Apple also doesn't mind cannibalizing sales of another product line (iPhines vs iPods) as they'd rather lose sales to themselves than a competitor. Sounds like MicroSoft's corporate culture precludes this strategy.
Just talked with wife (my wife; I have one too!) about updating her 2006 laptop. She said shed be fine with a tablet that can play her Facebook games and print stuff. I think I'm getting a new bike and a tablet this weekend!
Exactly! Apple named their mobile OS something totally different from their desktop OS, thus setting up expectations that they were the same and would run the same apps. Apple so dumb!
James B. diGeiz: George Cloony Angelina diGriz: Angelina Jolie James and Boliver diGriz: James and Oliver Phelps Inskip: Bruce Willis Prof Coypu: Will Wheaton
Makes sense. Just about every village had a garbage pile nearby (good for archaeologists) and the age of dogs splitting off from wolves parallels human transition from nomadic to sedentary.
Yeah, our smart dog has just now figured out how to turn doorknobs. Luckily, it only works when the door opens inwards. He'll let himself into the house but can't let himself out. Unless I turn a door around...
Also had a cat that would jump up and hold on to doorknobs until they opened.
Cro-magnon killed some wolves, saw the pups and took them back to cave; food is food. Eventually someone liked them enough to keep around (keep pests down, alert to sounds, are cute, etc) and the ones that bred and stayed friendly and neonatic (shorter snouts, less aggressive) kept breeding.
Yeah, but they're just doing what apple does. Everyone knows apple doesn't create or innovate anything; they just copy real American computer makers like HP and Samsung and then mark up prices as they wrap a pretty box around things that doesn't even have enough specs, suggested use or product tie ins covering up all that stupid white space.
Exactly! No one was supposed to buy iPads because they were just toy consumption devices and you can't do real work on them. Now, a real computing device comes along and no one wants it. It's almost like the consumers are ignoring slashdot wisdom or something. Weird!
Everyone knows humans don't have an effect on climate. Look how little a person is compared to the Earth! It's all solar cosmic rays and Martian volcanos getting closer to Earth that makes it get warmer, just like when dinosaurs ruled things and made people's live in caves instead of drive cars wherever they wanted.
Exactly! As things stand now, that's as good as it'll ever be. Human beings are not exactly known for making advances in areas where everyone knows advances can't be made.

The Judean People's Front!
Marine Corp. General Smedley Butler: War Is A Racket. Y'all should take a peep at this. Lays it out pretty well and is short and quick to read.
Eh. I've had an Apple TV for three years or so and haven't bought more than 200-250 movies. That's nothing compared to music! Apple fail!
Well, as long as lead bullets aren't hurting anyone...

I always thought affect was something you did to yourself and effect wa something you did to something outside yourself?
It recycles or it gets the hose!

If it'll let me run Balder's Gate on a new Mac, I'll be happy.
I would gladly pay you Tuesday, for a hamburger today.
