  1. Since when is MS more evil on Xbox Price Drops to $200 · · Score: 3, Flamebait

Since when did MS become more evil than Sony? Many people here seem to be getting a PS2 because MS is evil yet we all know how much more evil Sony really is. Copy-protected CD's, RIAA, DMCA, etc. But suddenly nobody cares.

Slashdot is a weird crowd. I also remember the day when people were favorable to a RedHat acquisition by AOL/TW. Go figure.

  2. Re:Top five lamest arguments of the console war on Xbox Price Drops to $200 · · Score: 2

me, I already have an XBox and I'm buying a nintendo. They're both great. I was a little disappointed with the GC graphics but the gameplay is fun so I'll buy it anyway.

I just got Oddworld's Munchs Oddyssey and it's pretty good to. It sure is better than all the Mario's I played.

Halo is good but I just have a hard time playing FPS games on a console.

My next buy will probably be Silent Hill 2 and then maybe Amped or THPS3

me, I won't buy the S, I love the original XBox Controller. You have ten games? Currently I have DOA3, Fuzion Frenzy, Halo and Project Gotham Racing. What do you have and what do you recommend? Yeah I know this may be a little bit off topic, but we're talking consoles here.

  5. Re:XBox 1.0 officially failure? on PS2 Price May Fall, Gamecube Staying Put · · Score: 2

This is the console with the best graphics yet, it's far from dead. Online gaming will be available soon and since the XBox has cut it's prices, more and more people are buying it.

  6. Nobody pays attention to privacy on Seems Nobody Gives A Damn About Privacy · · Score: 2

Why? Because it's convenient, it's much easier to ignore it instead of trying to find it. Look at what happened to PGP and look at Sony running wild with the DMCA yet every now and then, Slashdot treats us with articles about the Playstation, about movies, about music, etc. So no don't come and tell me that you care, your actions prove otherwise.

  7. Mandrake doesn't cut it on the server? You're wron on Red Hat Takes Aim at SuSE, Mandrake · · Score: 2
Mandrake 8.2 was loaded onto a server and placed into the DMZ of Sec33.com's network. Without a firewall Mandrake sat and waited while an invitation to hack this system was broadcast around the globe. 1 week has passed, the base install of Mandrake 8.2 is rock solid. Without any protection from a firewall or packet filtering device the OS has seriously stood up and taken a beating. This latest version of the Mandrake flavor has received well over several thousand individual attacks and hasn't needed so much as a simple killing of a process or reboot. If you haven't taken a look at what we have going here. It is a must. The project has been named 'Simple Simon', and is available at www.sec33.com/page.php?page=simon.html. Check it out. Mandrake 8.2 is definately a winner.

Yes, if you're generous you can help people out and give them stuff for free but you shouldn't do it and expect something in return. I believe that this was mentioned in the Bible.

Yes it's unfair but that's how it is. Ask the ones who dedicate there life to helping people, very rarely do they receive something in return from the people they help and they even receive less recognition than most people.

  10. No more Open Source for me on Free Software Law in Peruvian Congress · · Score: 1, Troll

Sorry but I don't identify with MS and I identify even less with the Open Source movement. You have MS trying to use every illegal trick to destroy competition and you got the Open Source movement who'll make laws preventing the use of proprietary software. Sorry, but I just realised that both of them are a dictatorship and they're no good for me.
