yes but i would of thougth they would of gone after someone as big as Daimler-Chrysler... Oh wait, nevermind.
on the other end, it's kinda sad that such large 'American' companies like the already hurting car industry are the ones being targetted... anyone else pick up on that?
i think their strategy will be to attack smaller companies first, i didn't realize that autozone only had 3000 stores... doesn't seem like a lot when i thought about it.
they'll prolly attack those with less capital to waste on lawyers who are more likely to settle.
wait, you must mean like, super mario bros 1, 2, and 3?
for clarification, super mario 2 was another game, the japanese game was the exact same thing as the first one... but even 1 and 3 are the same... exact... thing
wanna go back farther? pac man, pac man 2, mrs pac man, oh boy... i could go on and on.
Not only is this another factor, but it also brings to mind another factor, coding for yourself...
Ever have to do a simple but tedious task like rename a 1000 files? there's two ways to do it... one takes skill. Employers like to know that you know the faster route to a goal.
Not only is the best way to learn is to teach, so when I give a piece of code out , not only do I learn what others want, what they like, but how they would of done it. I become more efficient and more effective. In the long run, I get a bigger paycheck by having better skills.
Bonus: trading code, having others improve on your code, for free.
I think this is a little more paranoia than we need.
If you bought directly from budweiser, they would know what you paid for, if it was cold, etc. So pipe down.
They can't really single out a person, or name a customer, there's no privacy issues here, at all. Just a company doing inventory control, to an extreme.
phone's are my personal favorite, they are easy to do and you don't get shocked too hard... the light up ones and the caller id's are the best to do, changing leds and such. speaking of changing leds, someone will mention the dreamcast or ps2 LED mod
but phones are simple, and don't hold a big charge... although, there's nothing like a good 9 volt zap in the morning to wake you up.
how can you tell they never went through it? usually they don't fire the computer up, but just clone the hard drive directly.
so unless there was a piece of scotch tape that had to be broken to take out the ide cable to the hard drive, it's impossible to know.

I get email addresses all the time, it's their work address. I've had anything from payment histories, account balances, and even the history of comments on their computer emailed to me.
If you've ever worked in tech support, this is 100% true, even the guy who doesn't help anyone but has the best call times gets promoted part.
i hope salon is happy, because even with the obvoius copyright infridgement, they just made a lot of money today. People see how good the articles are, and they pay for it. Before you go whining about copyrights, how bout you ask salon.com how many new accounts they had yesterday, and how many they had in the last hour.

when you take all of those together, and divide 70 million or so between them, it's not as hard as a blow as we thought it was... (score +1, interesting)
on a side note, did this really need a second story (score -1, troll)
they will probably want cable, still, $588 for that hardware isn't a *bad* deal. plus it has a warranty probably. hence, it's most likely a good deal.
i'm NOT including the dialup, people won't be stuck with a $288 contract, they will have a $588 computer. pay it all up front and cut them off. no problem.
i'd actually recommend this to my friends. with the printer and monitor, it's a good deal. just... have to reinstall windows for the dummies, or install linux for the extremely computer literate.

"with intent to render such bank bill"
he has to be planning on spending it.
i think 'shaving' is what people used to do
shave off a layer of the older (1964) quarters and nickles, that were made of silver i believe.
now quarters have those ridges around them.

as far as i know, there are really no 'acceptable' levels, except with radioactive materials. Everything causes cancer, just depends on how much.
wait, he spent $249 on this, when he could of spent ~$299 on the full 15gb version
