That's not necessarily true. Both the Republican and Democratic parties attempt to appeal to the centrist votes. That's why the votes are almost always 50/50 split. Any new political party that can cover the centrist issues, without declaring themselves of a left/right orientation, would steal votes from both existing parties.
There are disaffected members of both political persuasions, and 3rd party could do rather well in this circumstance. They just can't be more left or right compared to the existing parties.

Get password files off that computer, and get them onto your computer, and run a brute force cracking app against it when you get desperate.
Then try variants of the passwords that you do know. So if the password is "elephant", try "Elephant", "ElephanT", "3l3ph4nt", "3l3ph4nT" in other cases.
If you can get into his email, you can probably get the passwords for accounts like MySpace by doing the "I Forgot my Password" option...

This whole regulation setup of the ISPs isn't going to make Internet any cheaper. Bell will always have the ability to undercut their competition that they're forced to lease the lines to. These other ISPs may offer other services that people want to pay extra for, but in the end, most people don't care to have email still with YourLocalISP and will just get the amount of internet that suits their need and is the cheapest.
What should be done instead --- muhahaha --- is that the cable companies should be forced to lease their lines as well to YourLocalISP.

Sure, GaN lasers and LEDs have been around longer than that, but to even file the lawsuit, she would probably need to start getting those devices under SEMs and examining their architecture. I imagine there are some retired professors out there that have their own lab in their basement, but there's a good chance she doesn't have a class 10000 clean room in her basement with accompanying SEM. Yes, back scratching is always an option, but that takes time - it's other people's equipment you're trying to get access to.
