Be honest those of you who have a smart phone, when is the last time you saw an ad on it and seriously thought about even clicking it, much less spending money on what was shown?
This isn't the first time that a U.N. agency will consider the idea of Internet taxes.
In 1999, a report from the United Nations Development Program proposed Internet e-mail taxes to help developing nations, suggesting that an appropriate amount would be the equivalent of one penny on every 100 e-mails that an individual might send. But the agency backed away from the idea a few days later.
They've tried once and failed, lets hope they fail again.
Nothing
If it bothers you that much, install local filters.
Granted, if your search leads you to porn, I'm pretty certain it's because it's what you meant to find.s
I stopped reading before I even finished the title.
I'm assuming even the biggest idiots on this site (like myself) know better than to listen to anything that spews from that "news" site.
We've gotten e-mails from customers who've purchased scissors in a clamshell, which would require another pair of scissors to open the package
I wonder how many people ran into this problem, and went to the store to buy another pair of scissors, only to get home and realize they still have the same problem:P
As someone who's applied to these "hard to fill" positions, there's one huge reason why they can't fill them.
Unrealistic expectations.
These companies usually demand several (5 was a common number I saw) years experience, and the amount of pay they offer makes even a novice in the field think twice.
As apple has shown us over and over again, if you can't outdo your competition, go through legal channels to remove it.
I guess Microsoft thought it'd try it as well.
I've been saying since they announced it, it's going to go from $38 to $3.8 rather quickly.
Facebook doesn't produce anything, it doesn't sell anything, and there's no charge to use the service.
Why exactly would I want to invest any amount of money in it?
Now we know why Amazon has been pushing so hard for taxes, because it gets a slice.
Hey Amazon? You're not the only online retailer. Start pulling this and I'll just stop using your service.
I have a friend who works at HP, and he's constantly tell me how they're overworked due to constantly lowering employee count.
I'm sure cutting out 10% of the workforce, shoving even more extra work on everyone else, will just be a huge moral boost./sarcasm
People will just start trolling behind proxies/on public networks.
I'm sick of hearing about lawsuits in response to blog posts.
Especially so in this case, when funny junk was in the wrong.
There's no such thing as a good news source these days, but that doesn't mean I won't call out morons like Fox on their BS.

government agencies seek to keep weaknesses in operating systems (such as Windows) secret.
God forbid you simply keep these machines offline.
Nope, gotta keep them open for people to find and attack.

They'll be twice as expensive to make up for that phone bill you're not paying.
Can't have your bill going down now!

My comment was directed at the AC, not at you.
300,000 bytes is less than 9MB, idiot.
Google, as of late, you're just as f*cked up as microsoft.
Sad, but true.
Maybe I should patent "the ability to be an idiot on a computer".

...EULAs can't effectively hold up with something like this in court.
If only my phone service was that cheap.
Wait until they find out that TPB is only one of many torrent sites.

it is time for the federal government to do more
Too bad this is completely missing the mark.
Another contender for the world's most empty social network.

'Desires are out there,' said Cohen. 'We have to learn how to control ourselves.'
Then do it. Learn to control yourself and leave the internet alone.
The internet does not need to be made "more kosher" for you.
