What will this even prove, if there were conspiracies I'm sure they would have added them to the exemption pile. If not the conspiracy junkies will yell out that the documents were destroyed or put in the exempt pile. People will believe what they want, its all cloak and dager when it comes to the government.
People are always saying that PC gamming is going the way of the doto. But when I look at this list of independent games they are all PC games. Independent games or games that most studios wouldn't pick up sometimes are great and can drive a new genre. Now I believe that the main reason why you will see more of these games on PC is that you don't a developers kit and most people have the machine already. Costs are then lower and so its nothing to a good programmer to go and develop for the PC. So I ask if PC gaming does go away where will these developers end up? Or maybe PC gaming(like I believe) will be around forever. Or maybe console makers will start making a profit off the console and release the dev kit for free like the gp2x.
I wonder how long he estimated he left his lights on and how long they actually were on. On anouther note I would have thought that an always on device like the fridge would have ranked alot higher on the cost range. I mean I can go weeks without washing my cloths, my friends stay away but sometimes thats a plus. The fridge on the other hand is always plugged in and doing something even if its not cooling. I also wonder if he included the light in the fridge as part of his math for lighting. Lord knows that things always on...
that they were going to buy these guys out http://www.22moo.com.au/ use the patent and sell it as a feature. 32inch protable screen would rock. Though I could see people wondering into traffic as they were not smart enough to take it off while walking.
Can you tell me how this would constitute a anti-trust lawsuit? They are no longer releasing software for their old system which is technically 3 generations old. You can still find other software packages, and even makes them more viable solution. If anything they are giving other people an advantage. If anything they are just no longer supporting it. Your saying they are creating a global monopoly in what? they are not forcing people to use vista and xp because some of their new software doesn't work on it, its because its not supported and they don't want to.
First of all the Crusades were brought on by crhistians, my point had nothing to do with if was part of christian ethics. My point was that you can be Christian and go kill people, and that it was a part of that history. So Christians as a generalization is as peacful as Islam in that regard, with people on the extreem side and people not. You do not associate Christianity with the Crusades, so why should we associate Islam on 9/11? The actions of the few should not reflect the thoughts/beliefs of the many(this is not in regards to Islam or Christianity but everyone I'm just tired of people making assumptions as the parent did). Maybe my original post was not clear.
These are all sites easily found with a google search on muslims against 9/11. Did you even bother to find any evidence of your statement that none had spoken out against it? Some of these people are Muslim scolars, people raised in the middle east. Yet they apose the terrorist attacks? You are just ignoring whats in front of you because you don't want to hear it. Remember that these terrorists are called extreamists. Alot of the rest of the Muslim and Islamic population in the middle east is afraid of them or don't understand enough to protest. Even so you can still find hundreds of instances on the internet not to mention Muslims that I have spoken to personally.
"The Free Muslims Coalition is a nonprofit organization made up of American Muslims and Arabs of all backgrounds who feel that religious violence and terrorism have not been fully rejected by the Muslim community in the post 9-11 era."
Because the game was about christians first off and muslims aren't really christians now are they? Your other point was about Christians being a peacefull people, well I've met a number of muslims that are peaceful and don't kill, and I've seem alot of wacked out Christians. Christians are peacefull yet Bush who claims to be one is fighting a war in Iraq? Have you read history books and learned about the Crusades? There are no peacful religions besides the people who do nothing. When converting a group of people you are going to face adversity, if you are trying to attack someones current beliefs, and this runs thick just as much in both religions. You also generalize Muslims as terrorists, but did you know that their are different groups of Muslims in the world Muslim meaning the "one who submits (to God)" of course theres more too it then that, but you have to understand that these people do have a simular faith. The Qur'an is kind of like the book of latter day saints it follows the bible and then muhammad added to that because according to his followers he was a profit. Muhammad didn't even hate Judaism and Christianity according to wiki he "said that he had been sent by God in order to complete and perfect those teachings." There is alot more, Muhammed did fight a war, but I believe it was initially started because Christians in Mecca were afraid of the growing Islam religion(which is what I think you were getting at instead of Muslim) and persecuted the Islamic people. Muhammad fought back and won. Also remember that the Qur'an like most of the other books of the Bible was written after the death of Muhammad. Who knows what really happend, as the people who write history make history. But my point is, that you seem to be judging the Islamic religion based on your own hatered, and I would not doubt that you would wish them dead just as much as some Islamic extreamists(which Christians have enough of) bomb, kill, and hate. Next time you generalize like that think about how a Christian society(can't tell me Bush hasn't thrown god into the mix a few times) can go and start a war and kill thousands of people and be considered peaceful people? Most are but there is the generalization again. It goes both ways, so be prejudice towards violance but don't go around saying that because hes from the middle east and has a weird name he wants to kill you. Because there are alot of people from America that probably want to kill him.
Sorry if its one big rant with bad grammer you can mod me down but I just needed to get that off my chest. Oh and I know my spelling sucks, but at least I'm getting help.
well there are plety of other reasons why this is not the best choice as well. What if you had checked your vote online at work and the IT staff sees this and then posts it all round the office, who voted for who? well then you might have people bothering you about politics all freaking year round or in the next election someone comes up to you and bothers you until you vote a certain way. Now this isn't going to effect everyone, if you asked me who I voted for in the last election I would gladly tell you for who and why. But if you are able to pressure someone ever into voting a different way then they feel I don't think democracy works.
The office is just one way, if someone finds that paper like your wife, girl friend, parents, friends, they may not hold you in the same regard judge you, and your not just going to throw it out right there someone might pick it up. This method you speak of for verfying your vote doesn't work. If you want to verify it, try doing a paper system and put the ballot in the box yourself, and sit there and watch them count it. Seems like the most logical way of verifying a vote.
I have no problems with electronic voting systems they just seem to be quite unreliable as I don't think they have been tested enough before being put in the wild in some cases. I think alot of public testing should have been done as well as maybe doing a paper ballot and a electronic ballot should have been used together so that people could verify the the electoral votes on the electronic ballot to the counted paper ballots. Seems like a good transition to me but what do I know.
Did you read the whole artical about fort lauderdale? At any point it didn't raise any issues about toxity of the tires but the fact that sea life(algy plants and other things) would not grow on the tires and looked relativly the same as the day they were dropped. The other issue was that tires were rolling around the bottom making it impossible for sea creatures to make their home their as well. So the area could support life still but the tires make it impossible. Once the tires are removed it seems they expect life to continue as normal as no long term effects have been established in this artical. If anything it may prove if life returns that there are no toxic bi-products produced from tires, and that sludge has as much chance sticking to them as the algy and other sea life did. Hopefully it works as a good cleaning source for future generations instead of dead reef.
I think the game is tux racer or what ever it is that comes with some distros. Or you could consider linux to be the ultimate game dun dun dun. They should make a pirates of silicon vally 2 where they have linus and the internet bubble crap or something. Though I don't think linus lives in silicon vally:(. As for a graphic novel they should have linus be a ninja fighting pirates, and they could have a type of magneto character in bill gates where they are going for the same goal but ones crazy. Linus would be like a professor X guy. Cool. NOW GET TO WORK.
Your assumption that he edited the video so that it looked bad and he just happend to be the perfect timing may be correct. There is also the possibility that the said officer had been doing other things to him before, such as putting his knee over the mand throught intsead of trying to restrain his hands and hand cuff him. Maybe he was a biter, but he didn't look to be trying to bite him at that point. The other things is in the police report(someone else spoke of on the site so take this comment with a grain of what ever) that the suspect is reaching for the officers gun, At the point when he starts to punch the suspect the guy isn't really moving, though his hand is somewhat close to his gun. After the officer punches the suspect a few times we can see that the second officer pinning him down is now trying to handcuff him, why wasn't this done before? heat of the moment/ he was calling for backup because this guy had resisted, who knows? The fact of the matter is that the punching at this point didn't seem prevoked, if it had I might feel differently, and maybe at anouther point durrent the arrest the suspect had tried to grab his gun and he punched him or something such as that(which I would find acceptable) but in this instance the office is out of controle, he is either being a dick or being hot headed and not able to controle his actions. Either way their should be some kind of suspension and this incident put on his record. As for if he should be fired, thats something I don't know if I would say, because though he did something wrong sometimes contex has something to do with the sentance. In anouther post someone said if bad guy raped my wife and i went and shot him thats still murder, well it is, but he probably wouldn't be sentaced as long as if he went and just shot the guy for no reason. Sometimes shit happens, it doesn't make it right.
Are you thinking in terms of America or Japan where this happend. I don't know the law in japan, so I don't know if its a criminal offence but you seem to be refering to American law. Japan law might be different, though if I'm wrong about your assumption I'll just look the other way.;)
I'm kind of lazy, not an American and haven't looked but before but how long did it take to count votes in the states before the electronic voting took place. Granted that electronic voting may take less time in some cases, but alot of people seem to be either afraid of it or untrusting of it. The point that I'm leading into is the election of George Bush Jr. in his first term. I remember Canada(which does have a lower population than the US) having their results in their Prime minister election long before the Americans had their President decided(excluding absentee ballots). If I recall this had to do with a bung up of Florida which I believe was using electronic voting in some regions at the time. I can't recall now but were some of the slow downs because of the electronic voting or were they just with manual recounting of the votes themselves?
I don't know if I was 100% clear on what I was saying. I was agreeing with others in saying that this isn't mudslinging, its telling it how it is, it was a public display of racism. Things like this should be let out in the open, the man even knew he was being video taped but he just had to bash him. Displaying things like this to the public can only do good. Those who oppress it are only doing "Evil". I agree that video and photography can be a great equalizer.
On a seperate note that doesn't include taping some celeberty on a toilet, that does nothing to advance anything. Perverts:0
When you have footage of someone doing something they shouldn't. Its not like it was made up, you should know their point of view oh issues of race. There is a differance between bashing someone with lies and exagerated truth but something like this I think is totally aceptable.
I have used vista and I must say that it does have a few new features that are good. Theres a search function(sounds kind of plain) that allows you to find anything on the computer in a second once the system has been indexed. hit the windows key and type 'rege' and have the registry editor open up. Also the recovery features of windows is amazing, if you boot off the CD it will attempt to repair the OS on its own which actually works. It also has a feature that allows you to make basicly a ghost image of the system and load it up from the windows recovery enviroment. The wireless setup is made alot nicer, you can even see non broadcasting ssid's(doesn't say the name but you can see them). I'm sure that alot of people will think its great. Now that said I don't like all the restrictions that are implemented. There is no way to remove whole keys in the registry, DRM all over the place, and sharing files isn't always a treat unless you put in a public folder. Over all besides the Aero gui the system acts almost like XP and I found on the dual core system I was running if you moved the mouse around enough you could get the processor usage to jump up past 50% now thats messed. I think that its way too bulky, hell I thought xp was way too bulky compared to 2000. It all comes down to how much of a system you got to run it though. Also a bug I found with RC1 I don't know if its been fixed in RC2 is to hold down the windows key and 'E' and the system will die because it doesn't limit the amount of explorer windows that pops up and the system can't handle it.
It does have alot of extra featurs that make it nice a pretty and more user friendly. But you may have been able to add 90% of these things to a service pack for XP, though it is suppose to be more stable. I didn't see any indication of this as I had it crash a few times on a Vista ready computer.
I always want to get more time on the internet, I always get suckered away from my family and friends. I have to tell them its me time and we needs the porn. I wish I wasn't joking.
The MPAA and such may not be going after the RIAA its self but they sure arn't ignoring usenet. They have been going after NZB sharing sites like nzbzone and dvdr site.
RELEASE FORMS, I think this is a good place to put in a release form. Tell them, if you want to be allowed outside at recess your parents have to sign this form, other wise your stuck inside scubbing the floor.
I know that a release form could probably be overturned but there needs to be something, I think 90% of all parents would rather their child outside having fun doing what they want(with in reason) instead of outside walking around in circles saying pass me ball, pass you ball. On that note is duck duck goose considered a contact sport? What constitutes a contact sport? Patycake, are they kids not to have any physical contact from their peers? Whos to say were someone would draw the line on such a broad rule? Banning certain games like red rover(running at the other kid could cause problems) might make sense(I don't think so) but where is the line drawn when you bad all physical sporting.
I wonder though if other operating systems like Linux and Mac OSX are really that much secure than windows, or if the target is the mass of Windows users. I'm not saying OSX and linux are just as unsecure I'm asking the question are they really unlikely not to get a virus? I do believe that even though the chances of getting a virus for linux isn't exactly as high as for windows that their are virus scanners for it. AVG I believe is one example of this. I don't think its simply that the OS is more secure, if Windows was just as secure as OSX and Linux and what ever else you want to throw in the mix I'm sure that you would still be seeing viru's and people complaining about the security. I think the big thing is that Microsoft has a reputation in this department.
Or if you look at it from the other point of view you could take it is as the peace keepers were invading their airspace so they kicked them out. I don't remeber Iraq ever leaving their country to shoot at peackeepers, but that doesn't matter.
Iraq wasn't invaded because Saddam never let inspectors come in or anything like that, he was invaded because he didn't retire his position. I recall this on the night that they went to war. Bush had won that political fight before the cannons started blazing, he may have been able to win the war politically but no extension was given. Some people see that kind of compromise as not getting anywhere but as long as talks are on going, no WMD are found by the inspectors I see that as progress. Now whos to say that Saddam leaving his position would have helped Iraq anyways, next dictator is still a dictator.
Leave all of that out of it, do you think it was wise to start a war in iraq when the U.S. still has troops fighting over in Afganistan? Do you think we would still be there if the U.S. focused completely on that area with more troops? These are the questions that need to be asked. Was The United States ready for a war on Iraq. Yes the U.S. was able to go in remove Saddam and create a new democratic system, this is a big win for anyone who likes freedom. On the same token the U.S. could have maybe found Osama and cleaned out the rest of the terrorist groups out of the country that had UN approval for invasion. They have alot more allies in that fight, and invading Iraq has weakend those ties with their allied countries, if not with their governments than with the people in those countries that re-elect those politicians into their government, remember the U.S. isn't the only country that does it. Some even do it better. So whos to say who will be supporting the Afgan mission when its done. Some countries will most likely pull out before the U.S. if only because it can no longer get the support from its people.
The Iraq invasion seemed like a half hazard thought out plan, it could have been at least delayed with talks and inspectors comming into the country, if things didn't pan out then at least then the U.S. would have had more global and local support.
'On whether the war was one worth fighting, Sgt Meadows said: "I don't care about Iraq one way or the other. I couldn't care less. [Saddam] could still be in power and, to me, it wasn't worth leaving my family for; for getting shot at and almost dying two or three times, there's nothing worth that to me." The wireless setup is made alot nicer, you can even see non broadcasting ssid's(doesn't say the name but you can see them).

'On whether the war was one worth fighting, Sgt Meadows said: "I don't
care about Iraq one way or the other. I couldn't care less. [Saddam]
could still be in power and, to me, it wasn't worth leaving my family
for; for getting shot at and almost dying two or three times, there's
nothing worth that to me." '- www.slaw.neu.edu/students/nuslaws/soldiercomments
