Deploy software: Tivoli or other software distribution tool of choice.
Push updates: Tivoli & possibly some packaging suite (Tivoli Autopack would probably work fine)
Schedule scans: AT should work well for this. Plenty of other utilities can be used if the gui requires clicks instead of command line params. AutoIt comes instantly to mind.
if you aren't using managed distribution of software to your PCs in the first place you've got some issues. i mention Tivoli cuz its IBM and can work with Windows as well as Unix/Linux servers and workstations.
CD rot doesn't occur only on PDO discs, I have some others around that have suffered the same fate.. I've seen at least 15 PDO discs that have rotten, and while bronzing is the easiest way to tell, there's a slow erosion to the sound, a creeping fuzz that gets louder as the disc gets closer to bronze. Tthe first few tracks may sound fine as the outer edges tend to bronze up/rot first.
PDO has replaced some of these for me (when I've bothered) but one in particular was a gold CD and wasn't replaced as such.. Earlier comments said gold were less prone to rot, but this is the worst sounding of the lot.
I've used google for finding all sorts of things via index pages.. searching for "index of" or "parent directory" with mp3 or whatever else you're looking for will often turn up at least a little somethin' somethin'.. though now I'm gonna hafta go lookin' for drunk nude teens!
The THPS franchise new this too, and THPS3 and THPS4 bot came out after the PS2 was released but were available in PS1 versions as well.. Not having a PS2 at the time, I bought the PS1 version of THPS3.. and then the PS2 version when I acquired one.. I stuck with PlayStation 'cuz of the backwards compatability.. I want to be able to play STRIDER!
I've just been reading his comments posted in response to his write-up, and I really like his views on free online distribution of his works and on copyright laws. Definitely worth reading if the site isn't/.ed yet.
More people WILL listen to/view your work if it is available for free and little effort. I know I'll check out his book.. May not buy a copy, but I hadn't intended to before this article so he's lost _nothing_.
Now if only the RIAA/MPAA/(your evil org. here) would wise up. I'm NOT goin to pay $8.50 to see Gigli in the theater, I'm NOT going to pay $20 for the DVD.. but if I want to download it and laugh at it and talk about it with my friends (who, in turn, MAY do one of the above and chuck some money at it) then they've lost nothing as well..
You have to also consider the word-of-mouth value in releasing it digitally.. There'll also be a chunk of people who wouldn't buy it, but would read it for free.. and then tell a friend, who may buy it, or read the e-text and tell another friend, etc..
yeah, great 'toy'.. just wait until you step on one of them sharp LEGO creations in the middle of the night..

However, other PC's also included synthesizers at the time, and they didn't get sued.
uhh... the other companies weren't using the name "Apple" quite possibly.. its not about the ability to make or play music with the computer but competition in the music realm from like-named companies.
I believe they still have to pay for that, it is just cheaper to pay for 30 seconds of a song vs. a whole song if you can get the recognition accomplished with that.
penny-arcase + porn = $.24 cheaper than the truck stop.. er.. quarter "arcade" i usually go to!
Will the Omega Mus be there?

Not really. Zombie would imply dead. It "resembles" a zombie movie but the dead aren't coming back to life.
I enjoyed the movie quite a bit.. I went into it expecting a so-so zombie movie and am happy to say that it far exceeded my expectations.

Did someone forget to tell you that you don't have to use the "I can download it cuz I own it on tape/vinyl" excuse with Apple's service?
