Samsung Blackjack with 3G... too bad they haven't implemented 3G in the Twin Cities. So I'm on EDGE.
The first two times I tried loading the page I got to 34KB and my phone stopped loading, so I reset it and now it hangs at 33KB. I have had nothing but problems with this POS and I'm very close to just out right paying AT&T the 200 to get off my contract and go elsewhere. Although I have no qualms about blaming it on AT&T's shoddy network.
Tried loading the page after killing all apps, gets to 152KB after loading for 25 seconds and hangs (gave up after 5 minutes)
Pretty much how it works. I have personally made a 1300 mile trip from point A to B (not going to say, because I don't want "them" finding out about it) via car in just under 18 hours. Now, driving the 'speed limit' it should take 21 hours. And that's not including gas stops. My car was pretty gas efficient (35+) with a 17 gallon tank, so I'd make 500 miles before the gas light came on. This was with one other driver. And we were willing to drive... 'efficiently' to get to our destination. Fill up 3 times. Bring only water. Switch every four hours. Easy.
Not saying I'd ever want to do this in the case of an emergency. I prepare for this trip by not ingesting caffeine in any form for three weeks prior to get it out of my system. That way I can get in the zone and cruise along.
3 friends equipped with Wiimotes and one copy of Mario Strikers: Charged will increase your Wii time by 10 fold. Game is insanely fun. A lightning level that zaps the ball, and all around it, keeps you on your toes. ("Gha! Get away, it's gonna get hit!!"). Daisy hitting the electric fence is always funny. There is a fire level with fireballs raining down upon the field constantly. There is a storm stage where the wind can blow players off the board (and cows and tractors across it!!!).
It really is massive fun. Not hard for anyone to learn, either. Give it a rent and you'll see.
I'm with you. I never enjoyed MK64 near as much as SMK or even MKDD. SMK is the king and could only benefit from a higher framerate. Just to make it act smoother. But for it's day, it's the best. We'll see what they do with MKWii...
If America would allow the use of breeding reactors... we might get somewhere. And stop burning coal. What a waste... Of course, I'd much rather see the power of nature harnessed as much as possible (wind, solar, tidal power), but in some places that just can't work.
Patrick Stuart is one of the world's greatest actors bar none. Even in voice. I don't care how long he was type-cast as Picard (which was an excellent role) he's always going to be top notch. The only real problem is that he'll never be a teen idol, so he'll not be able to bank on super-popularity. But your Tom Cruises, Matt Damons, and even Chuck Norris have no acting ability next to Stuart.
Anything that Patrick Stuart lends a hand or voice to, is always going to be that much better on his account.
That's actually a pretty good question. Normally I hold my phone and iPod by the sides, which for me is more natural. Which isn't to say that I don't ever hold the back of these devices. I'm at work and can't access the YouTube, but from TFA it sounds as if this will be a rather awkward device. It's got a camera on the back to track the movements of your fingers.
And the researchers are talking about using the light blocking properties of your fingers to track 'fat finger movement' or some similar idea. Which means they haven't done any real homework. I don't know a lot about this stuff, and for what's on the market right now it sounds like these guys have a neat idea, but are going about it in a most amateur way.
Haven't people been using IR sensors for touch in tables and the like since the mid-90s? (maybe not these guys, but I remember reading the tech has been around for that long)
Literally. I've always called SSB the ultimate king of the hill experience. It's a fighter, true and proper. I think the definition of fighter is getting blurred by buttons and combo systems. Any game where the point is to beat up one other guy with your fists, and everyone shares the same camera, is going to be a fighter.
Au contrair!!! Perfect Dark must be re-made. All it needs is 60fps on any mode and it is the best shooter of all time, hands down. And up. Network play would be cool, but not necessary. (half the fun is hiding from the 'screen look') And no, Perfect Dark: Zero is not an alternative. That game was just bad..
Perma-death does suck, and I was never a fan, but it really forces you to get to know the game. If a designer insists upon perma-death, they dang well better make the game worth it. I loved Steel Battalion. But it really takes a few hours of play every time if you want to get past the fourth mission. Horribly frustrating at times, but totally worth going back to over and over.
Plenty of times. Independent artists abound. All over town here in the Twin Cities. Doesn't they're ever going to make it big or not. And yeah, some of them suck. But I'd rather support them then a label. My favorite band distributes through A Different Drum. It's a label too, but they give the artists a lot more control over their music. And give them a slightly bigger audience and presence. Labels don't have to be evil. And Bruce Dickinson doesn't need to be in every studio.
I don't know. I think Jude 1:7, 2 Peter 2, Romans 1 24-27 all cover it pretty well. Homosexuality is sin just as fornication is sin. But, hey, we all screw up in one manner or another. And nobody, I repeat that nobody should support a believer's (or unbeliever's) acts of sin. At the same time we should totally support them as believers and lift them up in any way possible. Jesus came to save, not to condemn. He didn't condemn the woman caught in the act of adultery, he forgave her. So, yes. Sin is sin. But God made the way through his Son. Covers ALL sin. Forgives ALL sin. Even the ones we will more than likely be guilt of in the future, it covers!
I was pretty well condemned by my church for having said that at one time I enjoyed watching Pokemon. I think I was 18 at the time, but I really did enjoy the stupid hilarity of the program. It taught some life-lessons and was more or less non-violent in that nobody every died, they just konked out for a while.
The reason for the pitchforks? TSR had been bought the company that printed the Pokemon card game WotC. TSR makes D&D. D&D is evil. Now Pokemon is evil... I wasn't too thrilled. I went straight to the pastor's wife, the woman who cooked all this up, or read about it somewhere, and explained to her that some things just aren't evil. Even D&D. They may be strange and have side-effects that are not limited to, but do include declining grooming ability in many cases...
Basically there was a long drawn out conversation between me, the new Christian in town, and the older 'wiser' woman of God. After all that she finally understood that people are smart enough to know the difference between real an make-believe. Mr. Rogers taught me well, but this woman apparently missed the lesson. She got it after a while. Yes, it's just a TV show/game/movie.
I see what you mean now. I remember the first (and only) time I read through all the law and thought it was/is a heavy burden. Just made me sigh with more relief for Grace.
I've been involved in small churches and larger "super" churches. It's pretty hard to find a faith-based organization that's in it for the money. They're definitely around, but they're not everyone. Should a pastor drive a Porsche? That's not my concern as long as that pastor is always on-target with his faith and keeping his church 'in-line'. Accountability reciprocates, and always should.
But every one of these churches uses their resources very responsibly. They send aid all over the world (even the little ones, churches with 100 members of lower class people flying in to Mexico to help build orphanages).
The Church wasn't to be founded on Peter himself, but on his revelation that Jesus is the Christ the son of the living God [Matthew 16:16-17]. Meaning that the Church is everyone who believes that, no the catholics, not the Lutherans, but everyone.
Church organizations are built for the sole purpose of uniting community. Making a place for believers to fellowship. They get bigger, they need administration, and accountability. They also serve as a place for all those alms to be put to the most responsible uses. And, hopefully, this is all done in harmony. Which isn't ever the case because we're all human alike.
I'm pretty well aware of the likelihood that Moses did not pen the Pentateuch, it makes no sense that he could. And it also seems most likely that when it was 'found' it was penned after the captivity during the reconstruction of Babylon. But either way, I believe what it says is true. I think C.S. Lewis put it pretty well when he said, "No man who could write the Bible would, and no man who would write the Bible could." I haven't studied it to extensively but I do try to keep up with it.
My question is what is your bridge to trying to justify homosexuality when it is called an abomination (Old and New Testament)? Far as wikka itself goes, I don't know enough about that, but I'm willing to bet that it falls under false gods and/or witch craft. Just my two cents.
My friends and I often have nights like this and a few have been church-sponsored. Halo, Mario Kart... whatever, as long as the game isn't too racy for the people holding the controllers (and the situation) then it's usually a non-issue. My pastor plays Halo on occasion. If he were against it, I'd still play because I know it's just fine with God. At the same time I'd respect the pastor's wishes and not bring it to the youth-oriented events. The article is just some guy trying to be a sensationalist. Blowing something out of proportion for a buck.
PS. Some people might take it the wrong way, but when you've got Jesus, the 12 disciples, both Mary's and Lazarus running around a Halo multiplayer map, hilarity always ensues. We got the idea from the Penny Arcade (can't link, behind websence..).
For better or worse I crush everyone locally, so they don't really enjoy playing against me directly.
I thought that the auto-handicap was pretty good at fixing that problem. If you're good enough it'll get the truly bad, or new, players so powered up that only a couple of hits will knock you off any stage. Usually keeps things even. I'm looking forward to using Pit, Solid Snake, Ike, and Zero Suit Samus to beat Wario and team marshmallow (Kirby, Jigglypuff, and I'll include Meta-Knight) into collective pulps.
Either way, you're relying on that tower to stay standing for at least the first part of your adventure down the track, might as well build up some speed before you hit the independent part. Zip lines can break a lot easier than metal rails (would make sense to me, anyway). I read the article and it doesn't say which system is faster, so I'm going with the roller coaster of actual terror.
That's why I'm a big fan of Jimmy John's. They give out free smells. No need to worry if your sandwich's scent reaches the nostrils of a coworker. I think JJ's knows that they'll make more money with a good reputation than suing everyone who catches a whiff of a #9 on wheat.
Car damage hasn't ever been a real problem for me. Yeah, cars get busted up when you hit stuff, but when I play GT I'm usually doing the 'real' racing. Not like in other racing games where you nudge a guy into a wall to gain the edge. I like GT for the tuning and the physics. I've been considering Forza 2, but I really did not like the first one.
Their software-emulated back compat 60GB versions in the US are software back-compat. So if they're saying these are specifically not, it's either a PR move to keep people from complaining when it doesn't work 100% of the time, or they're just not implementing it at all.
Yet another bullet in the foot? That's the only real reason I would be tempted to get a PS3 besides the prospect of Gran Turismo 5. The idea of playing some PS2 games with the full-screen AA and possibly faster loads would be rather nice. Sony should really have held off on this model until after they had a bigger library. There are some descent games on the PS3 right now, but not enough exclusive content for a non-back-compat version to be feasible. Wait for MGS4, GT5, and at least GTA4 (exclusive or not, it'll help). But that's just my opinion.

Probably just a /. UID. I hope the poor guy (or girl) logs on while this is still on the games page.

Does that mean that my email box is now going to be flooded with ways to get to the moon?
