You can't get any cool chemicals in them today because of safety concerns. What is the point of a chemistry set if you can't take off your eyebrows?
All that aside, my favorite toy when I was young was my handed down set of wooden blocks. I had enough of them that I could build massive structures, and I learned enough of basic enginerring that they didn't colapse on me. I couldn't choke on them and as long as my mother kept half an eye on me while I was young I never got more than a small bruise from the colapses. All of my children will have old fashioned block sets. Simple toys that don't force play in one direction are the best.
Even if the computer never over heats dust and oils and other icks can still kill a computer. I once was trying to fix a women's computer that had stopped. I opened up the case and the entire motherboard was covered in oil and fur. Turned out she let her cat sleep on it all the time and never cleaned it. All that direct exposure to animal bits just killed it. She had to buy a new computer.
I now religiously check the dust levels of my computers.
Minor off-topic rant here: It is incorrect to refer to Israelis as Israelites. Israelite refers to a person of a certian religion/ethnic group in the bible and biblical Middle East. Israeli refers to a citizen of modern Israel and does not always imply Jewish though most of the time it does. </rant>
Except what suit would lower himself to play pokemon on his tiny phone. This assumes he can get the rules something which in my experience is immpossible for non-geeks over the age of 12.:-)
Just why is reciting the pledge every morning so important? I had to do it everyday in elementary school and it didn't make me any more patriotic. Instead it made one in the class an object of minor ridicule because she had to go outside while it was recited. I always used to make strange sentences instead of saying it as it should be and that got me more than a few notes home.
Yes, cell phone in the head was my first thought. Only problem is that the cyber-phone takes up too much essence. I'd rather spend my scare essence on more head memory, or possibly a set of boosted reflexes.:-)
Unfortunatly their ads are at the top of the page, followed by "top news" and then the links themselves. However the first two returns for Scientology are the Scientology homepage and Operation Clambake. I wonder how long it will be before AllTheWeb is threatened.
Aside I'll need more proof that this thing is more accurate than google before I would consider switching.

"I made the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs"
How's that for Star Wars and bad science?
There is in one of the non-canon books somewhere an attempt to explain that line by saying that hyperspace is about well you can shave distance off a trip and therefore Han's statement in A New Hope is not pointless. I prefer to think that Lucas doesn't know what he is talking about.
Never, we'll always be shorted by those jealous PC gamers:-). I am very disapointed by this though. I was also under the impression that the Mac version would ship with the PC version. I suppose I just have to go back to worshipping Blizzard for keeping D2 and LoD on the same disks.
I wasted so much time in class playing games on my Ti-82. I can only imagine what I would do with a PDA. Just set me up with Rogue for PalmOS and I'll never pass another class.
There are already problems with students putting formulae into calculators. I would only think this would get worse with a PDA. With a calculator you can ask and see that the memory has been reset without much worry about lost data. A PDA stores other things though and so it would be alot harder to check that it has been cleared or that the student isn't using it to cheat.
It is annoying that you can only access webmail from a mac and is the one thing keeping me from fully shutting down my hotmail box. That and I need a email address to send spambots to.
Movie that is most likely mediocre eye candy vs. a major city, giant lost piles of cash and annoyed people. Hmmm, I don't see how any studio could even afford to pay for a shutdown city.
Good to see someone else is reading about crime solving cats. My tenative summer reading list: Reread the Lord of the Rings, Hobbit and the Silmarillion. Actually get around to finishing the 80 gabillion computers books on my shelves. Shelters of Stone, I have fond memories of these books from high school when I discovered they had sex and were school approved. Finish Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood before I get dragged off to the movie. And as always a random selection of fantasy from my shelves.
I can give you my reason for recently switching back to macs. My Thinkpad 600 has been nothing but one hardware nightmare after another. While it may not be a widespread problem between the contast repairs and windows dying on me twice a day I gladly plunked down the extra cash to get myself a G4 tower.
I've gotten so used to the noise of my fans running that I can't sleep without them. Its amazing how well a dual proc G4 acts as a white noise machine.
What about the spam that doesn't have links in it?
Or for that matter has anyone ever looked at how much spam has broken links?

I would say that ethics requires them to do so, but then I turned on the latest finacial news.
Ethically they should disclose who pays them to sponser links, but will they; not unless forced too.
Classic case of Mr. Left Hand not speaking to Ms. Right Hand.
Clearly Sony music and Sony hardware are at cross purposes and most likely have no common oversight or even any communication.
As long as the labels are clear and prominent. None of this "Sony Music Trax" in clear plastic small print on the back of the box.

Because most companies have marketing people to hit them on the head and say no, this is not appropiate.

I have a mac, I'm stuck until November which is exactly when I won't have time to play.

ok, Whoever modded this didn't look at the link. Its the cache of goatse.cx.
Thank you, my eyes did not need that before my morning caffiene.
I thought domain name stealing/squatting had pretty much ended with google.
Oh well, sadly it appears that Dotster has enough server power to avoid a massive slashdotting.
