Till there covered up with flowers
In the back of a black limousine

    Talkin bout you and me

Oh we make one another cry
    Break our heart
    Then we say goodbye
    Cause our heart say
    We hope to die
Let the other one to blame
Neither one will ever give in
So were gazing at an 8 by 10
    Thinking bout the way

Whats happening to you and me
    God grant me the serenity
    To remember who I am
Cause your giving up your sanity

    Turn your back on humanity

Okay.... I guess all of the US, China and Russia will be only too glad to switch to GMT, so 12 noon would be in the morning or evening depending on where you are. Would you then expect people in those countries to start work at 9am GMT, or would you allow them to consider the local lighting conditions (caused by the sun)? Maybe then we could say "Okay, it's 9am here there and everywhere, but I understand that Mr Rostov on Vladivostok might not be out of bed at the same time as Mr Jones of London, so I'll ring him in 6 hours (or whatever) when he'll in the office.".... is this perhaps what time zones are for?

  17. Daft words.... on Carpenter Breaks Previous Scrabble Point Record · · Score: 5, Insightful

What annoys me about Scrabble is the dictionary used. The rules I possess state the Chambers 20th Century is to be used (actually a problem as my edition hails from 1908 and lacks a fair few words), but now you are required to use the authorised Scrabble (R)(C)(TM)(IP) dictionary which has a whole load of bollocks two letter words. No longer is Scrabble about vocabulary - simply memorising swathes of daft vowel/consonant combinations seems to work. Yes, there is a difference.

  21. Re:Reverse correlation? on TV Really Might Cause Autism · · Score: 2, Interesting

I think the increase is due to the public awareness of autism, leading them to suggest to the doctor that this might be the problem. It's not unknown for the doctor not to know what the problem is until it's been pointed out to them. This is especially true for the less usual problems that a general practitioner might encounter.

  22. Re:OMG! BAN TV! on TV Really Might Cause Autism · · Score: 5, Insightful
I disagree. TV (television) is based on broadcasting, watching DVDs etc isn't.
Okay, that's a little petty, but here's a real difference - people without TVs choose what to watch, when to watch it. People with TVs so often just sit down in front of it and then vegitate, accepting whatever crap is shovelled to them. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there (yourself included?) who will then jump up and shout "But I only turn it on when there's something I really want to watch!" The difference is that people without TVs choose to watch less - they are generally more selective. Speaking for myself, I have a lot of fun times with my wife and daughter - playing games, reading books, talking. I kind of feel sorry for people who miss out on that sort of thing because "There's something really good on TV".
