Thats why I would recommend SpamAssassin. All spamassassin does is label the mail with a "spam level" it is then up to each individual user to filter out the spam at the user level, not at the server level.
A much better method for letting your 'correspondence' get through while other users spam doesn't.
I picked it up at OfficeMax/Depot for something like $50 and got a $30 rebate (it was listed on slickdeals.net). I then go over to eBay and buy cheapo ink from someone and buy enough of it to make it last for about a year. Total $$ spent, less than $70. Works good enough for me and the little bit of printing that I do. Even looked pretty good when I used the free borderless glossy paper that came with the printer.
Its a USB printer, so I can use it with my iBook and my PC, will someday setup the wireless printer through XP, but that is another post.
I'd imagine if they were troubled by "Spam Arrest" that "SpamAssassin" would bother Hormel as well. I know what you are thinking, SpamAssassin is open source, however... take a look at here. They are a commercial site selling UCE blocking email software. They do have a link to the 'real' SpamAssassin we all know and love.
"I remember my first PC w/ Win95 didn't have that key, so sometimes "ctrl-esc" still comes in useful, like on this one laptop that weirdly moves that key to the top right of the keyboard."
For the longest time I still had a keyboard without the windows keys here at work. And because of that I never got used too using them. I still use 'ctrl-esc' in fact I have never once used a windows key to perform a task other than wondering what the hell they do.
Unfortunately that keyboard died with a spilled soda and I brought my trusty Keytronic Lifetime spare from home into work.
That should be the next question in this chain: How many of you bring (or acquire via company funds) your favorite keyboard to the workplace to replace the standard Dell/compaq/HP, etc?
This Keytronic Lifetime keyboard is my favorite keyboard. It has the big, longer ( but not backwards-L shaped) enter key, large backspace and large \ key. My only complaint is the stupid windows keys.
I think browser spoofing is a very bad thing. Yes it lets you load your page correctly, but it will never let the "powers that be" know that people use something other than IE.
I have stopped telling safari to use the IE "user agent" because of this. I want people to know that I use something that isn't Microsoft and sooner or later this is going to make a difference. Especially with the fact that M$ has officially dropped their IE for OS X.
"FWIW, you don't need the command key, just ctrl-click will do. "
Maybe it wasn't obvious in my original post, but I was replying to a comment about being able to open the google search in *NEW* tab window.
Ctrl-click works fine if you want to open that google search in your current window, but you need the command key if you want to open it into a new tab.

That isn't the case for all the gamers out there. Each CPU cycle you have that makes your machine faster than the other 12yr olds means more frags fer j00.
"I would, for one, but my friend David from the UK points out that such a device hidden away from sight would be ideal for storing data you wouldn't want confiscated by the police. Nestle a Martian box under your attic insulation if you have something to hide. "
Who knows what the people at PBS have to hide from the cops.
Lately I have found that the majority of/. stories are delayed mirrors of Google News Sci/Tech section. I generally check Google News for the stories, then come here about 2 hours later to see the dialog about the story. I knew this story would be making its way here sooner or later.
Thanks... been using it since late 1993 (started using it as my EFNET nickname). Had a 'drugs and behavior' class while a freshman at the Univ. of Pittsburgh and thought that first portion of the name 'D9 THC' was rather unknown. So I started using it and rarely anyone knows the real meaning of it. (No I don't like that crappy band).
I have gotten used to using CTRL-TAB to tab between open Opera sessions. I like this better because I don't have to tab through my other, non-Opera sessions to find the window I am looking for.
I saw that/. was offering ad-free browsing for a measily $5. So I went off to paypal and sent in my $5. I read/. rather often, so I didn't have any problem giving them some cash.

Here you go.

Alt-Space X

I think you missed the point, let me quote it:
"with 1 push of a keyboard button"
We all know that windows leusers can't remember more than one key at a time and it has to be labelled.

This has driven me crazy for some time now. Is there anyway to get the default jaguar terminal app to save its last window location?
Damn I forgot and that ... and your mention it of made my fingers muscle memory instantly remember the keyboard combination to pound that code out.

You can do this as well with the keyboard, if you don't have your USB mouse attached...
Instead of right-click, use (on my iBook):
ctrl-applekey-mouse button on a *highlighted* word, then select 'google search' with just a regular click.
