Yah it happened to me too... ever since I installed iTunes 5 which came with the final version of QT7. It's fucking really damn annoying. QT7 is horrible.
Yah, it was pretty much a horrible summary. My guess is _am99_ couldn't keep his cock in his pants and posted that as soon as the ipod was announced, which was the first of 3 or 4 somewhat major announcements. Luckily the slashdot editors are lazy bastards and didn't go out and see if anything else was announced. I think frontrow is a lot more interesting than the stupid iPod video... wow I can watch video on a 2.5" screen, that's so amazing.... ho hum..:P
Just from the title, it sounds like he's saying the system is going to suck. No, not so.... the only disapointment that's going to come of it is the lack of quantity early on. But I thought that's what all these expensive ass "bundles" were supposed to be about, so that only people who really really wanted one would be able to afford it. Frankly it pisses me off because you know the people selling them are set to make a ton of money. And I can already imagine how much they're going to go for on eBay.
I really want a 360 but I'm not willing to pay $800 for one... who knows how long I will have to wait. Oh well..
I'm sure that the relevance math involves some complicated formulas, but simply determining a "match" is simple. Does the document contain the search terms? Yes or no. Google finds more results. That leads me to conclude they have more pages indexed.
This belongs in the "no shit, sherlock" department. Of course it's going to be last - Nintendo always is these days. Not that I think it matters that much, but, I mean, who was not anticipating this announcement?
That made me laugh:) Everytime I help my mom with her computer, I explain you only need to single click anything on a web page. This has been going on for over 5 years and I still have to tell her everytime, and even then she usually forgets by the end of the "session" or whatever. It's so freaking irritating.
Maybe if they got their good writers back, ya know, the ones that left after season 8 or so, it could actually be a good movie. But, if it's anything like the last 7 seasons, it's going to be pure diarhea.
Actually, that's not true at all. What apple wants is for developers to not be lazy and just put a bunch of options in the right-click menu. Apple wants developers to actually design good interfaces and the only way they can ensure that is by shipping one button mice by default, because that way the devs know that most users only have one button. I hate one button mice as well but I do think this is a good idea, and jesus, if you care so much about it but can't spare an extra 10 bucks for a decent two button mouse like the MS explorer, you're just pathetic.
I dont mean to be an ASS but HD's are incredibly cheap and you're saying you can't afford one? You can get an 80 gig drive for 58 dollars, and a good one at that. I almost want to send you my extra 60 gig drive I have just lying around because I feel sorry for you.:)
Surely, that's the only reason I can think of for why they would post such rubbish.:) This review was fucking horrible and anything BUT detailed. I mean if the Ars Technica review didn't exist, then maybe it would be ok (but still not detailed), but COME ON PEOPLE, there's just no way you can follow up to the Ars review, whether or not you claim yours is detailed.
I dont know why someone would actually take the time to try and do that when if they wanted to go the illegal route, it's no problem to download every ROM every made from your P2P network of choice and use it with the many emulators that are freely available.
The bill's supporters in Congress won passage of the prison terms by gluing them to an unrelated proposal to legalize technologies that delete offensive content from a film
GOD DAMNIT! That is so sneaky and under the rug. Do you know how much horrible crap gets passed this way? Lots! This is just another example. (Note: too lazy to look up previous examples but I have heard about it numerous times). WHAT THE FUCK is wrong with the god damn congress? The only way they can get this underhanded bullshit passed is to hide it in a bill that seems to be totally unrelated. And we all know how many congressman fully read every bill that they vote on... *COUGH* NOT MANY *COUGH*...
Fuck that... it pisses me off pretty much more than anything. How many of them would have voted for these prison terms, had they known thta was actually what they were voting for? This should seriously be illegal, to do something like that. Those mother fuckers:P
As to how I feel about the actual bill is totally unrelated to this crap. I do think it's too harsh by a longshot, but I do understand the need to really crack down on pre-release leaks, because I think that those could actually affect the revenue of a movie to some degree. But they have to pull this horse crap to get it passed. Assholes.
When I'm writing music, I don't want to have to worry about keeping the platform going, just like your fedEx guy doesn't want to worry about his truck.
I'm sorry, but did you just pull that out of your ass, or is it some social meme or inside joke I'm not aware of? It just sounded extremely random:)
I dont know what you do for a living, but I make web pages, and god damn if IE isn't the biggest piece of non-standards-compliant horseshit browser I've ever had the displease of dealing with. As someone else who replied to you said, you don't see too many problems when browsing the web with IE because us lowly developers have lost countless hours and hair follicles figuring why the FUCK internet exploder is rendering our beautifully coded pure-CSS site like it was a big pile of steaming crap. So yes, it is obvious. IE renders CSS like your mom gives head - HORRIBLY.
this is what happens when you let an American write English humour. The writer clearly had no concept of what made that scene funny - in his mind, it was a joke about not being able to find something. The dialogue simpoly went over his head.
Or MAYBE, since it's a MOVIE, they don't have time to be true to the dialogue throughout the entire book. If they did that, the movie would be damn 10 hours long and un-released. You honestly think the joke you're quoting could really "go over someone's head"? It's not like it's a complicated or deep joke. It's funny for sure, I love the whole series of books, but you have to understand you just do NOT have time for that kind of dialogue throughout the entire movie. I'm sure there are plenty of scenes that are quite true to the original book. This just happens to be one that's not.:P
I agree that's a slick looking site. I didnt even know camino was still being developed:P Looking at the screenshots there's lots of improvements since I last saw it (0.7), but on the Mac side, Safari does everything I need. Sorry:P
I mainly use Firefox on Windows anyways (as my main browsing experience). Good to see this baby still in development though. I remember how excited I got back in the 0.1 and 0.2 days everytime a new release came out:)
That's interesting, except that oh wait, it's total bullshit. (except maybe on the newest ipods). Older ipods and all of apple's laptops battery life is severely over estimated. I have a 700mhz ibook whose battery was rated for 5 hours, I *never* got more than three hours, even with it sitting idle (yes, I did test that), and the battery totally died after two years. I also have the original ipod. At first it *almost* got the rated 8 hours of life. But after about 6 months it was 5-6 hours, now I'm lucky to get 2.
There's this site called NowTowns that's based in Corvallis, Oregon, which is where I live. It's pretty cool, they have photos of almost every business that's on their site (inside and out), full restaurant menus with photos of the items and prices and thigns like that. I dont know if they're planning on expanding or not but I imagine they'd at least want to go to Portland eventually.
Local sites just can't be that cool, unless they're ACTUALLY local, which is why I think NowTowns is kinda neat. It only caters to one city currently (as far as I know anywys), so they have content that no other "local" site could dream of matching (google, yahoo, a9, etc).

Holy crap, that's really cool :D Very neat idea.

someone put up a torrent link :P

This is what I have to say to everyone here today.
Mozilla has done a good job of giving most of the about:config options very obvious names in regards to what they do and affect.

What, are you joking? You can honestly sit there and tell me that you dont believe this country is run by corporations? You are very naive my friend.
