All of this is actually touched on in the box set.
Touched on isn't the word I'd use. It's heavily talked about during both Serenity (the Pilot) & The Train Job. Joss certainly doesn't hold back during the commentary. Never has the "commentary may not reflect the studio's views" warning been more apt.
Troika is doing the new Vampire game, which could be good or bad. Troika did (some of) Fallout and (all of) Arcanum, but also did Temple of Elemental Evil, candidate for the Released-Too-Early Award, 2003. I think they'll have a compelling story. I hope it'll be a good game. Because I know nothing about The Masquerade (except: for: the: White Wolf: colons:) other than that it's Troika making it, and with the Valve Source(d) engine.
* how much would you pay for a box that plays next generation videogames Oooh, I know this one. $300. * plays DVDs Um, I'll take "controller for $20, or use XBMP for free", Alex * acts as a PVR MythTV for Xbox - free. * plays MP3/WMA music, with a nice on-screen browser * acts as a server or client to distribute media XBMP strikes again, apparently...
I've only seen one actual answer. The problem is not watching the movies, but keeping the Menus and other bonuses. Playing VOBs is easy, it's managing 1000 folders and menus that's tough.
Worst. Book. Ever. When the highlight is the rape of a woman by an alien, you have to go WTF?!?!?!!
And as for Iain Banks - I can easily look you in the eye and say he sucks - check out prior postings by me. I love Modesitt, Green, MacLeod, James Alan Gardner, Simon Green, Heinlein, Bunch, as well as the classics, but Banks just plain sucked. Even reread one of them twice to make sure it wasn't something I'd missed. Nope. Lent it to a friend. Friend hated it as well.

Unfortunately, Cluster, Orn/Omnivore/Ox, Macroscope, etc, are all ancient books of his. Cluster, the latest of the bunch, was 1977 - Macroscope was 1969! If nothing else, it shows how an author can go downhill...and stay there.
[...] parking on the side of the road isn't a crime? I see truck drivers do it all the time. Are they required to show ID?
Technically, it's not legal for them to do, they have to park in properly zoned areas. (That being said, in my area the police don't mind as long as it's on a feeder road, as opposed to in a residential area, which _is_ illegal.) So they might have to produce ID, as they are being questioned for something illegal. YMMV, and IANACop.
Best use for an Xbox. Only downside is that the AdvanceMame2x Scaling makes it a bit slow.
That being said, Prince of Persia kicked ass, but on the whole people are much happier playing Asteroids or Joust.

What's Joss going to do now?

In a year and a half, he's gone from having 3 shows on television (Firefly, Buffy, Angel) to none. On the plus side it'll give him more time to work on the oft-mentioned Firefly Movie, but it's kind of depressing that there will be no Joss on the boob tube.
OT: heck, remember when the choice wasn't whether you could watch Science Fiction on TV, but what kind? Friday nights were nerdvana for a while. Farscape, Dark Angel, Invisible Man, G vs E, etc, etc.
I forgot the gentleman's first name, but the style/album is called Plunderphonics. Some of it sounds better in theory, but some are _damn_ clever. And you mentioned mixing different songs together... Get AaA"GrayfoldedAai1/2 (grayfol-ded, greatful dead, get it?) which is the ultimate version of The Dead's AaA"Dark StarAai1/2. Two volumes, and he was given full access to their vaults. Overdubs, mixing solos, merging solos, etc. Impressive.
The delays don't kill a game. A bad game, released early, will still not sell. A good game, released late, will still sell. While a good game can become bad if forced to release early (*cough* Temple of Elemental Evil *cough*), I'd rather have the delay and have a completed game.
The real problem is the hyping of games. They're hyping games that won't be out for over a year. I'm constantly surprised by games that just came out (I thought Chrome came out months ago, based on the hype back then). I suspect other people are, too.
New stuff always gets made. Hell, The Matrix got made. For there to be a sequel there has to be an original. Just like in the games industry, someone comes and makes an amazing product, and immediately everyone starts making knock-offs. But the original was still made, nothing can take that away.
As for Anime? Original? Creative? Sure. Mainstream? Nope. I doubt it ever will be, here. The blossoming you see at Suncoast is for geeks like us. They sell enough to warrant it, but most people will automatically think "Disney" when they see it. After all, how long has Anime been around? Let's be conservative and say 20 years. And what's changed? Well, we have Adult Swim.
The only these movies got made were because people went and saw the first one. There's no sequel to Gigli, for instance. As was once stated: "the last sequel that gets made is the one that doesn't make any money".
Yes, but they say it like going electronic will enable them to cut costs. Yeah, sure, to the tune of 4 dollars for a book. If my option is either paying an extra $4 or only being able to access my 500-page Calc book online, I'm paying the extra $4. And, trust me, no one is printing only 1000 copies of a book.
The one thing it would do is allow the publisher to drop the price - after all, no used market to suck up profits. The down side is that word "allow". Do you think the publisher would do that, or keep the extra profits? The problem, here, is that the physical product is one of the cheapest things in the equation - think of it as a service company with a physical component.

Heck, it's been hinted that they're going to do a movie. A movie, based off a TV show, based off a box office flop. Oh, the irony...

And emphasize that several of the old Looking Glass folks are working on it...

I was being funny, but with my luck there will be a Longhorn server.
Great - now I'll need to put GeForce4's in my servers...

Intel is the 800 lb. gorialla, and everyone watches intently to see where it will sit.

And FYI - the Sager is the same as the Alienware gaming laptop.

I have always had a soft spot for "Wagon Train in Space"
I like them too. Fortunately, Firefly filled that void for 13 episodes.
