    In England if you have a TV you have to pay a license fee, which then in turn funds the BBC

    Also in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Not just England.

    As I don't have mod points I'll shamelessly copy the AC reply that's currently scored zero points:

    They don't need to upload the files to the rovers because they're getting raw data here on Earth. They simply need to switch the calibration data in the software.

    This is not a major thing. Yes, all the data collected from these sensors will have to be re-analyzed, but that should be a simple thing.

    You're thinking of the highly inefficient incandescent light bulb.
    There are many more ways to create light than heating a filament in an inert gas.

    I think you're missing the point. The un-bundling of these apps is not because they're broken (even though they are), it's that being preinstalled constitutes a monopoly abuse.
