    It has about the same range as a $20 harbor freight propane torch used to kill weeds, which is a couple feet. If yours only does a few inches you got ripped off.

    They thought the whites just sat back and collected the profits while doing no actual work on the farms and that anyone could step in and fill that role. Turns out they were wrong. Management is an actual skill and does require effort.

    You obviously have a very narrow view of the world and are trying to apply your own reality to others even when its not applicable. In my city for instance you could not lead any sort of productive life without a car. The city is sprawling and public transport is spotty at best. If you moved to the ideal location it might be possible, but how are you supposed to get the money to afford that move?

    The deal with Tesla is it COULD make money. They don't have any trouble selling cars, theyre just investing heavily in growth. To investors that looks like prime time to get in.

    Remember too that the brain is just part of a system. Without responses from the rest of the system it fails to feel a lot of different emotions. Stress and fear in particular require a bit of feedback from the rest of you to continue on.

    I work in a credit union. 90% of our jobs are customer facing for people who want to talk with a human instead of using the website or an ATM. There is very little back office. You have loan underwriters, title clerk's, IT, mail, and accounting. All small departments. Big stuff are call centers, tellers, FSRs, etc...

    If it's better for their worldwide margins to build more efficient cars, they will continue to do so. They pay people a lot of money to help them come up with their market strategies. Also, you may actually see an increase in fuel economy. Emissions hardware tends to sap power or require a motor to run in an inefficient manner to achieve the parameters needed to reduce emissions. You usually push your foot down harder to compensate and hence burn more fuel. I'm not saying this whole thing is a good idea, just that its not cut and dry "goodbye fuel economy, hello fumes!".

    It's easier to make a car more fuel efficient if emission standards are more lax. Restrictive exhaust systems sap power which you in turn make up for by pushing the pedal down further.

    Dunno. I use it for certain things just because of it's popularity, but honestly it's all a giant circle jerk with any difference of opinion being down voted into Oblivion. Makes it a pretty boring place IMO.

    Don't the batteries naturally lose maximum output as they discharge? If a phone can't handle maximum performance anymore when it can't hold as much charge, how did it do it before as the charge went down ?

  16. If you could copy the process and apply it to different stock, yes. Nature doesn't do this for a reason. If every member of a species has all the same flaws and weaknesses as well as no capacity to change, some disease that CAN change will find a way to exploit it then boom. All of them gone.

    It's likely just a PITA to replace one and they probably destroy a phone on accident every now and then. The things weren't made to be changed. They were made to be disposable.

    Why not use water or some other method that won't need constant filter replacement and create junk. The water could be reused until it evaporates away and leaves solid waste material. You could even use the water to cool something as it does it's job.

    The solution is for the cops to calm the heck down. Violent crime is at an all time low but the cops keep becoming more and more violent. We aren't In a warzone. Police shot and killed per year is at it's lowest since the early 1900s despite the obvious population increase. Far more die of heart attacks on duty. Maybe lay off the donuts AND the assault rifles.
