I can't believe nobody has said tablet PC. Works like a desktop when you plug it in (USB hub and power are all you need), and it's a half laptop anywhere else (don't get one of the lame kinds with keyboard attached). Wireless is pretty much standard on all of them. If you're worried about external storage, get big a honkin' USB 2.0 hard drive and set it on your desk (lock it down too). That will set pretty much any college person for the whole year.
I'm not saying I'm not willing to pay for that convenience, in fact I think that's worth a good deal. The problem is I simply can't (not won't, can't) pay that much for the convenience.
I would love to have one - I'd use it all the time (I dont' play games much, but if I did, I'd use a separate machine of course). The problem is they're too damn expensive. The only one I know of with USB 2.0, one of my main requirements, is the new one from Motion Computing ( http://www.motioncomputing.com/ ), and I can't spend two and a half grand on a computer that slow, when I can get a low power desktop and monitor for just over three hundred.
but an Acura Integra ain't a 1 ton car. Actually, my friend's Acura Integra curbs in at 2350 according to the mfgr specs posted on the door frame. Considering he removed the back seat, spare tire, and flashy stuff from behind the two front seats, I'd say he's pretty close to an even ton.
If even a quarter of the american population put up even a slightly organized resistance, the armed forces would be overrun. Additionally, a significant percentage of them would refuse to fight american civilians.
How about you torrent an MHT of the page linked to? It's not a whole server, but it is the entire page and linked graphics, MIME-embedded in an ASCII file. Very useful.
That right there is one of the best things about watching a movie in a theater. Problem is, when I go with a certain best friend, she and I turn it into Mystery Science Theater night. Of course, most of the time half the theater is laughing more at what we say . . .

They use the standard ATX power connector. Personally, I usually use a 12 volt dc to dc converter, and use a power brick (though I'm working on a large 12vdc power supply). They work just fine off a standard ATX power supply though.
Also, if they do determine that it's a bug on their end, they will refund the cost of the call (the same as if there's a KB fix - I guess that's considered a bug). But it's nice not even having to pony up the cash for a while.
You just didn't read the right email. He sent this as part of an immediately previous email (in reply to a poster that mentioned the issue earlier):
Firstly, I want to express my utter disgust at Microsoft once again using the premise that if there's a problem in the process, the site says you need no updates (as opposed to saying there's a problem.)
FUD. Plain and simple FUD. I've required several patches that you have to call in to get. When the support person (I would normally say droid, but MS is the sole exception here - I have never spoken with anyone at MS that does not know what they're talking about - they know what they're supposed to and will tell you if they don't know what you ask) answers the phone explain that a KB article says you have to call in for a patch. They will ask for the article number, your name, phone number, and email address, and will send you a link and password for the file. Often, someone will call back a few days later to make sure you got everything okay. They've never asked me for billing information.
I would say that having an unsecured wireless node is more like putting a phone jack or water hose out on the sidewalk, not really near any particular house.
Put Jobs down for a pretty sombrero. It does what it does pretty well, looks good doing it, but hardly anyone else wears them, they often get in the way, and it refuses to do anything more, because no reasonable wearer would do more than wear it.
I believe he knows "Riti Sped" in person.

Probably related to many countries/languages using a comma where Americans use a decimal point and vice versa.
Fine. Identify the problem
Step one complete. Now they're soliciting interaction on developing a solution.

Eh, IE does all that too.
I have ruined your joke by not getting it. I'm sorry. If it helps, it IS funny if I go back and think about it.
Don't you mean "Master Blaster"?

I actually prefer the big controller. But I am a large person with large hands.
Usually because they're not really tested as well as the publicly released ones, I think.

Sounds like a suggestion for a solution to me.
