    The pSeries has hardware validation built in. It a hard shows failure, it is shutdown (if nessary) and hard tech is called.

    Yes, the box makes the hardware call. It is freak to come to work and have IBM service sitting at your door want into install a hard drive or I/O Card... and the machine is still running.

    And now most of the time, they change it while the machines is active.

    Some one lese wrote about google, it should be in this listing too, even if it is using a in-house developed DB.

    Now take look at Xwindows. There is no them and us so X is static - dead?

    Now look at Smoothwall GPL vs IPCop, one was fork from the other. Smoothwall yesterday annouced GPL 2 version. It includes many features that have been in IPCop for up to 2 years. Smoothwall went away from the GPL users years ago, now with IPCop showing that users want and need growth, they have moved the project agian. - Alive.

    It is the them and us that gives to growth. A single monolihtic project is dead, even if it does not know it.

    Thats a joke! Into my hotel room?

    Less see a thosand doors each with it own scnner. Then the secured wiring, can not use 802.11 here. Now all that wiring goes though a closet or two per floor. And of course those closets are locked.

    Hell, they can not get those rotating key locks to work all time. Besides the maid always has the key.

    That will be a big waste of cash.

    So you live in a nieghborhood of big fences and large bad dogs. I bet there are even a few broken cars in the drive ways.

    About realtors: well you answered that quite well too. It tells that these list are BAD for commutity in general. Because in the end all it leads to assume all nieghbors are bad for nieghborhood, and that life sentences should NOT be in public.

    My Z-80 machines and thier predoressor had them too.. yes back to 1970's.

    It was purely a cost / benfit design. Why the were not better used. I bought SCSI controllers in the 80's becuase of the DMA and direct memory write. Made my machine cost more, but they ran ALOT better.

    Shoot the Z-80 had double registers AF & AF', BC DE HL and BC' DE' HL', so when an interupt came in - instead of pushing to stack -- you just flipped the registers and away you went. Very slick, also hyperthreading (same basic idea, but when page fault ocurs instead). Also the Interupt Vector Table was also nice. The interupt device had the lower order of the address and the Z-80 had the high, those tow part pointed to a jump table that pointed to actual code to run. This way the state could be stored between interupts, either as new lower address in the device, or as change of address in the jump talbe.

    -- If you do not, then this list is meaning list. Becuase you would not allow your kids and your neighbors to meet. You would have great big fences and mean dogs.

    -- If you do, then this list is meaning list. You will be each other house often, you will have thanksgiving and other family time together.

    So which world do you live in?

    Now having this list, it now makes realters responsiable to inform new buyers that a pedophile or other sex offender lives in the area, and makes the house values go down. Else the realter is going to be sued big time.

    It is better layout. Include in that heads up displays and better control layout.

    All that could be shown from two Italian plummers -- The action must happen in the field of view, if you want some one to react.

    Does that not define "heads up displays"?

    It is not different times.

    It is not smarter or better trained users.

    It is about UI desdign.

    It is about understanding the human that is doing the clicking and what is the value of that click.

    The GOV guide lines shows some of that. You try to remove annoyances and learning curves. Use words instead of codes. Make it easy to look at and that the eyes follow the flow.

    We have had this same issue when screens were 24x80, or smaller (anyone, remember 6x40?).

    Lastly, where most sites have taken the biggest setup, is allowing google or other search engines to index their sites. This allowed the user to simply "step" directly into website where they need to start and not navigate though lots of bad panels to the one panel they needed.

    But how many circuit? 10 Outlets - 5 duplexs, can still be only 1 circuit @ 15 amps. Then again it could be part of the bathroom or kitchen or .... So it is evenless if you want to eat or groom.

    That would equate to 32 Amps @ 110V. About 1/6 the average US House is wired for. If the house was built prior to 1960, with GAS stoves, then that would be equal about equal to total electrical power available.

    For the US the standard is 15 Amps @ 110V shared over 6 Outlets and / or Lights. So a single room may have 4 duplex outlets (8 plug points) plus the lights on a single breaker.

    In the house I am in now... 6 overhead lights, 12 Vanity Lights, 4 power outlets (8 plug points) all on 15 amps. No wonder the light bath lights go out when my wife plugs in the a blow dryer.

    Would be good, I tried to have one created.

    Goal was two fold...
    1) Create a card that allow for full remote administration with full screen, keyboard, mouse ability. (KVM / PC-Anywhere / VNC)

    2) Allow the local PC's CD-Rom / Other drives be available for remote system. (Remote thinks it has CD-Rom available at boot)

    The card would have a NIC coming out of the back with SVGA, Keyboard, Mouse Connecors so local admin could be made it there was service issue.

    IBM new blades boxes system to have some like this built in so the blade enclosure has the connections and the CD-Rom built-in and you assign it on the fly to which blade you want to use it now.

    55% is horrible and 50% is even worst!

    What they have done is come up with plan that can people vote without added paper work like absentity voting. It a weather a storm, and maybe a power failure (telephones tend to work).

    So what would have happened on election day and the North-East went dark?
