You may not personally see anything wrong with it. Some people don't personally see anything wrong with murdering someone. That doesn't mean it isn't against the law. I stand back a bit and notice there's more to this comparison. You're trying to compare moral issues on legal grounds. I wouldn't compare murder to "illegal" ROMs. If you murder someone, you can never make that person whole again and restore their life. As for copying a forgotten about ROM, and legal bullying aside, the original copyright owner of the ROM can be made "whole" by an effort as minimal as the offender paying a license fee or other compensation.
Life is an inalienable right. Actually, indefeasible might be a better word. Copyright is written on paper and can be modified, argued, or revoked.
I had to recover my connection after the service was accidentally shut off. Everything was working fine before. I had a Linux box acting as my router, so that machine was the one connected to the cable modem. After the service was restored, I got the same Comcast redirection stating "My operating system is not supported". However, I could still surf the net from any computer routed through the Linux box. Very weird. I still couldn't surf directly from the Linux router. Knowing how much time I would waste on a tech support call, I found that if I set up a proxy on the Linux box, and set my browser to localhost for the proxy server, I was able to surf on that machine. I don't know the mechanism behind it, but it's still strange I can't surf from the Linux machine directly, but I can surf from that machine through a proxy server running on the same machine.
So it's wrong for the police to bust people who are counterfeiting AND selling CD's for a profit? That's not exactly filesharing. So should counterfeiting anything be legal? Or does this only apply to the RIAA? Precedence set for an RIAA Witch hunt in 3... 2... 1...
Who put that government there I wonder? Whoops, that was the people of the United States. You want to blame them for what the RIAA is pulling now? Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos
Taking the lead out of solder, etc. Is that why my solder tastes different these days when I use my mouth as a third hand when soldering? I miss the old lead based solder for it's quicker melting times.
I still have a good sized roll of thin gauge lead based solder for my detailed work. I keep it in an asbestos container buried under the cement floor in a six foot pit in my basement. Gee, I hope there's no radon.
But, it's a good thing they removed the lead from my solder now. At least I can now feel safe within the painted walls of my 77 year old house.
So it's still Microsoft, then. Good point. But only in spirit as it was only based on original 6502 Microsoft BASIC code. It wasn't until the 128 where Commodore BASIC was a Microsoft licensed version again.
Even though Devon mentioned in the pilot episode it was "Completely fuel efficient"
I hope for your sake you've made that up and didn't really know that off the top of your head. Sadly, I did know that off the top of my head. Someday, I shall show you my Geek Card.
But, just to prove to myself that my memory isn't failing, I just now looked up the script that had that quote.
Knight of the Phoenix Part 1 (HTML Version) (PDF Version), Page 21 of the script, you'll find Devon's quote. Text search for the word "efficient".
That's why children aren't responsible for their actions (for the most part) until they're 18.
That said, and I'm well over 18 now, I just finished adding all the episode DVDs to my NetFlix list. That's because I was the kid who spent his allowance on the S&H costs to get the detailed KITT schematics mailed to me.
Not quite. Even though Devon mentioned in the pilot episode it was "Completely fuel efficient", either in the pilot or first series episode, Michael stops and fills up the tank at the pumps. He even got the gas for free because the attendant had gotten spooked after trying to puncture the impervious tires to get a quick tire sale out of the transaction.
Or kind of like a vehicle lease where you get a fully loaded luxury car for only $300 per month, only to find out that you went well over the miles at the end of the lease and have to pay for the extra miles used. It ends up costing you more than if you paid $550 per month for the car and own it outright for less money overall.
You would have known this if you had read the fine print when you bought the damn thing. If you want a Linux notebook, then buy a Linux notebook. Talk about a sense of entitlement... OK. I'm at a "typical" HPaq order page buying a "typical" Compaq laptop
Show me where the fine print detailing the "Windows Only" warranty requirement is........
You could just line your living room with lead... and this way I'm getting 0 interference. I have an 82 year old house with original coats of paint under many recent latex layers. CHECK!!!
E. Coli that may be in your digestive system produces GAS!!!!

Does having a state issued vanity plate, "LINUX OS", make one a fanboy?

I agree, but the New and Improved batteries might still be much cheaper and less hazardous.
But what can you do with an English degree? It she doesn't teach, the only other thing she could probably do is open a Poem Repair shop.

I don't drink, can't stand Idol, and have trouble following the plot of my own reality show (my real life), much less something on TV.
:)
I guess that just leaves me to simply enjoy being fat, dumb, and happy, without the addiction.
Now excuse me while I do something useful, like watch a roll of toilet paper run through a shredder.

Now, how do I go about grounding the paint.
Also, while I was on Wikipedia, I found out that Sinbad had died.
