Microsoft became the dominant PC OS (groan all you want, you know it's true) so it didn't HAVE to do anything.
They were windows, and most programs were created for windows and windows alone.
All they had to do was keep making more of the same, but that's not going to cut it for much longer.
Things are being ported with greater and greater ease to both the Mac and various Linux Operating Systems.
For years, the main thing holding me back from a Linux OS has been video games and my not wanting to screw with emulators (such as Wine)
However, with things like the Humble Bundle releasing several good quailty games for linux, and services like steam coming to Linux , I honestly think in the next few years I'll probably dump Windows.
Consequently everyone who picks up Kid Icarus quickly comes to the same realization: this would be so much easier with two circle pads.
My realization was "Gee, I sure wish I could use the D-Pad for movement!"
The way the circle pad is shaped, any amount of perspiration on you fingers immediately causes it to be uncontrollable.
And with fast paced games like Kid Icarus? Unusable.
I want them to battle it out, but not in court.
I want them both to go and try to make the very best phone they possibly can and fight for each and every consumer's pocket.
Oh, but that would require more money and effort than just throwing lawyers around, wouldn't it?
The US school system is designed to turn people into mindless worker drones.
Kids are taught not to reason, but to leave reasoning up to their superiors.
I'll admit, this laptop seems nice, and I'd be curious what this could do.
Sure there's tons of reasons not to get this, such as, well, apple. And the horrid price point.
But this kills any interest it has for me:
and the fact that this thing has no user-replaceable parts at all.

If you're going to throw fines you'll never be able to collect, might as well put it in the billions, and then blame him for the economy crashing.
'Just giving people devices has a really horrible track record. You really have to change the curriculum and the teacher.
That's right, I've seen this go horribly wrong before.
And it's never going to work on a device where you don't have a keyboard-type input.
I'm going to disagree here though. It worked for pencil/paper for decades, no keyboard input there!

The time for HTML5 will come; it's just not quite there yet.
I've been saying this for awhile now. HTML5 is neat, but it's still not anything more than that right now.

This is a very interesting point, thank you for your response. :)
The goal of language is communication, but multiple languages greatly hinder this.
Can someone give me a good reason for language diversity?
Now's a good a time as ever to start wearing gloves i guess.
Well gee, maybe if companies didn't treat their workers like shit and constantly loom an axe over their heads, they'd have a higher retention rate.

I've seen so many exact Tetris clones that I thought it no longer had any sort of copyright.

Professionals can now work on the go ... a boost with the 128 MB RAM memory
Exactly what professional can work with such little RAM?
I don't even think you could connect to a VM properly with that...
You can't encourage people to ... associate me with incompetence with stupidity, and douchebaggery.
No dude, you did that on your own.
Saw this article on the BBC's website this morning.
CEO and board members make a bad decision, the workers at the bottom end up paying for it.
Best of luck to those being let go.
'We occasionally resorted to "playing" with the data that had originally failed to show the expected result,' he says.
So, what you're saying is you're from the marketing division?
It has served them well in the past. :/

Touché good sir.
wouldn't you LIKE to think that this site is just a LITTLE above that?
Not really, and you're foolish to think otherwise.
Why should Slashdot stoop to THOSE levels?
You tell me, but as everyone complains on a daily basis, it seems to have done just that.
WHY are you comparing Slashdot to that?
See above.
This "well, it could be worse!" mentality has grown REALLY OLD.
When you get old, you tend take what you can get and chill the fuck out.
