    Let me break this down to Barney level:

    1- People have a right to "peaceably" assemble under the first amendment to the US Constitution.

    2- When their assembly is NOT peaceful, it is unlawful.

    3- The US Supreme court has repeatedly held that blocking traffic, footpaths/sidewalks, business entrances, etc. are NOT considered peaceful, and are therefore unlawful.

    4- These protestors were blocking a path.

    5- The protestors were warned of the unlawfulness of their actions.

    6- The protestors were warned they would be sprayed.

    7- The protestors got sprayed.

    There are almost no black people in the Northwest tech cities. While filming the show "Leverage" in Portland they had to ask for more black extras for the backgrounds to make it look more "American".

    Where I think AMD really fell behind was they were not able to afford the kind of R&D on the manufacturing side that Intel does for each new process.

    This is why it's so good now to be at least a few process generations behind Intel. If you're on the rusty edge of fab technology you get Intelâ(TM)s old equipment for pennies on the dollar and it's been well maintained unlike used equipment from Asia.

    They work ok but are very sensitive to multipath. I still use a few in old HDTV servers.

    We mainly used UYK-20s with old UYK-7s for fire-control. Those babies could take abuse. We ran ours with battle-short switches enabled because in the comm shack it would get so hot the ECL chips on the CPU boards would give errors and halt unless you set it to run until the machine melted.

    Yea, we used tape readers for program loading, mainly mylar but as you said some patch tapes were paper.

    was working with a system using magnetic core in 1991. IIRC there was 64000 30-bit words internal to the CPU crate and 2 external units of 256000 30-bit words. The system was phased out during 90s.

    The policies themselves are the dangers to human lives. Wikileaks exists to make sure this stuff gets out while the responsible parties can still be held accountable.

    NBC will probably sell it off at a huge loss in a year or two.

    We can certainly hope so.

    And if the new owners turn it into nothing more than a home for reruns of all of the Star Treks, Space 1999, UFO. Firefly, Lexx, Andromeda, FarScape, Bablyon 5, etc., that would be awesome, and probably pay off better than the current mess that's happening now. But if they could keep Eureka and Warehouse 13, that would be even better.

    Reruns of UFO would be great.
