I'm considering short-selling SCOX stock on Tuesday. Bad idea? Good idea? Thoughts, please. I don't particularly feel like blowing through more money on the market.
You modded up a user named ADOLF HITROLL? As a Jewish person, and as a human being, I am deeply offended. Mod me down, if you will... but this is wrong, people.
Just remember to take off your RFID blocker watch before trying to get on a plane. Try explaining THAT to airport security: You: "It's a watch that protects my privacy from the invasive government by sending out waves of non-dangerous radiation!" Them: "Terrorist!" You: "But it's just radio wa-wahhhhhhh!" *getting taken away in handcuffs*
immediately thought of Milton in Office Space upon seeing the title of this topic?
"... I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and its not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire. "
Brazilian Government Continues Push For Free Software So... all M$ would have to do would be to distribute free copies of their software to the Brazilian government in order to solve this, correct? If I were Ballmer and Co., I would take this as opportunity to nip this in the bud. But I'm not evil. [sarcasm] And I hope that M$ doesn't read this and steal my idea... because you just know that they've never done this before. [/sarcasm]
Let us not forget that Free (as in speech) is what we are still fighting for. I don't know about you, but personally, I'm fighting for Free (as in beer) beer.
Did you realize a beowulf cluster of these things COULD RULE THE WORLD?...and they could abolish bad language while they're at it. Feeeeeeeeear Cindy Smart! Feeeeeeear her and her evil army of doll clones!
Yeah... if you think Luddite ultra-right-wing militia men are paranoid right now, wait until RFID becomes widespread. UPC codes will become a relic of the past in their conspiracy theories.
Eyes have the potential problem of a thief scanning your house to see what you have inside. Slashdotters unite! We must band together to ban optic nerves!
When used correctly, and in the right hands (if such a thing exists), it's a relatively non-intrusive technology. Yeah, it's a moderate violation of civil liberties -- but there's always freedom of choice. And honestly, having RFID tags is less invasive than a bag checker at the door, don't you think?
"Imagine a being that had equal or greater intelligence to a fifteen year old, but with the knowledge and life experience of a fifty year old!" I'd expect Telomerase research to be a more viable way of achieving this.
SCO sued all trees for their use of "open-source" software, which is by definition the property of said company. In a suit paralleling this one, SCO also sued all of humanity for intaking the air that was produced by biological plant-based systems that utilized code in violation of SCO's terms of agreement.

...it's a live action How Stuff Works? Neat.

Would SCO's patents would become worthless? Poor Darl McBride... what would become of him?
...I take it this is the wrong website to try to garner pity for the beleaguered CEO.
*dodges barrage of tomatoes*
Sheesh! Tough crowd.
It was a commentary on all of the ways that people cite for diamonds being inexpensive.
Like computer prices aren't high enough already.
(This is humor. Yeah, I know: "Diamond cartel! Not actually expensive! Industrial diamonds cheap!" Mod me (-1, Unfunny). Not (-1, Stupid).)
Where is John Carmack to explain this to us when we need him? Why have you left us, Carmack? ::weeps over keyboard::
WHY???
What is this "tuh-eee" you speak of?
Patent "Utilizing the Bathroom in a Manner Such that Feces is Deposited." Pooping is profitable!

(Thank you, Slashdot, for not having -1, Insane.)

But I wonder -- if Linux is used to program these ear tags, will Darl McBride own the entire homeless population?
He could form an army! Oh no!
(Good for SCOX stock price, bad for us.)

You can't because of the DMCA. No reverse-engineering, foo'!
Do you rely on works of fiction for all your mathematics? If so, we're all human batteries that defy the laws of thermodynamics..
Yes, but are you a The Simpsons watcher?
It's $699!!
[insert SCO-related joke here, along the lines of "In United States, SCO sues YOU!", but funnier]
Mmm... gotta love the warmth of my karma burning. Feels good on a cold night.
SCO is claiming patent rights to sex. It's a MERE $699 to ensure that you are not in violation of their policies in order to engage in intercourse.
...first post?
And, uhm... in Soviet Russia, sex watches YOU!
(-5, Troll... yeah I know. My karma is on fire. But I found it funny.)
