Tough titties. Are you suggesting, that doing due-dilligence, and abandoning the presumption of innocence is acceptable because the RIAA feels its *too much bother*? The DMCA was written as a hammer, that allowed a lawyers' letter to FORCE someone to remove a 'suspected offending file' even before either party had seen a judge - this, im hoping for you americans, will fail at the supremes someday (if not for other reasons the DMCA is a violation of the your constitution).

If the RIAA comes knocking at my door, I am just going to say "oh, im sorry, my oops" and *they* are just going to walk away? I doubt it. The days of corproate governance are upon you americans -- DO SOMETHING!

ahem, except there are hunting guns and made-for-war-assault-weapons. Its pretty much those assault weapons people have a beef with -- there sole purpose is to kill people, not game.

The Anti-Gun Crowd (of which I am one) (mostly) *do* recognize the difference. Here's my proposal: Ban assault weapons/hand-guns. Register/Restrict (like, you cant buy them without waiting period, felons cannot purchse) distributuion of hunting weapons. 200 years from now, all the weapons currently in posession of the criminals (who I understand will *not* follow these laws - *they are* criminals) will be ill functioning/antiquated and people who's only intent is to use a weapon lawfully will be free to do so. Weapons meant to be used in crimes will be *much* more difficult to obtain.

This is how the problem is approached virtually everywhere but the US (and it works)... dont even make me get into the poor understanding people have of your 14th :) that can wait for another day...

This might play in Peoria, but the internet is International. You'll find more than a small group of people who can think rationally, the rest of the planet is not inhabited by JoeSixpack who'll get all jittery and salivating at the word "pinko". Not everyone grew up on a diet of Jingoism and 100% Pure American Capitalism(TM). If youve got somthing of substance to say about us "pinkos" on the left, please, lets hear it. I'll make music, so will every other musician, do you know why?

because true Artists, are compelled to create as a matter of their existance. It is not work, most artists would like to use their music to make a living -- but that is so that they can spend more time dedicated to the art itself.. not so they can get like "Jennie-on-the-block-who-has-big-diamonds-and-what ever-shut-the-fuck-up."

There is music(art), there is then there is the product(RIAA).

Full lenght movies made this way, will liberate would-be-film-makers to tell more SPECIFIC and challenging stories, they will be able to paint more detail and less broad-appeal-brush-strokes.

I will be the first to see this movie when its released, and I hope you all are as well, THESE kinds of projects will be the ones that deliver the /. the movie experiences it craves.

The answer, brother, is to form a union - dont get screwed while the boss makes promises. Policies and Promisies are worthless, if he could, your employer would put you in the poor house if it meant a new 'vette for his mistress. Ask the teaming multitudes at Enron, who's bosses admonished them to "buy more stock" while they themselves were dumping it knowing the house was going up in flames, ask them what their hard work and "productivity gains" got them...

How much you know, how much you do and how "productive" you are rarely translates into higher pay, how hard you suck the boss off is what gets you ahead.
