OK, maybe you were just trolling, but with your low UID I will give you a chance.
What drive manufacturer do you think is good then? From random reviews I was starting to think that IBM was one of the better ones. I have purchases several Western Digital ones and have had too many of them fail (for me that is). Therefore, I have been looking for a better HD manufactuer. Who makes the most reliable HDs today?
Or strap it to a desk as its intended purpose, turn up the bass, then convince your SO to have sex on the desk. In the middle of the action turn the unit on and enjoy how your SO exclaims, "you really make the world shake!"
"So championing the cause of the little guy only counts until the bidding gets high enough."
That's my favorite quote. It made me laugh, then cry. I am glad to see mainstream media ridicule these puppets we call leaders so blatantly. For a second I thought I was reading The UK Register.
It was all down hill after GW Bush started to use the term "inovation" when referring to Microsoft. The conspiracy theorist in me says that he was bought out. Maybe he slipped when he said it?
I am disgusted after hearing about Thursday's SSSCA hearings. The computer, something I have loved to use for over a decade, is now being neutered thanks to media companies. Disney is one of the main proponents of this bill. I am also disgusted on how Disney is at fault for copyright extension - something that is hurting the collection of public domain works.
I made a decision on Thursday to boycott Disney. I have been planning on taking the family to Disney World or maybe go on a Disney cruise. Not any longer. I am not even going to let my newborn watch Disney movies.
Sorry, Disney, you lost a potential costumer. It's your fault you lost me.
already saw the last few episodes of season 3. At least I think "Dog With Two Bones", ep.3/22 is the last one. Stupid creators released the episodes in other countries but not the US. BTW, before someone jumps on the "you're stealing" bandwagon I will say that I have cable and would have seen these episodes later anyways, and will probably watch them again when they come out.
Well, maybe they ditched all the load balancing and extra hardware and placed only these machines as the webserver. It's a new benchmark: how long does a system last a nice/.'ing?
he deemed there was "insufficient value" in Seattlement (Private Edition)Version 1.0.
So who else thinks that by version 3 there will be an approved settlement?
Most tech and mainstream news sites have some article about the denied proposal on their main page but they are all pretty much the same. The Register always shines in their own way though.
From cnnfn there is a mention that the judges reasons are:
Judge Motz said he was not satisfied that there was enough value to the settlement and that the charitable institution would have been insufficiently funded.
Further, Judge Motz said the settlement "would raise antitrust concerns from the perspective of other software manufacturers" because the donation of free software could be construed as "court-approved predatory pricing."
Both these issues have been raised by many people and posted here on slashdot in the past.
Personally, I found the review linked to be pretty useless.
I would tend to agree. I am trying to setup a video capture system around a Matrox Marvel G400 (it's old but I already own it). I have read that Creative's Live! drivers are rather bad with regards to latency. In other words, it likes to hog system resouces which is bad for high CPU and HD demanding video capture.
BTW, small rant... doesn't the phrase "covers pretty much everything you will want to know" , cancel itself out? Is one allowed to use "pretty much" and "everything" in the same sentence?
The janitors at Ithaca college (New York State) use twin, 11 story (I think) dormitories to display the last two date digits during new year's. For a week before the new year they display the old year, then quickly display the new date on new year's. I'm don't think that it is computer controlled. They may have people actually flipping switches, or maybe control them all from a breaker box. Not sure.
I did this too. Some drone called once asking to speak to my wife, Rebekah. In my very masculine voice (not drunk though) I said, "this is her". The drone pauses for a second and says "O. K., Rebekah I am calling from blah blah blah..."
I simply interupted him after a few seconds and told him to take me off his call list.
Yes, we all know IBM's IDE drives are shitty now,

Porn Star names would be interesting.
Imagine telling your co-workers: "I have to stay late and work on JuliaParton tonight."

GWB, "I prefer inovation over legislation."

I would like to know why they didn't submit comments either. How about Alan Cox? Matthew Szulik (Red Hat CEO)?
A department with limited resources and answering to elected politicians will tend to focus on political hot topics.
You're forgetting about this incident: Fed Raids Software Pirates in 27 Cities.
The article says that his wife found evidence of Internet gambling on his computer. They suspect that he may have had gambling debts.

This is how I realized I lost my geekly honors:
1) Having to tell my friends that I can only play 2 hours during their all day LAN party because I have to help the wife take care of our newborn.
2) Discussions of trading in my Wrangler because "it's impractical now."

C64. Ever heard of the It boosts the 64K/1Mhz C64 to 16MB/20Mhz!
Yes, I am replying to my own article but I wanted to add The Register's take:

Or maybe they'll just mod Marconi's first post message down as "redundant".

Is this blatently allowed? Remember when Rambus was reprimanded for "Judge Shopping".
I want to be sued too... Here is my link to your link.
Check out the November '01 archives at www.3dnow.net for many reviews of KT266A mainboards and some nForce stuff.
Some links from 3DNOW that I will highlight:

3Dnow.net links to the article at: http://www.theinquirer.net/19100103.htm that states that VIA denies this. Gotta love the opening paragraph.
If aliens ever invaded then it would be too easy for them to take out our power grid.

I have seen X10's stuff, but have vowed off their product ever since they started pushing pop-ups all over the place.
