You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, and are just ranting through your Apple hatred glasses. I have an iPad and I get real work done on it every day. For example just today, I gave a 50 page presentation using my iPad. And a few weeks ago, I was giving a presentation to about 100 people. and right before I went on, I was still editing my presentation, right on my iPad. I am also able to get my work email and calendar, so, I have the ability to do most communication tasks I would do on my desktop. Plus, in a pinch, I can turn on VPN in to the work network, and run VNC, and do some tasks there. Also, since the iPad is so small I take it everywhere, and I have the 3G model, so I can almost do all of my work from anywhere at anytime. Recently there was an issue with one of the applications I manage, and I wasn't home, and all I had to do was take out my iPad, connect, and I was able to fix the issue with just the iPad.
The Dell does not come with a monitor, the iMac has a 20" screen, and according to Dell's site the monitor will add 290 to the price, for a grand total of 1389, almost $200 more than the iMac. Granted the Dell is slightly more powerful, and has more space, but the cost is not what you say.
I am not defending DRM or anything, but, according to Wikipedia (which links to the apple docs) you can have purchased iTunes tracks on an unlimited number of ipods
i can prove the image is fake, they wrote the name as 'iPod Flash', with an uppercase F. But, shortly after the iPod photo came out, Apple changed the name of the 'iPod Photo', to 'iPod photo' . I doubt apple would release something that, when they recently enforced their new naming convention.
I really wish that apple would add the ability to record high quality audio to the iPod. Displaying photos seems like an odd tangent for a music device, whereas recording audio is a natural addition to an audio device.
I have to say, that I am a mac user, and I bought the original 5g ipod, but, now the features of the ipod are wearing thin. I really like the iRiver h340, but there is no mac support. The iPod is pretty much the only game in town if you own a mac, which is disappointing.
For any of you on Long Island, the Huntington Cinema Arts Centre is playing seasons one and two on the big screen. I don't know of any other place playing it in a movie theater, so if you are a fan, you should go see it.
Actually, you can identify a person based upon their writing style. Just like handwriting, everyone speaks, and writes in their own unique way.
I saw a case on CourtTv where someone's daughter allegedly committed suicide. The mother's proof was the note written in her daughter's hand. However, by analyzing the mother's writings, the forensic document examiner was able to tell that the mother wrote, and subsequently dictated the 'suicide' note to her daughter, and forced her to write it down. The mother then killed the daughter. So, it is possible to identify a person based solely on their writing style.
I have had the misfortune of working with several members of 2600, including their leader Emmanuel Goldstein (Eric Corley). From my experience with them, they are full of self importance, and, a lot of the times ignorance. For the most part, you do not want to argue with them, because they are so stubborn, and, they feel they are the pinnacle of technical knowlege. Even if you tried arguing that 1+1=2, when they say 1+1=3, there is no way to win. I could go on and on, however, this probably will be modded into oblivion, so, there really is no point.
How dare you insult Falco, and compare 'Rock Me Amadeus' to the 'Macarena'. Have you actually listened to Falco??
Unlike the Macarena people, Falco has made a lot of albums, and they are actually good. Maybe you should have compared the Macarena to something like The Power Station's 'Some Like it Hot'.
Yes, all barcodes are printed in 2D space, but the 2D moniker does not mean how it is printed.
Traditional barcodes have information encoded only in one dimension. Technically you could print a barcode in 'one dimension', however, it would be very difficult to scan. The height is only there to facilitate scanning. That is why they can be called 1D barcodes.
2D barcodes, on the other hand, have information encoded in 2 directions. That is why instead of lines they use squares.
In the past, anyone who needed to use the tty system had to own a piece of hardware to communicate to the relay, however, now with internet based relay calls, they only need to access a computer hooked up to the net. I think the requirement for specialized hardware is the key to ending the abuse of the system. My idea would be to use a device, where the relay gives you code, and then you input it into the device, and it spits out a response. This would still keep the calls anonymous, but, would add a level of security to stop the scammers.
I am pretty sure, that all pawn shops can only buy items, from someone with an id, and they then, must log that. Isn't ebgames essentially a pawn shop in that respect, since they buy items from the general public?
Regarding Bacardi 151, I was recently in Puerto Rico, and i wanted to bring home a cheap bottle of 151 from the bacardi factory. During the tour, they mentioned that 151 is illegal to bring on planes, and, in the shop, there were warning signs, saying the same, placed around the shelf holding the 151. Plus, the bottle itself had warnings that it was illegal to bring on a plane. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed.
The default text editor that comes with OSX, TextEdit, does a great job for simple documents. It has spell checking, adjustable margins and tab stops, plus support for inline images, and multiple fonts. And, it saves the documents in RTF, which any capable word processor can read.
I think with all the hoopla surrounding the G5, people overlooked the fact that the G5's are coming with the Apple Keyboard (the one with the usb ports in the back) and the Apple Mouse (no click pressure control). I find it strange that their G5's come with lesser keyboards and mice than the still available G4 towers.
I was going to email you this, but, since you have no email addy displayed, I am posting it here. Feel free to email me if you want to discuss this more.
No, I am not in Europe, I live in the United States. I buy the european cds because they often come out months ahead of the US releases. And, since i dj, i need to keep on top of the music
It is not just major labels that are using copy protection, but some indie labels are resorting to this user hostile tactic.
I bought a cd by the synthpop group de/vision last summer, and when I got it home, I found out it was copy protected. I then quickly returned it to the store. I also took the liberty of writing the band and the label to see why they were resorting to this tactic.
I politely told them, that the cd i purchased would not work in my pioneer cdj-100's, which is a pro dj cd player. I also asked why they would want to alienate the same people that essentially advertise their music. Well, after a few emails, they ended it with this:
[sic]thank you
enjoy your coutry , enjoy your law
and support the dying of bands
good bye
You can read the entire conversation at copyproofcds.org , which is a site i made to rant about copy protection.
Where did you get this information from, I just tried it on my machine, and any url with the port 3689 just comes up blank. Files dont get downloaded, nothing happens. Maybe you should verify things before posting.
The first time I saw this phone, i noticed the horrible button layout. What would possess a company to release a product that has a different button layout thant 99% of all phones. Also, this layout is not demonstrably faster or more convenient. It's too bad, because I would seriously consider this phone, were not it for the poor layout. I. got a T68is instead.
I am surprised noone has said this, but arent regular, unlisted phone numbers essentially obfuscating who you are calling ? If you have no phone directory, the numbers are meaningless. However, you can guess the approximate location by the area code and exchange. But, that information doesnt always match up with what it should be, due to things such as number portability and such.

Apple is making iTunes for windows, and they say it should be out by the end of the year. Macrumors.com has an article about iTunes for windows.

I think the bar with the green indicators is monitoring the microphone, and is measuring ambient noise.

OS X icons are not vector images, they are a collection of 128x128, 64x64, and 32x32 bitmaps. The smooth scaling is just regular old bitmap scaling.
