I'm looking to get into HAM radios. What would you recommend for a radio?

A story gets posted that claims something is the world's biggest or smallest and within 3 minutes tehre are 15 posts claiming the submitter is wrong and that $some_better_thing is actually bigger or smaller.
Yeah but who do you think Tivo passes it's costs of to? The customer. You bought a livetime subscription? Too bad, $32 is a lot of money, so you pay $2 a month to cover it.
If this was 1999, I'd agree with ya, but in this crappy job market/economy, the employers have all the cards and if you don't like it, you can go look for an IT job with the 1000's of others.
Gah. I hate that my alma maters think tehy have a right to send me credit card apps and to call me for money. I'm not a rich billionaire who has nothing to do with all his money.
I still have my loans, I am unemployed. The colleges have helped ZERO percent with contacts and networking, but hey they both claim a 97% job placement rate.
well if you have a house with no doors and windows and people can come and go as they please, the police aren't going to buy your "They stole my stuff" excuse. Same goes for sharing files.

The EU? The same EU that has as memebers Italy, Germany and France? Good Luck!

In my experience, no.
What do you define as independent? My market ( Johsntown/StateCollege/Altoona has a news radio station that isn't owned by one of the big guys.
I do it three times a week. It's the only way I can keep up, being on a 56k dialup.
Yeah that's what I want to do do, give my money to the State to use interest free.
Has anyone gotten the settlement money from the CD lawsuit? I'm still waiting....
Are you saying that there is more to beer than alcohol, sugar, yeast and hops (etc)?

Jackson actually doesn't own his music. is LABEL does.
That's pretty funny. That's like a drug dealer saying that you can't tell the police that he's selling on the street corner.
Well maybe.....
But I don't like coffee and I gave up caffeine 2 years ago.
Gah.

How do you define advertsing?
Microsoft's lack of open standards with stuff it develops?
No, you're thinking of Futurama.
Cheney was the head of Halliburton, not Enron or Worldcom. Come on, if you are going to grasp for straws at least make an good attempt.
And please explain how any of this is treason????
Yep,and I am using 1.5b (20030716) so it doesn't seem to be fixed in the latest incarnation.
So when the Bush twins were busted for underage drinking, that was because they were, what?
Even though SOME think so, Enron and Worldcom are not government programs.
Actually according to this http://news.com.com/2100-1023-252449.html?legacy=c net
Ebay bought the consumer website and Google bought everything else, including the deja.com name.
Try going to the store and buying them.
