Not all software is a product for sale, and in the real world there are deadlines and budgets. Users can deal with bugs, business owners can't deal with late, over-budget projects.
I turned off kdawson stories for awhile, then I realized how boring slashdot was without the tinfoil hat bullshit and turned them back on. I'm expecting Bat Boy to become an editor soon.
Nothing. What would stop the same malware from abusing any other part of any other standard API? Also, the average user leaves updates to their default value of "install when its available" so they won't think to install or not install anything.
Do you audit all of the open source software you use? Sure, you COULD, but you don't. You probably have better things to do with your time, though I do wonder about some zealots some times.
Oh, look, I guess WINE is a bunch of trolls, too... cause that's where they are at. Interoperability is apparently hard when you are dealing with things that weren't designed to be interoperated with, but don't remind a slashbot about that.
Nope, they are leasing me for 30 to 90 hours per week. They agree to pay me. I agree not to access my personal email from their computer. Its really a pretty simple arrangement.
Silverlight, WPF, and the rest of.Net 3.5 are documented. I guess building the core UI libraries that Windows uses from scratch, along with a.Net runtime is just a big job. Maybe that requires resources and some decent project management, two areas that Open Source is generally lacking in.
Every one of you worthless DRM crybabies needs to choke on a bag of dicks. Just so you know.
So projects should be managed on the whims of the developers? I really hope I don't get hooked up with whatever failshop you work for.

This is where fanboys decide the talking points for the next month or so and shit them all over the internet?

Thanks for reminding me, I've been meaning to get him/her off of my front page for awhile now.
I've been saying that since I turned off the second movie and turned on Gilligan's Island. What a horrible pile of shit.
INDIGNATION!

Me too! Wait, what? Shouldn't you be shitting this out on CNN or NYTimes or something at least tangentially related to your little copypasta screed?
Prisons already contract out prisoner telcom services, I don't see why this would be any different.

When they hit 1.0, it will be 80% compatible with Exchange as it is today.
Positive press is having a positive effect on the perception of a product? No shit?
Then use your PC, the devkit comes with a phone emulator.
Are you sure? My undeserved sense of smug superiority helps me cope with being trapped with all these idiots.

I guess the Open Source community should hire more or better programmers.
They nourish me.
Offtopic, eh. Failure to comply with groupthink seems more likely, but it doesn't fit in the dropdown.
You guise can sit here and whine about this. I'm going to go play some games.
So the reason you aren't getting the game is because you can't, not for whatever bitchwailing reason you posted about. Understood.
I think the point is that he'd rather whine until mom lets him buy a new XBox Live card with his allowance.
