Does this allow you to stream a PC based pinball to OSX? If so then I'm going to get another PC and set this up.. my Windows Boot Camp partition seems to be compromised by (possibly) that encryption virus (I got an "RCMP" notice that all my files were locked because of pxxn in my PC.. I know it's fake because I have absolutely none of that, due to my faith) , and I've lost my installs of every pinball game ever made. I have the original installation discs for many, but the tweaks to make them, compatible with Vista / Win7, and the "download only" ones, and all my no-CD patches, and all my Visual pinball is gone. All my application and document folders are "empty". I'll need to start from scratvh, and this looks like a good way to go about it.
From RCA, Warner (70's and up), Arista, Capitol, and a whole host of orther companies that have ALWAYS had musicians sign forma they didn't or couldn't read, or were never even shown?

Some regulation IS essential, such as preventing them from gouging the consumer with restrictive and over the top data plans, considering the popularity of online video such as Netflix..
I discovered a few years back already, that older CDs would just rot away. Considering that one of the biggest marketing claims was that they could , in principle, last forever, it's more than a bit disturbing. A LOT of albums were reissued for a limited run during the initial CD introduction to see if they would sell, and then promptly went out of print.. *again*! Seeing as these are the most likely candidates, being the early pressings, for rot, digitizing them has developed a sense of urgency. But that's not the worst part. Most CD ripping programs have error correction that compensates for the rot, but this means you're not getting a true match of the original master. Everybody poo poo'd Mobile Fidelity's gold discs, but now it does seem that it as a well considered approach to making high end Audio CDs..

I like the elevator analogy. The fact is that even when prognostications get something right--they inevitably get the context, implications, and effects all wrong. That's because they get one invention or innovation right, but every invention and innovation has to be understood in the context of the million other inventions, innovations, and social changes that surround it.
So one person guesses in the mid-19th century that we will have horseless carriages in the future--but also thinks they'll run on steam engines and cause great depletion of our wood and coal supplies. Another person forsees the internal combustion engine, but thinks its only practical use will be in industry. Another person forsees high-grade steel, but thinks it will be used just for girders. Another person forsees an interstate highway system, but thinks it will be used for giant horse-drawn land trains. No one person truly predicts the automobile and its actual effects and implications. No one person puts it all together.
That's why all these reports that come out predicting the future (beyond the obvious) always crack me up. Such arrogance. About the only prediction guaranteed to be accurate is that the future will be far different than any of us can possibly imagine.

I just vomited... I simply can't grasp the sick machinations of the US government. It really *is* "worse than has ever occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will."
What I see, and I see a lot of it here on/., is a complete lack of comprehension on the difference between words that sound the same but have different meaning, such as to and too, pair and pare, see and sea, etc.. there's many more, but I just can't recall them off the top of my head. Compared to this, phrases like "y'all" are pretty inoccuous, being accurate representations of actual language spoken in the south. Even the "spelling nazis" lack a firm grasp of the difference between spelling and grammatical errors, and typos..A simple understanding of the keyboard would make typographical errors obvious, and therefore not deserving of comment. I'm a good example of this, sadly, because since I suffer compromised physical dexterity, although well read, I make typos, rather than spelling errors, yet I have been the target of these "spelling nazis" frequently;-(
Really funny.. coming from an American rag. When I see a semblance of literacy competence coming from any American continent's resident, I'll take the Germany concern seriously...
What I can't figure out is how they'd even get funding for such a brain-wacked out premise. Did they lie to the investors too? They must have had a significant cache of $ to pay Ms Mulgrew, for starters..
How come the US has so many exiles for supporting the constitution? Shouldn't supporting the constitution be legal instead of a threat to ones life and liberty?
I get the idea about maxing the RAM out - faster speeds and all that. What I don't understand is how moving to an SSD drive saves the cost on a new computer?
