Fine then, be a gashblanab. What do you mean I can't use non-words? If enough people start using it, it will be a word. Then you'll be sorry. In fact, you'll probably feel like quite the gashblanab.
That's right. We shouldn't teach children values and what is right and what is wrong. We should teach them to be afraid. Constantly afraid. They shouldn't be thinking for themselves, and asking themselves whether something is the right or wrong thing to do. They should just immediately not do it for fear of being beaten. After all, isn't that what Christianity has been teaching for as long as it's been around? Just do what we tell you or you will BURN IN HELL FOR ETERNITY!
Seriously though, shouldn't we be teaching kids to make their own decisions and form their own opinions of what is right and wrong? Wouldn't that lead to a more productive society where we could actively question and debate moral issues and consequences? As opposed to your suggestion of sticking with the exact moral code that you have been taught and never questioning it, because if you do you'll be subjected to some form of physical punishment/torture?
I really think you should just take a step back and ask yourself which solution would lead to a more progressive society? Fear, or reasoning?
What happened to Copyright being between the artist/developer and the customer. How is it right to have these a "Copyright group"?
If someone has breached copyright on a particular product, it should be up to the original developer of that product to sue them.
In the case of GPS, I would say people are getting worse at using maps. Some people who were generally just not as good as others at reading maps previously would struggle and take longer to find their way using a physical map. Now those same people will just buy a GPS, and rely on it 100% of the time. When it does fail, though, often those people have no clue how they would find their way using a map. Before GPS's they would just struggle, since they would have had to have some knowledge of how to read/use a map; now they would just be completely stuck.
You could say the same about the Department of "Defense". Since when was invading countries in the Middle East for reasons that are not immediately clear (while still managing to lie about the reasons) considered "Defense". It's been a very long time since that word was taken literally by the US.
If I recall correctly, Sony never actually claimed that Anonymous were behind the infiltration. All they said was that the recent DDoSing from Anonymous was annoying and somehow distracted them enough for someone to leave massive holes in their security. It was really just a retarded way of trying to shovel blame on to someone else, but they were not actually pointing the finger directly at Anonymous. They were merely saying Anonymous it was partly Anonymous's fault the PSN was hacked.
Anonymous is like the Al Qaeda of the internet. You can blame pretty much everything on them, whether they did it or not. I mean, it benefits both sides in these cases. Sony can just yell "he did it!", while Anonymous take credit, whether they did it or not. It's a win-win situation for both sides. Much like how terror attacks are dealt with. Except replace Anonymous with Al Qaeda and Sony with the US Government.
It doesn't matter what their motives are for charging too much. They are still charging too much. I honestly don't see how their expected growth in any way affects how over-priced they are deemed to be when they still cost more than they're worth.
Seems like SE might represent the end of a word, and BE looks like it represents the end of a sentence, like a full stop. Or they may indicate whether something is a verb, noun, adjective or some other syntactical system.
I live in Australia. Often I have seen cases where it would be cheaper to buy an American copy of something + pay postage fees than to buy an Australian copy (which is inevitably almost twice the price). That's why I turn to piracy. Because if you can't give me a viable reason to buy your overpriced product, I'm not going out of my way to pay for it.
So when little Johnny coming home from his first day at a new school gets lost on the way home and can't find his way back he spends in the night on the street?
Yeh, fair enough.
More interesting would be the situation where there IS a crash (I'm assuming the car won't be absolutely perfect) between two of these cars. Who is held liable for the crash?
Did anyone NOT know this already? Seriously, it seems like every ad, TV show or movie I see, they are using Apple computers or products. Honestly, I realised this quite a while ago. It does frustrate me though, as it seems completely disproportionate to the percentage of people who actually own these products.

But I already waited an hour and a half in line at Supanova to play the demo.
I know this is slightly off-topic. But does anyone happen to know whether /. is blocked in China?

Just blame Al Qaeda, it works equally as well.

In Melbourne there are a few places that teach Greek at highschool. Although that may just be because Melbourne is the Greek capital of Australia.
Open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur?

I was under the impression that they were all actors. How is this something new?
http://www.theage.com.au/technology/technology-news/facebook-party-invite-mayhem-youth-could-face-jail-20110316-1bwi3.html (I suck at linking) >Underage male charged and faces 3 years imprisonment for copy/pasting an already public announcement on facebook. >Police threaten to deal "severely" with anyone who, having a laugh, show up to the address in question. Yes, this is what we are stuck with in Australia.

There are no words to describe that level of stupidity... I can't believe people can actually be that dumb... Wow... I...I... I'm lost for words.
We do above and below differently in the Southern Hemisphere.
Believe me, I know plenty of people whose Apple products start going bad as early as 2 years after purchase.
I don't even want to think about the concept of sex in zero gravity. The end result could be the most expensive mess you've ever made.
