I agree a revision system would be very handy, so they could quickly read just the changes. More than that though, Rider bills are the biggest piece of political bullshit I've ever heard of. These need to be made illegal ASAP. (But of course they won't). If something is not popular enough to pass on its own, why the hell should you be able to hide it in another bill that you're sure will pass? Fuck that. I hate fucking politics.
Jesus, you didnt even mention that the new "mac books" are intel based! Which is obviously the biggest news... and half your summary is a quote from steve jobs about how many ipods they've sold... no one cares! Give us the news that matters:P
Things just aint made like they used to be;) Ive been burning CD's for over 5 years now and have only had maybe 2 that had unreadable sectors, and those have all been ones that were burned near the beginning of my burning "career". And I probably have a good 400-500 burned CD's at this point. Granted, probably at least 50% of them I've never tried using since I burned them, but overall I havent really had any problems.
While I agree "blu-ray" sounds futuristic and pretty cool (I guess), HD-DVD does benefit from having the term "DVD" in its name, which is comforting and familiar to Joe Sixpack. Plus lots of people these days have heard of "HD" so the term HD-DVD would lead most people to believe its a high definition DVD, which is pretty accurate. Whereas "blu-ray" says nothing about the product.
Of course the sales will be down from same period last year - that's when GTA:San Andreas came out. Did they really expect to even come close to that?
More importantly, who gives a crap, other than stock holders. They still had 1.2 billion in sales. Obviously only a part of that number will be profit, but the important thing is they still MADE MONEY. How is that a bad thing?:P
Ah, but you see, that is nearly impossible! Why? Because! Opera had the brilliant idea that by default, it would identify itself as Internet Explorer, so that sites trying to lock out non-IE browsers would be fooled. I can understand the reasoning here, but as a web developer, it is actually really frustrating. Opera can do most everything IE can, as far as I can tell, but some of its CSS is a bit wacky. Not as wacky as IE, but certainly wacky in other ways. But because of the faked User Agent by default, I can't detect Opera and include changes to CSS to make it behave properly.
But, anyways, from the comments already, it seems built-in AdBlock is in high demand. I'd have to agree with this sentiment. If I had to choose only one extension that I couldn't live without, it would be AdBlock. Whenever I use a computer without it, I am appalled by how annoying the internet trully is.
I was wondering when I would finally see some screenshots of this. It won't turn your old games into next gen games, but they do look noticably better (anti-aliasing in particular).
Good read. Nice to see a musician who "gets it" and is more interested in people hearing his music than making money (although of course he still wants to make money).
Good ad also. I checked out the band on YaTunes (my term for Yahoo Music), so far I like what I hear.:)
Are you pulling that out of your ass or did you just misunderstand the article? It specifically said the label wanted to use this band with DRM because their target market was college students. It sounded like the band convinced the label to go fuck themselves and release their album DRM-free, because they want as many people to hear them as possible, as opposed to making as much money as possible.
if I waited in line 6 hours, fought customers just to purchase a broken item for my kid who is crying, then if I called Microsoft and got the run around, hell yeah I would sue
Yah, sue them, that's totally the solution to your problem.
OK I'm trolling, but this comment really pissed me off. It's people like you who make this country of ours such a worthless pile of shit. Asshole.
I agree with the grandparent. Using [sic] when quoting someone comes across as pretty arrogant, even if that was not your intention. I also found it extra funny that immediately after that, you made a bad spelling error yourself.:) I dont think less of you, just my 2 cents. And I'm not saying I'm a perfect speller, but, I won't go out of my way to point out others mistakes.
I'm sorry but you're wrong. Teens (less than 16 or so) are complete fucking morons. There are exceptions to every rule but I can't believe someone would try to defend them. Everyone who's been a teen knows what it's like.
I totally agree. "Mainstream" media players these days totally suck ass. They are so bloated and ugly that it makes me want to die.
If you use Windows, I _highly_ recommend Media Player Classic. It's interface is based on the old school MS Media Player 6, which was as simple as it gets. It's small, fast, light footprint, but tons of option and keyboard controls if you want.
VLC is also pretty good and available for many different platforms. I dont like it nearly as much as MPC, but, the nice thing about it is that it will play about 99.9% of all media files you will ever download, regardless of whether or not you have the codec installed. This is the only time I use it in fact - when I dont have a codec installed for some random type of file. Some people love it as their main media player, it's just a matter of taste really.
I believe both have built in support for DVD playback as well. However, as I have a regular DVD player for my TV, I've never actually tested it.
Lord a'mighty, have you seen how much these fuckers are going for on ebay? Check out the listings... one even sold for over 5,000 dollars (yes, five thousand).... Wow.
I could't live without FlashBlock, AdBlock (with auto piercieve updater), Mouse Gestures, NoScript, IEview, or BugMeNot. Also a fan of Forecast Fox, Gmail Notifier, User Agent Switcher, and Faster Fox.:D
You are talking about IE tab, which is different than IE view. IE view is just a context menu item to open the current page in an IE window. IE tab works as you described.
I read this comment and I just laugh. Make the game look as bad as it can possibly look, just because graphics can't yet be distinguished from reality? Why the hell would you do that?
A lot of the features don't appeal to me, but the favorites system with integrated tagging and auto delicious syncing is really freaking nice. Unfortunately I must have come across a nasty bug because after a few restarts of the browse (not from crashes), suddenly the favorites menu stopped working, both in the menu bar and the star icon itself.:( But from what use I had, ~ an hour or so, I really liked that aspect.
Also the search box in the top right, it searches your history and your favorites a la "google suggest" and find-as-you-type. And if you want to actually search the internet, then you just hit return and it takes you to google or whatever. I thought it was well done and creative.
As I saw someone else said also, the default theme is pretty nice, which is saying something considering how god awful most themes are. I didnt like the look of the buttons so much but the tabs were sexy and the gradient was subtle enough to actually be good. I would probably prefer just the default Firefox look over it but all things considered they did a good job.
Like I said a lot of the other features don't really appeal to me, but MAN OH MAN do we need an overhaul of the bookmarking system, and I think Flock is on the right track. I will definitely check it out again once it hits 1.0.:D
I'm sorry, this is just dumb. I'm only repeating what others have said so far but maybe that will help drive in the point that this is Worst. Puzzle. Evar.
With the king able to manipulate the chalice, there is absolutely no way for them to communicate to eachother, because the king can always turn the chalice back to the way it was before the prisoner entered the room. So every prisoner will always see the exact same thing. Stupid, stupid.
I agree portable TV is retarded, mainly because of the abysmal screen size, but that's totally not what this is about. It's about the ability to LEGALLY download television shows from the internet. You can watch them on your computer too ya know and the quality is surprisingly good considering it's 320x240 and only about 4MB/minute. I downloaded the latest episode of LOST to discover this. This is much more exciting than the fact that you can also watch said video on the new damn iPod. It will be amazing when we have the ability to download nearly all popular shows without commercials. They'll need to drop the prices slightly though, as $2/episode is a bit high. I understand that 200MB/episode is quite a bit of bandwith, what they need to do is build BitTorrent into iTunes and then all will be good.
I agree a revision system would be very handy, so they could quickly read just the changes. More than that though, Rider bills are the biggest piece of political bullshit I've ever heard of. Where are you getting your HBO? I have comcast which isnt exactly known for its stellar prices, yet I only pay 16/mo for HBO. :P
Jesus, you didnt even mention that the new "mac books" are intel based! Which is obviously the biggest news... and half your summary is a quote from steve jobs about how many ipods they've sold... no one cares! Give us the news that matters :P

Rap group D4L's "Laffy Taffy" took the top spot with 175,000 tracks sold
GOOD FREAKING LORD ARE YOU KIDDING ME... That song is horrible! It makes me want to die a horrible death, immediately!

many websites would block Opera outright
Ah, but you see, that is nearly impossible! Why? Because! Eh? I dont ride the bus much, but I did just pay for a 2 zone ride about a week ago and it was $1.50.
I love how this got modded "Insightful" when it's obviously sarcastic :)
I was wondering when I would finally see some screenshots of this. It won't turn your old games into next gen games, but they do look noticably better (anti-aliasing in particular).

I wrote a review of this game. I only played the demo but I was seriously disappointed. What a huge smelly pile of crap.
A lot of the features don't appeal to me, but the favorites system with integrated tagging and auto delicious syncing is really freaking nice.
