Two hundred thousand workers? WTF? I don't think so! That would be over HALF A BILLION USD a year on sallary for those workers alone. I seriously doubt that there are 200,000 people working in this plant...
It's funny you should mention this. As of today, my account is still banned from participating in moderation because I used mod points to mod up controversial comments during the great "mod" controversy of 2000. Or was it 2001? I haven't been able to mod since.
Did you even watch the olympics? Top competitors in timed events are seperated by 100ths of a second. These are humans competeing at peak physical condition where things like relative humidity and cloud cover have more impact on the outcome of the race than particiants' strategy. Computer games are a lot more similar to real world sports than you think.
I'm glad to see that the competition has made the monkeys running this gig a little more interested in making it better. Of course, it's not like there was anything to improve on to begin with... right? Anyway, I think these new 'improvements' make the front page look broken. But that just may be me.
Now that Apple is joining the upper eschelon of consumer products, it has to think broader than it's own niche market.
For instance, the MacBook was named such because of the possible tie ins with other proven products.
Apple will soon be announcing the Big MacBook Pro. It will feature a larger screen, two all-beef patties, a sesame seed bun, and be cross advertised with McDonalds.
Maybe these studies should look at why people who prefer one type of drink over another are developing a disease. Instead of saying that one drink or another prevents a disease. Could it be that people who are prone to liver disease are less likely to prefer caffinated drinks? I think at this stage in the study this answer is more likely than the "caffeine prevents liver disease" headline.
Puh-lease! With all the money these people spend on audio equipment, they could have just bought tickets to all of the live concerts they ever wanted to go to.
"...now we get to hear "WOOD FOR SHEEP!!" live over the network."
Heh, got to love Knight's of the Dinner Table references

1999 called and they want their dead joke back.
Good thing you posted here. You may have been tempted.

And read it here without all the funky highlighting.
The above link has much more detail.
Eh, whaddup doc?

"All of the D&D iconic classes are available (even poncy bards), along with the typical player races."
;)
But where are the monks?
Apparently they'll be released at a later date...
"Nothing for you to hear here. Please move along."
Thank GOD. But I still think the best option is to just dump a can of this paint on the offenders and then light them on fire.
Much more direct. And you don't have to listen to them yap to the person next to them about how their cell phone isn't working.
I doubt it. The current system is too embedded in China to be totally replaced by their own DNS system.

Well, the thing for the open source community to do would be to declare war on France.
Once war is declared, France will quickly embrace OSS.
Yeah? Well, yoiu haven't met the old guy living next to me have you?

This comment made my day.
Would you be embarrassed to know that kestrel was used purposfully because it is a type of falcon?

Maybe I'm a little late on the uptake here, but did anyone else notice that you can preview whole music videos on iTunes?
