I used to work at ICSA (many years ago). I'm familiar with their AV testing procedures. Even then, they were very stringent. If AVG passed the ICSA test as the link you posted indicates, then it's good enough for me. The remaining differences between AV software is just bells and whistles.
In this case, it wouldn't. The bracketed text just represents the presence of an anti-spamfilter technique being used for the purpose of the explanation
I'm out of town for a while and can't get the exact brand name. It came as a free gift in the box of a rechargeable black light bug zapper I got at K-Mart for about $20. I believe the brand name was Sunbeam.
The free repeller (about the size of a keychain) worked for me. I guess if your body chemistry is different, that could alter it's effectiveness. I haven't gone camping yet since that last time. I'm hoping it still works as well as it did before.
They work for me. I had my doubts, but a 'black light' bug zapper I got came with a keychain mosquito repeller. I am a mosquito magnet. Summer starts for me after the first bite (around May) and ends after the last scratch (around October). I probably built up an immunity to Lyme disease, West Nile, Malaria, and others by now from all the bites I get.
I went camping this year on a rather humid weekend. I carried the active electronic repeller on me all times while outside. We never did use the large blacklight zapper. The first two nights were fine. The freebie battery that came with it went dead on the third night and I got several bites that night. Now I keep a set of batteries with my camping gear. I can hear the thing when it's on if I hold it up to my ear, so I know when I need to change the battery.
This means that if enough people goto this same cache, a path will be worn in the woods
On that train of thought, I would suppose the real problem would eventually be the SUV owners with built in GPS systems wearing tire tracks to the cache spot and inadvertantly running over hikers along the way.
Then again, at least they would be using the SUV as an off-road vehicle for once.
But what if you fling yourself near someone else who's already stuck to a bus, but has their north pole facing your north pole. The resulting opposition will fling you back against a lightpole or deflect you under the bus.
Actually, the best use I found for those magnets is for those damn traffic lights that can't magnetically 'see' my motorcycle while I sit at a left turn until somebody comes up behind me. With one of those stuck underneath, I must look like a freight train at the lights.
Just eat your dinner off of the last disposable DVD you watched.
Finally saw a Segway in action.....

Rent a Segway

It was at a local Flea Market. Some 6'+ guy was coasting along on the thing in tight crowds, silently running over people's feet, I'm sure. Sure was easy to spot with his head sticking up above the crowd.
The guy was obviously there to show off because the other 3 people he was with were still using their feet to get around. Or maybe they were there to carry the stuff he buys because he surely couldn't carry it with him on the Segway.
Maybe the next time I go to that flea market, I'll ride my motorcycle through the crowds. At least I have saddlebags to carry my stuff in.

You mean I never needed to type in that activation code?!? All this time, all I had to do was hit Enter?
Color: It doesn't help me tell them apart when it accidently gets mixed with the Monopoly money.
Size: I've been to Turkey. They have different sized bills also. I hated how the smaller ones got lost inside my wallet. They also don't fold/roll up well with each other. Although they've been watermarking their bills with Ataturk's image for decades. That was good idea.
Weight: Make them the same size. It'll be easier to fake a quarter with a nickel in the vending machine. The arguement about same sized coins is useless simply because having them different sizes makes a vending discriminate coins so well, adding to their convenience.
I suppose this circles back to bills being the same size for ease of use in vending machines and bill changers.
I was lucky enough to have several people my age and older waiting in line behind me at the convenience store confirming the fact that the SBA is still LEGAL TENDER
The clerk was in her late teens or something. Born after the SBA had stopped being minted.
He's in his parents custody on $250K bail
Man, his codename must be "Zero Cool"
every game coming out of the pipe would be the same, homogeneous product, using the same libraries, graphics, sounds, whatever.
You just described the standing state of Shoot 'em Up Games(tm) for the past two years.

hmm...two comments in a row about AVG.
i smell shill here.
I hope the rest of the readers here will see through this desperate cry for publicity.
So what!?!?
You sound like a shill trying to protect Symantec's business interests.
If AVG does a better job than Symantec, I'll use it and let my NAV subscription run out. It's certainly priced at what the market will bear.
Blow your credit to hell and buy only the things you can afford to spend cash for.
Pity the fool who tries to use your identity if your credit is shot.
The drawback is you'll only be able to rent poor quality dwellings and buy cars with 100K+ miles.
He could always go out and get a new brian
Afraid not... Brian's hanging out on a cross somewhere whistling tunes at the moment.
Just run an ad on their favorite television station when you need to get a hold of them.

Well, that's a Nazi attitude if I ever heard one
I don't think these printers will make a nice juicy steak as well as they make blenders

So, there's millions of childish mosquitos saying:
"I'm not touching you.. I'm not touching you...."

Who needs the RIAA music? Get your music here
You may suprise yourself and find a lot of music you like. Pay the actual artists for their music and not the music mafia (RIAA)

People start Geocaching. People can stop it!
Use a modest sized green rubbermaid container for your cache. It's waterproof and it doesn't stand out in the scenery. Makes for a challenging find.
Use common sense. If you want to plant a cache, don't put it near another one. Check the list first.

The change machine at work dumps handfuls of 'alternate cash' when you change a $5 bill. You get:
(3) Sacagawea Dollars (gold ones)
(1) SBA Dollar (Susan B. Anthony)
(4) Quarters (generally recent state quarters)
Same goes for SBA dollars.
