You could always buy the white and use some glossy black paint to make your own black DS. Heck, if you have a friend with an airbrush, I'm sure it'd look great if the guy knows what he's doing. Black model paint tends to be pretty resiliant and even if it does chip it's very easy to touch up. Go wild MrSquirrel, go wild.
How is this not television? I read TFA and there's really no information. So as far as I can tell, it's just radio that lets you watch their commercials? Can someone clarify if this isn't just radio plus advertisements you can see? Is there a/.er that has or has seen this?
I'm sure this is a readily disablable feature. Personally, I'll have mine off when I'm not using it. The exception is if I'm downloading something that I planned on downloading (like a game). I just don't trust my computers and such to be online when I'm not looking.
Good call. Very good. But with the roster you'd need texture updates for player's faces (not that I'd care). And any uniform changes would require more textures.. Buy you're right. That should be made available. Besides, I don't know anyone who doesn't turn off Madden's voice first thing. So sound updates wouldn't be neccesary.
We're talking about the difference in cash flow needed. I'm trying to say that it's more expensive to play MMORGPs than just buying 4-6 games a year (sometimes more). The reason being that you don't need to pay extra subscription fees for internet. Either way you've got a computer or console, either way you're keeping yourself alive. They don't factor in. You need internet to play WoW (whether you pay for it, or hop on an unknowing neighbor's wireless connection). You don't need internet for normal games, well, hopefully they work out of the box.
Simple breakdown:
MMORPG $ = Startup + Game Subscription + Internet connection Others $ = Startup
I'm just saying that you are paying for it in some way. Perhaps you have roommates, you're in a dorm, it's "included" in your rent or you just live in your parents' basement. You're paying for it somehow. Maybe it's just a cut, maybe it's part of a home business. But if any portion of that connection goes to an MMORPG, then you could consider it part of the cost. Even if it is pennys.
That isn't a fair comparison. You need internet to play WoW. What does that cost? 20/month for Dialup ($120/year). But a real WoW enthusiest couldn't handle that kind of lag (though many do). So you get some broadband action. Let's see, w/o a phone line, DSL is 65 bucks through OSDN ($780/year). I've seen some "deals" with Roadrunner in my area for 45/month for broadband, but it has to come in a package with cable and phone. So that makes it 85/month! without phone and cable (which I don't use) ($1020).
Hope that puts it a little more in perspective. This is also why I don't have broadband or even dial-up (which still runs 55/mo with phone fees).
I don't think Sega intentionally pissed off EA. I think EA was just envious that Sega could make some amazing sports games. NFL 2k and 2k1 still play better than most football games I've gotten my hands on in the past few years. I've got a buddy that buys Madden every year (now on 360) for the updated roster. But even he says the DC games were better.
A lot of choices, a lot of possibilities. But it still came down to: "Do you kill your sister or not." Oops... spoiler.
I'd like to see a game that let's you play through the original and let you use your orginal charecter, even if he is god-like. Kind of like with Baldur's Gate.
Another thing I'd like to see is weapons that make a difference. In Fable you used the katana or the hammer because they did the most damage. That was basically it. Adding powers to weapons was nice too.
The game was far too short. I tried to complete as much of the game as possible, but that didn't seem worth it. Another gripe I had was the 'attractiveness' attribute. I didn't like the fact that if I thought my charecter looked cool in white leather, and he was a good guy that every person in town asked you to marry them. It got so annoying I had to slaughter whole cities for some peace and quiet!
I've always just put the keyboard on my lap and had the mouse on the speaker next to my couch, but an end table would be just as suitable. Then again, I don't do a lot of PC gaming from my couch these days.
I admit they had a nice idea, but I wouldn't pay more than 20 bucks for the clamshell device, maybe $50 if it came with the keyboard. But it still looks extremely uncofortable for mousing. You could probably use one third to a half of the board for the mouse (reasable use). And the keyboard would be find for the left hand, but completely akward for the right. But, with FPS's, it might be somewhat of a boon.
Not likely. FFXI was the MMORGP and if they sequel it, then it's going to be more than a month. Though I do wonder if they'll port it to all the new platforms seeing as it's on PS2, 360, and the PC. Now that a Nintendo system will offer mass-storage (not too much, but enough for an expansion or two). It'd be pretty cool to see a true cross-platform FF game. It makes me genuinely wonder which version would sell more copies (PC, Wii, 360, PS3). I'm thinking PC becuase it's got the biggest userbase.
Right, but you have to hang upside-down to fry that baby and use the computer at the same time... you know, like Batman! Have fun!
Suppose you could be "Mac"man... but I somehow doubt that a guy in tights with a rainbow colored apple on his chest is going to stop any criminals in their tracks.
Belay that newbie comment, if you would. I'm overriding the unneccissary explination by invoking another/. convention... over-rhetoric answers to obvious problems.
True, your # may be an order of magnitude or two less than mine, but I've been around for a while.
I used to work for UPS for the same reasons. Those trucks are packed so there's almost not wasted space. Sometimes not enough room is left for a few extra microbes the way we needed to shove stuff in there. I still use UPS too. Like the parent poster said, however, everything is handled rather rough, which is okay for most computers because they've got pleanty of shock-proof styrofoam.
Granted, they will take care to make sure your small, fragile looking packages sit on top, this doesn't mean a lot because they don't always end up on top. We didn't try to damage anything, but we didn't care either. *shrugs*
I don't have any links, but a few manufacturers attempted to heed the calls of people who wanted to play their LPs on the road. None were sucesseful for a few reasons. Suspension tech was pretty bad and the roads were worse. There was no way to have a record play continuously over anything but perfect driving conditions. Applying more force on the arm broke needls over the bumps and occationally damaged the vinyl.
Wasn't aware of that, thanks! Well, your post was definately more back up for your original post. And agrees with mine. The point being that most (well, now all) the games the OP stated he loved weren't originaly (or ever) Genisis titles.
Henhouses definately need these. If you've ever met a farmer who keeps hens after a fox or wolf got in, they're piping mad! They'd do anything to get rid of them varments. I imagine a laser powerful enough to ignite a missle through a metal sleeve, plus insulation would do a number on a fox they he won't soon forget!
Had a similar day dream after Halo 2 came out. I spent all night playing through the game on a 42" Hi-def with surround. I was at a friends house and it was a two hour drive home the next evening. While I was on the freeway I was having day dreams (the kind that take over your conciousness completely) that I was in the tank and I was blowing up all the Warthogs on the road. Once I realized that my head was indeed NOT a turret, I snapped too, pulled off the freeway and got some coffee.
Actaully Final Fight and Bad Dudes existed in the arcade first. I have vivid memories of playing Bad Dudes at the local skating rink with my brother. Then jumping up and down a few months later when we saw it in Nintendo Power. You know, back when NP had something worthwhile to write about every month!
And Final Fight was ported to SNES, but I believe it was a PC Engine title over in Japan. I know Final Fight 2 is on NEO-GEO and a friend of mine claims it's just short of a 10 on his scale.
PacMan was no less a classic for it's shallow plot, nor Tetris less addictive.
I beg to differ, good Sir Xenocide2. Don't you even try to tell me Tetris didn't have a plot. Blocks were falling on the world, and the only way to stop them was to fire Space Shuttle randomly into space. Either that or the game's point was to get a bunch of people dancing.
You're right. I think I've got it mixed up with the episode of News Radio when Phil Hartman's charecter eats the who knows how old sandwich from a vending machine.

Otherwise it's just MTV without the 'V'.

Or like buying it with a credit card... but this way you actually pay for it... unless the deposit's on a credit card. ...yeah.

Heck ya! Native american protagonist. Spirit mode. Futuristic levels. Lot's of portals. What more could you want?

Please see Family guy episode #211 Mr. Griffon Goes to Washington if you don't understand the joke.
Yeah, the street name for that hormon is Testosterone.
