    You can cheaply get a hold of Win 7 Home from Microsoft for about 50 bucks. It's only an upgrade version, but I found that you can install it on a blank hard drive with no problems. You only need a student E-Mail address to buy it, and pretty much everyone I know has a TAFE email address or something similar because they hand them out to everybody who does the shortest courses...

    This is probably what they planned all along. I mean really... If they were in such trouble and couldn't afford to keep running they would have just started charging. At least this way by saying "we're closing down because we can't afford to run" they got people to offer to pay without pissing too many people off by suddenly becoming a paid service.

    I run the website for a local newspaper and the major part of our website is the subscription archive system. I got a bit excited when I first read the title because lately I've noticed that more people have been using iPads and iPhones to access the site. Then I read the article. 40% of advertising revenue and 30% of subscription fees to go to Apple? That's bloody ridiculous!

    Thanks for screwing so many people over Microsoft. Too many people are using XP to just drop support for it. Only just got my boss to approve an upgrade to Adobe CS5, and now I have to ask for an upgrade to windows 7 so that I can make sure our website is ie9 ready. This is should be great fun!

    Why couldn't she have just used an actual damn dictionary? All exams I've been to we were allowed to bring in nothing but pens, pencils and a calculator. Maybe they should ban everything except pre-approved calculators. I don't see why they can't approve a small range of different ones that are in different price ranges.

    Microwaves suck. I just recently bought a combination microwave/convection oven and it's much better than a microwave (although not as fast) and still faster than using the regular gas oven and gets pretty similar results.

    I get New Zealand 20c and 10c coins all the time. It doesn't bother me at all, because all shops will take them anyway. Once I did get one coin that was the same size as a 10c coin, I think it was a peso or something like that. How stingy do people have to be to glue 2 10c coins together and use it as a dollar, geez it's only a dollar it's not like it's some huge sum of money that you just can't afford to spend...
