from now. Watch them scramble to start the blocking.

    Except if everything is not converted to iron-56 there is more heat to be extracted from the universe and by definition the heat death has not been reached.

    World gold production for 2017 was 3150 metric tons. Basically bring back a single ton (aka 1000 kg) or $42 million USD would have a negligible impact on world gold prices. You would need to bring hundreds of tons back to have a significant impact on prices.

    What physics reasons are these? I suspect you are getting confused with the fact that iron-56 is the most stable element going, However out the the ten most abundant elements in the Milky Way galaxy, carbon is number four and iron only number six. Even in the solar system carbon is significantly more abundant than iron.

    Now when we have reached the heat death of the universe it will all be iron-56, but that is many trillions of years away.

    Except the airflow in at least a Model S is really poor in the trunk, ot the point where even with the air con going your dog is going to at best have a very unpleasant time in the back, along with any kids in the optional trunk seats. See the Rich Rebuilds video on this.

    HiDPI screens are like the difference between a dot matrix and a laser printer. If you are happy with a dot matrix that is fine, but personally I prefer a laser and a HiDPI screen too.

    Just because you have a civil case with settlement does not get you out of criminal charges from the state. T-mobile are not able to vacate criminal charges by settling a civil case, it just does not work like that.

    Now it might be pretty crappy tech to steal. However my guess is that the US are using it because they are 100% certain they can make it stick (Huawei have basically already admitted to it) and the Trump administration want convictions to bolster their cause.

    I am no Trump supported but I would demand from China an immediate end to the 51% locally owned stunt they pull with the option for any American company previously forced into such an arrangement the option to buy themselves out, otherwise the USA will enforce the reciprocal on Chinese companies.

    There was me thinking that the US constitution allowed the president to pardon people. So Trump is right in saying he can use her as a pawn, because it is pretty clear she is guilty, which via the mechanism of a pardon gives Trump the leverage needed to use her as a pawn.

    Thing is a nice dyke across the Pentland Firth could extract enough tidal energy to power the whole of Scotland, and be utterly predictable as to it's output. Just stick in some additional pumped storage (plenty of capacity for that in Scotland) and we would be sorted. Now sure that dyke is going to cost, but they want 30 billion GBP for a nuclear power station with less capacity.

    Problem is that the greater the speed in an accident the more likely someone is to be seriously injured or killed. Further the *PUBLIC* roads are just that a shared public resource.

    Your rights to go as fast as you want stop at my nose.

    Get back to me when you are a happy for killing someone in an accident to be treated as murder.

    In the meantime speeding is a crime, and speed cameras only punish those who choose to recklessly endanger other people for their convenience and/or pleasure.

    That depends somewhat on the farmer. That farm shop cheese made on the farm I brought before Christmas must be a figment of my imagination then? Then again I am not in the USA, but I find it hard to believe that no farmers in the USA make cheese.

    Noting that you get beef in the EU that originates outside the EU, you just don't get beef pumped full of hormones. Similarly you get chicken that is from outside the EU. It;s just not slaughtered in such disgustingly horrible conditions that the only way to make it safe to eat is wash it in chlorine.

    The USA is free anytime to export these products to the EU, they just have to be produced in line with EU standards. It is a totally reasonable expectation.

    It's no different from banning imports of toys painted with lead paint.

    The irony of this all is that Sony got into the content business because the existing content business screwed over DAT by refusing to release content for it.

    The idea was that the hardware division could use it's financial muscle to buy a content producer and then it could guarantee content on it's new hardware platforms.

    However it appears we just ended up with the tail wagging the dog :-(

    Thing is for at least two decades hard drives where sold in binary capacities rather than decimal. Then they decided to change hard drives and the cynical among us know this is simply to inflate the perceived capacity.

    I would contrast this to RAM which is still sold in binary capacities. The 3TB servers we brought last year at work come with 3*2^40 bytes of RAM not 3e12 bytes of RAM.

    But Trump was very clear on numerous occasions that Mexico was going to pay for the wall. Consequently he has no electoral mandate for getting USA tax payers to pay for the wall. Heck at the last set of elections he lost control of the House so one could argue legitimately there is an electoral mandate to oppose him trying to get USA tax payers to pay for the wall. a break from his election promise of 2016.
