What is needed is a quick way to temporarily try using a different DNS, to see whether that's the problem.
I don't get it.. do you even care what's the problem as long as it works? Shouldn't your dns automatically resolve via any alternate DNS servers you've listed? Like google DNS and open DNS?.. I assume you've set those as alternates
Thats good for people who know how to change it, let alone know what DNS is. 99% of the population doesn't which means this does have ramifications for accessibility of a site. Though admittedly, it appears to be a decently small problem.

Absolutely and unequivocally UNTRUE. Drought hurts the poor FAR worse. It hads to do with the percentager of income devoted to food. The wealthy spend less than 5 % of their annual income on food. Price increases due to drought, and the need to buy water instead, have barely any impact. The poor, on the other hand, generally spend 50% of their income on food, and that entails very careful shopping, as they would spenfd more but rent has likely taken up the other half. ANY price increase is devastating...
If you remove the harddrive and mount it, can you see the files on it from another OS? In order to save them? If so, then do that, wipe the drive and reinstalliOS. Or is that impossible in an iDevice? I don't have obne so I don't know..

Apple refuses to offer security updates for Sbnow Leopard, opening up it's users to being the first OSX users ever to be potential trojan carriers.. in fact I finally found one (can't recall the name), that was dealt with by Apple on Mavericks (apparently mostly used by DHS and the military, how it got on my 'puter is a mystery), but not Snow Leopard. Since Snow leopard is the last OS that can run PPC apps.. and that is NOT "obsolete".. Many developers simply refused to rewrite their programs yet again for Liopn etc. So upgrades are not a possibility, even if I could afford the $13,000 in preograms lost if I lose PPC compatibility. If 14 year old XP is still viable as an OS, why isn't 3 and a half year old Snow leopard? I can bank run the lates flash videos, HTML5, most games, and especially, still run Photoshop CS..which is PPC only. I haven't got $900 for a new intel-upgraded copy...

I have an upright "old people's" trike and because you sit lower on it than on a standard bike, it has a flag. The flag is pretty much standard equipment for Florida old people's trikes.
This morning I was sitting out on my front porch and an old lady (mid 70s, I'd say) zoomed down the street on an electric trike. Dead quiet, fast as most cars go in our quiet little trailer park. 20 mph at least. Her hair was flying out behind her, and her flags (the real Kool Kids have 2 flags on their trikes) were bent aft at maybe a 30 degree angle.
I can go that fast on my 7-speed low-rider beach cruiser bike (which I made out of used stuff, pretty much), but my cruising speed in more like 8 - 10 mph.
So I'm selling my old trike, then I'm going to look for a new (or at least newer) one that I will motorize. Or maybe I'll just figure out a dual-front wheel setup for my lowrider bike. Hmmm....
Yup.. I'm also a member of the white hair club.. Got an electric scooter. Would have loved to get a Motorino.. these are the caddilacs of electric scooters. Unbelievable quality. Didn't have 2500 bucks though.. and that's where they start. Worth every penny though. I got a davinci instead. Looks like a typical european scooter. I stopped riding regular bicycles after my high blood pressure worsened, and it's really nioce to finally be able to make it up these hills. The idea of a recumbent isd good for wind resistance but they really *are* unsafe in traffic. Best I saw was a completely enclosed aerodynamic electric scooter with a flywheel to keep it upright.If you do it yourself with a trike I'd enclose it somewhat, and do some research on batteries, especially LiFePO, and good hub motors. Or you could buy one already done, but I'd avoid getting a cheap one, incidentally., as you get what you pay for with these things.
I'm going to save up for a Motorino though!
