easier way than checking the server logs for the image loading is to write a simple php script that makes a transparent gif/png. Then use the php script as the src of the img tag and 'do stuff' with that. ;) not sure if you would be able to extract the same amount of info as server logs this way...hmmmm

crazy to share the band with the military...it realy does seem like licensing without guarantee of service...

The military can shut you down and creat exclusion zones, you have to pay and there is no gurantee of service and they could theoretically raise the licensing fee at a later date. Seems like shaky ground to me.

  20. VOIP on NYT Reviews VoIP: Vonage, Packet8, VoicePulse · · Score: 1

VOIP has really taken its time to arrive in products such as this one. I remember a friend of mine working on such a project as his Master's Degree disertation, sponsored by Nortel. This was about 5 years ago, in the UK, and always struck me as odd that more was not seen about VOIP.

I would most likely snap this up now if it were available in my area, as I got pissed because the phone company wants like 80 just for activating the phone line which, i might add, is already in place...its daylight robbery. So i refused, and have no phone and no internet. But hey.....

    and

"SCO's Unix licensees are asked to certify that none of their employees or contractors have contributed any Unix code to Linux."

    and

"The letters include an olive branch as well as a threat. "Once you have reviewed our position," the Linux letter said, "we will be happy to further discuss your options and work with you to remedy this problem.""

the "Legolas snowboarding down the stairs on his shield" incident left me feeling really outraged for some reason...like it really cocked things up...that was so lame...like it made the whole film ridiculous...

the battle scenes are the highlights of the films, if for nothing else, due to the shear sizes involved...battlefields full of bodies...would be harder to make such a widely appreciated film without this.
