Sadly, I feel the general rule of thumb with contracts between service providers and the public these days is that they can do anything they want and absolve themselves of all responsibility for anything.
You miss one of the key aspects to Livejournal, the whole community aspect to it. LJ lets you incorporate your friend's journal entries into your own pages, find people with similar interests etc. That kind of thing just isn't available if you take the DIY approach.
"We intend to allow parts of our programmes, where we own the rights, to be available to anyone in the UK to download so long as they don't use them for commercial purposes."
Note the *parts*. All this is going to provide is a bunch of clips.
Knowles actually destroyed the Rollerball remake too. Despite being flown to a screening by the director on a private jet, he returned to eviscerate the film in his review.
I don't see it making the minimum wage person's life more difficult. It's not like it's causing them to work unpaid overtime, they're still doing the same hours in the day.
If cashiers were having to deal with people dumping their CDs on the counter all day then I'm sure that would reach up the food chain. I think internal pressure from employees is more likely to achieve results than letters from the public.
A point from the technical briefing that just took place at JSC. Apparently there is no capability for performing an EVA to look at the underside of the orbiter.
My earliest memory is of running away from my mom on a visit to the stately home of Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, England.
I sneaked through a door and threw myself into a chair and started sulking over something trivial, as small children do. Anyway I wasn't alone in the room and distinctly remember this man saying "Well hello there young man! What can I do for you today?" and smiling at me.
It was many years down the line that my mom told me I had actually wandered into the private residence and that the man was actually the Duke of Devonshire.
With regard to Brothomstates (who happens to be a Finnish mathematician), you can download his first album 'Kobn-Tich-Ey', free in mp3 from his website.

Electronic Music 101?

Anyone who wants to experience electronic must give IDM a try. IDM (nauseatingly) stands for Intelligent Dance Music and at various times can be all or none of these words.
From a geek POV, artists like Autechre, Aphex Twin (aka AFX, Polygon Window), Brothomstates, Arovane, Phonem, Takeshi Muto, Markant and Aoki Takamasa should appeal. These artists primarily use their computers to music. Some, like Autechre, go to the lengths of writings their own software.
You can hear some of these and others at Warp Records.
I give all the films I see a rating out of 5 on my website and generally start mulling it over before the film has finished. I really wanted to give this film 5/5 but it never felt right, 4/5 seemed like a better fit.
Large parts of the film felt pretty flat, though technically accomplished and well performed. At several points I was thinking 'okay, let's just move on now'.
I guess that for me it was like a date where the girl is hot, you've been looking forward to it for ages but when you're sat in the restaurant you realise that the spark is missing. There's a few pregnant pauses in the conversation so you fill in the time looking at the eye candy ; )
So, very good film overall, perhaps even top 100 material but it does lack a certain something that would justify it's current IMDb position.
Just by way of related information, the new Aphex Twin album 'drukqs' contains copy protection on it's European continental distribution through Zomba.
Funnily enough, China has one of the most stable political environments in the world. A near miracle considering it's vast and diverse population.
"The question therefore is: will on-board internet links make life better or worse for travellers? And the answer is obviously "yes"."
;)
Hmmm...
I think 'better' or 'worse' would have been more obvious answers
The idea that there have been 'more massive accidents' since privatisation is a myth.
Virgin Radio are also one of the few commercial broadcasters who stream in Ogg:

Greg Dyke's actual quote:

As a matter of interest, do any of your customers tell you to mind your own business and just fix the damn computer?
It's a lightsabre. Some people may be a little awestruck by it, but ultimately it's all for effect.
The UK's military comms satellites are called Skynet.
I wonder if I should be afraid?
...some of us never got rid of our C64s in the first place. Hell, some of us have Vic20s too!

Though everyone in the UK and Ireland would regard one billion equal to one thousand million.
They will also be resupplied with a Progress launch tomorrow. This will give them enough supplies to last through until the end of June.

Perhaps they didn't use Furlong because he still looks exactly the same as he did in T2. The guy doesn't get any older!
You mean like my label does at VF Recordings?
;)
It's pretty amazing how good 32kbps Ogg streams sound.
