Same happened to me:-/ I created an account in either late 98 or early 99 (too much happened in the last dozen years to be sure), forgot what my login/pwd were, so I recreated this one with my massive UID. It was still fun at the anniversary party to have a 'low uid' though. Lots of 7 digit UIDs in the Ann Arbor area.
Consumer ISPs will just charge you an extra 2.99 per device to have a true router (behind their nat) so they can sell 8000 people 192.168.0.2, etc, etc.
Cores often share cache. Separate CPUs rarely do. The problem in this case is, when you approach 48 Cores in 1 CPU, the accounting task for the cache users starts growing out of proportion to the performance gain from adding cores.
I'm guessing they have some algorithm that has blacklisted terms that the highest use patterns involve offensive material searches, regardless of the non offensive implications. Because they don't control their result ordering, these terms could provide offensive material in the future (or rather, are more likely to).
All said and done, put me down in the `meh, doesn't bother me` camp though. I still hit enter with this due to the momentary lag between when I finish typing and the results showing up (slow internet connection).
SAP ? I've had to work on a few SAP Business One installs that had Tomcat along for the ride (for some of the reporting services maybe?), and I know they offer linux clients for their higher end products.
As the author of most of the information on the hostapd page on wireless.k.o, I can tell you that, up until recently, most of that information was changing on a weekly basis. Now that 2.6.29 has landed, the documentation will start to firm up quickly. I figured I had at least another week to finish the hostapd docs. While the documentation included with hostapd is good, it's too much. There are like 200 options that only a handful of people would even need to consider in it.
The Linksys WRVS4400N Router (a distinctly post Cisco acquisition product), violates the GPL in that it distributes a binary only U-Boot, and the sources for it are not available. In this case, I believe the board maker(Star Semiconductors), are also in violation, as the people at Linksys I e-mailed said that they were only provided with a binary of it by Star Semi. But in either case, I have a router that I have all the source for, except the source for the binary only Marvell TopDog Wireless Card, and the U-Boot bootloader. I have contacted the U-Boot project to notify them of this, and hopefully they get on board in this.
And proftpd supports using mysql (and others I'm sure) for all of these parameters. At one point I had written a simple (read, not nice) little UI for managing users where they'd log into a webpage, then it'd assign a temporary login for them that was expired once they were idle for some time. I still have my proftpd config lying around, but it's not hard with basic SQL skills to set up on your own.
This may seem like a stupid, trivial, and pointless project, but the programmer may have gained something from it that he could use later in something you don't feel that way about. If the programmer enjoyed doing it, that might have lead to a more productive coding session later in the day too.
And don't forget Coherent, which I believe was also Microsoft Xenix rebranded. On an aside, I still have Xenix and Coherent install discs around here somewhere.

multi level NAT will brake alot of stuff!

Unless it was a decimalhex bug... 10 hex = 16 dec , 2016 IS a leap year.
But what about the $0.50 worth of petrified coffee?
Nationwide 3g Coverage is like a cookie. You may not want or need it, but it's always nice to have it offered to you.

He sure was a pinball wizard. Wonder if had an uncle. I knew this guy once who had an uncle named Ernie... That guy fiddled about a lot.
DRAT! It was California... they're really close to each other[1], so I probably just got confused by the geography...

Virginia?
(Guessing before googling)

It reminded me of a BOFH (which was a play on the godfather)
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2003/12/15/the_bofhfather_part_one/
upon further review, it's not that close, but it's been a year or two since I read that one... Time to get back on it.
great BOFH reference. 10KV across the nipples... those EMTs sure know how to party.
*clickity clickity*
Yeah, but we partied til at least 12.
While it was a hit to your karma, the 'redundant' mod just adds to the humor of your post
Halo 3 : 5 Hours @ $12 an hour = $60
GO-Carts: $5 per ride, 10 Minutes Per Ride, $30 an hour, 2 hours = $60
Did said person enjoy 5 hours of halo 3 more than they'd have enjoyed 2 hours on a go-cart?
I've been using go-carts as my baseline for whether something is worth it or not for a few years now.

Quantum Mechanics vs Law.... Only one of them makes sense in the real world, and it isn't law.....

I thought it was Natalie Portman with the Laser attached to her head.
I don't have a degree in English, but I dabble in it on a daily basis...
I believe point number 'b' was that people would use the free alternative rather than buy a developer license.
