Portland doesnt have that many hippies actually, if you exclude the Hawthorne district. You wanna talk about hippies, then you want to have a looksie at Eugene. Now that is full of dirty hippies. I grew up there and I fucking hate that place.
I thought the same thing. It's an interesting idea for sure but letting users define which links affect pagerank and which don't is very open to abuse. And if enough people abuse it, it will totally destroy their whole pagerank system.
To be totally honest, I'm probably going to do this with a few links on the sites that I'm in charge of. I know, I know, totally evil and abusive, but seriously, if I have the ability to lower other sites of interest in my "genre" in search engine results, without hurting my own results, why WOULDNT I do that??:P
Something that might work would be for their crawlers to be able to identify when a page has user comments and to automatically ignore all links in that section. Of course it would be impossible to recognize all areas on sites like this automatically, but they could probably get 90-95% of them pretty accurately. That would work pretty well I think.
That's a very optimistic way of looking at things. I totally agree - it is absolutely amazing. We've just been a bit spoiled by all the awesome pics from Mars recently.:)
I cant wait to see all of the pictures, no matter the quality. Release them already ESA!
I think the whole titan mission is fascinating, but they really need to release some higher quality pictures. The ones they've released are about as crappy (quality wise) as your average cell phone camera picture. We're getting like 320x240 pics with extreme JPEG compression artifacts. They had to have loaded something better than that on Huygens right?:)
Unfortunately the sounds are really boring to the untrained ear. One is just hissing that constantly changes volume between loud and quiet, the other sounds like an old atari game.
Well, here's hoping to the future. Please don't take this message as a troll, as this was a very successful mission and an engineering feat. I just want to see better results already:)
"It will be like 9/11 times a hundred. Yes, 91,100."
Kekekeke ^___^
Sorry, dont mean to sound insensitive, but the way you phrased that totally reminded me of Team America. Humor is a good way to ease the pain, remember.
Holy hell, I had totally forgotten about that game, but as soon as I read the name of it, all of these great memories came flooding back to me... thanks! That game really was amazing for its time, and damn it was fun:) And all this time all I could remember in terms of good mac games was marathon:P
I like how you state this as if it's absolute fact and there could be no other explanation. It's a reasonable theory but unless you worked on the hardware for the DS or have a source that did, I have a hard time accepting it.:P
Never seen above 2x ??? What the hell man... You have had some seriously bad luck or smoke crack rock like there's no tomorrow.
I rip using iTunes on Windows and get about 20x ripping speeds. Yes, I can rip an hour long CD in three minutes! It's freaking awesome.:) This is with an athlon xp 3200+. On my old ibook (700mhz G3), I can rip at about 7x. And on my old PC (xp1600+), I could rip at about 12x. All of these computers have different cd/dvd drives.
So, something is seriously the matter on your end.:)
Actually, I've had zero crashes since installing 1.0 about 2 weeks ago. But I normally don't have many crashes anyways, maybe once a month, and I have about 10 extensions active.
I'm also running on a nforce2 mobo (k7n8x), athlon 3200+, windows xp sp2, 1 gig pc3200 ram.
When you see google ads on other web pages it always says "ads by goooooooooooogle" with however many O's... I'm guessing it woul dbe 16 since that's the one that has so many results.
I experienced this as well, maybe 4 or 5 times throughout the entire game. I thought it was just my fragged harddrive, since my specs are decent (xp3200+, radeon 9600 pro, 1 gig pc3200 ram). But now that I find out it's affecting most people... I STILL dont care, because honestly, it's not that big of a deal. Of course I would prefer it not to be there but I never once thought to myself, "Gee this sure ruins the experience, what the hell was Valve thinking, now I'm pissed off and will rate half life 2 poorly". Come on, people. Relax, chill the F out, enjoy the excellent game that Valve has created. I'm sure they'll release a fix for it eventually but in the meantime, don't be so uptight about it.
Sorry but if you think frat's are about anything other than getting drunk and fucking sorority whores, you've got another thing coming. At least that's the way it is in my town.:\
Compare the number of respondents between the two screenshots. Number one has 1963, number two has 2020, a difference of only 57 people. Yet somehow Kerry's percentage for all categories that can be seen dropped at least 3 percent, one of them by 5 percent. 3 percent is possible if EVERY SINGLE ONE of the 57 extra people said they voted for Bush, but we all know the chances of this are basically zero. And that still doesnt explain the 5 percent difference for the first figure listed (males).
You failed to recognize the opportunity to bring these people into your camp, which would have been quite a feat considering many of the people in your camp are hippies that do not bathe
Hahaha.... that made me laugh out loud:) Not that I'm on your side necessarily. I'm no democrat but I tend to lean left and most certainly did NOT vote for Bush.
Ugh, your site gives me a headache. I'm sorry, I really wanted to read the article, but the ugly font, white text on black, and dark blue links on top of black that highlight with puke flourescent green... I just couldnt handle it after about 30 seconds:(
Its too bad because I was interested in what you had to say:P
I got a dell 1800 ultrasharp series two years ago (november 2002). It is absolutely gorgeous and just fine for gaming, I hate hearing people bitch about LCD's not being ready yet, they obviously havent seen anything too recent. That wasnt referring to the article submitter, just in general.
I imagine LCD's coming out today are even better than what I have. I play a lot of games, quake 3, unreal tourney 2004, tribes vengeance, etc, with a radeon 9600 pro, this LCD is absolutely fine, very vibrant colors, very sharp output, I'm in love and dont see how anyone couldnt be:)
Just dont go for the bottom of the barrel! Everyone I know of loves the dell ultrasharp series, that's what I have and recommend. When I bought mine two years ago it was 600 on sale, now its around 400 for the same size. Definitely worth it to me.
I was going to post about the horrible grammer of the article itself (which the summary was ripped from) but then saw your post. The last sentence in the article just cracks me up:
At moment, Yahoo! service available to Cingular Wireless, AT&T Wireless and Sprint Wireless subscribers.

I think that's a buzzword for "we analyzed the logs" :P
To my knowledge, CSS can only be used to define layout and look, it can't change actual content. Probably need a regex.

It was obviously supposed to be a funny comment. He was poking fun at America, not Canada. :P
I'd say RUNS ON WINDOWS is a pretty damn big feature that MythTV lacks. :P

Thats really simple. Thanks for making it so easy for everyone to grab a copy.
