I knew some of you guys would attack them over use of the phrase. I think you guys are taking it quite too literally. Metaphorically it can be used to mean that someone or something appears out of nowhere to solve a vexing problem. And in the context of Google, that may be an apt metaphor to use.
It's weird that Sony didn't carry ovver the lesson they learned from the PS2 -- backward compatibility is important to consumers.
I don't care that Blue-Ray will give me more storage. It won't play the DVDs I currently own. I don't plan on rebuying those discs anytime soon, not when I have a DVD player that can upconvert. I will not own both an HD-DVD and Blue-Ray player. If Sony doesn't want to release their content on HD-DVD, they'll only be hurting themselves. It's interesting to see a hardware/content provider screw themselves up in this manner.
I won't support Sony because they are the antethis of Google. All they do is evil. From their fake movie reviewers, to their silly proprietary technology to their DRM rootkit fiasco. I don't trust them and they can put a white person at the top and it doesn't matter. They do not learn from their lessons, they have an arrogance about them that reminds me of Nintendo from the 80's, which is why i'm happy to see the South Koreans kicking their asses now.
You've probably seen Pixar's works because they're...well, good. I could care less about the abundance of shorts via your link. If any of them were deserving of my attention, I would know about it. I wouldn't need the Canadian gov't forcing it in my face.
While the RIAA may have the law on its side to pursue these cases, is it truly just to file blind lawsuits in this manner. If they believe that everyone who buys a PC must know how to adequately secure it from external and internal users, doesn't it then stand to reason that it should be suing the OS and hardware companies who sell their products in a completely unsecured state? Or shouldn't the RIAA work with these companies to make their products secure out of the box ?
Why is it the responsibility of this woman to become a security expert in order to benefit the RIAA ?
British actors are used in American movies to lend a certain aesthetic. There is no dearth of character actors working in Hollywood, any casting agent will tell you that. But it's easier to use a British actor to indulge the audience's stereotpes for certain roles -- prim, proper, anal retentive, nasaly, etc.
American actors are used for roles that typically offer a "realness" and a certain down-to-earth quality that British actors have never been able to deliver to an American audience. These type of roles are the preponderance of work availabel to character actors in America.
This is also another reason why there so few break out British stars. Australian stars (Nicole Kidman, Russel Crowe) tend to be more readily accepted by American audiences for the reasons I've just mentioned. They are believable and seem approachable.
Really? So Hillary Swank is 'cosmetically' appealing?
I thought the movie industries (elsewhere) typically hired attractive people for leading roles and average looking people for character roles. I wasn't aware the British industry was more democratic in its process.
hiring top notch lawyers in the same manner that they've been hiring the best engineers. Hopefully they realize that an engineer-centric environment may sound nice on paper but a complete functioning organization is necessary to stay alive.
I don't find anything he said to be too objectionable but looking at it from Google's perspective, his comments could have the effect of making them less competitive in attracting top-tier talent.
Let's face it, Google is positioning itself as the anti-Microsoft company. Most young, talented people are attracted by Google's image but for a lot of people, it really does come down to the all-mighty-dollar.
This guy didn't appear to be too socially adept (social outings seemed to bother him) so perhaps he wasn't aware of the impact of his comments. A shame, really.
There's a certain Russian escort who has been in NYC for a little over two months perhaps. She's been a very busy beaver (pun heavily intended).
Check out her emails to the following accounts. Note how some of the poor saps ask her if she only does this occassionally and she dutily tells them what they want to hear.
Note also how some guys use their real emails and send smiling pics, as though they were signing up for a reality show.
But most of all, note the thousands of emails she has received and sent in such a limited amount of time.
I have to admit that I did partake of her services. She offers a decent uncovered blowjob, nothing spectacular. She also gives up the ass, which she didn't orignally do. She now has a partner in crime so the really freaky stuff is available. Note how she changed her name from Irina to Alisa for this service. Creative, huh?
She even tried to guage whether there was interest in doing bukakke. A really fun girl, don't you think !
See if you can spot some of the emails and names. I found one guy who actually was my recruiter ! Small world, huh.

Many people make fun of Nixon, but his Sunshine Policy with regard to China has really helped China and the world. Can you imagine China as closed and belligerent as North Korea ?
And the other thing is competition is good for everyone.
You seem to be under the impression that hip-hop is about rap, it's much more than that. It is a way of life that many young people feel comfortable with as their vehicle of self-expression.
Is it really selling out when aspects of a sub-culture break out to the greater culture? When did Rock sell out? And is it a bad thing that it did ?
Look, if you don't agree with what these companies are doing, don't give them your business. That's the ultimate test of who is truly seeing the world correctly.
You are an idiot if you think undeleting an account would be the proper response to a security incursion.
Are they taking money during this "beta" period ?

400 minutes a year ? Get a prepaid and shut yer trap.
I seriously would like NYC to secede from the country. Then we can ban visas from all red states. Can't stand those disgusting, backwards idiots.

Yes, we're deprived. They only give us NPR here.

Did Jobs patent that one yet?

The film appears so British!!
Oh no....shitty, subpar special effects !!!!
P.S. I didn't know Morgan Freeman was British.
Broadband deployment has nothing to do with technological innovation. It's a matter of policy and infrastructure.
What, you think the US doesn't have the technological ability to put down DSL lines?
Please.
Selling out ?

It's not merely important to have laws on the books, they have to be enforced. China has laws against piracy I believe, but they are never enforced.
I'm not aware of a continent called America.
