Since HP has open sourced webOS (or in the works anyways), that would be a great platform for Samsung to build on, to piss off Google, Apple, and Microsoft...
besides the point the OS should all run UTC, most do not. Then all the Java apps with each having its own bin/java. requires some real testing on multi-tiered client server applications, that a lot of manufacturing centers rely on.
iTunes works fine on Vista. I've been beta testing Vista since build 5270, and each time I reloaded, iTunes on Vista worked fine for me, and my iPod. Thats my experience, yours may vary...
After running my own after hours PC 'repair' business the last two years, I would recommend this approach to anyone.
See your local and state government websites for information on making it legal and what to do for tax collection.
Good Luck!
UNIX Desktop Usability... well I don't think Grandma will be purchasing hardware that comes with UNIX on it... maybe hip Grandma Caryle would buy a Linux box, but not likely UNIX. Sun desktop hardware is too expensive for normal personal use. So that limits our audience to just technical folk, whether that be a designer or engineer, but some type of role that requires skills or wits (one would hope;)).
Personally, I still really like CDE. It's been my primary desktop for 10 years. Writing dtksh scripts is easy, and lots of documentation on how to do it when you want to add another bell or whistle. Configuration is drag-n-drop or editing the config file, your choice. I can move my CDE desktop from my HP-UX workstation to my AIX, and to my Solaris box without having to edit anything, and it just works. I haven't tried it on my Linux box, but I will now...
Of course people around/. would say its a dead interface.
i don't understand why anyone listens to him. ok, well i guess some people have to listen to him, or read his drivel. but why would people take heed of what he says? i mean, how many more times can he say the pc is dead? isn't he like the bsd trolls?
... although HP has changed it slightly now, to get the advanced certification labeled 'Certified Systems Engineer', I took a two-day, hands-on lab building clusters and troubleshooting proctor induced issues, with no feedback until the end of the two days. If you passed that test, my employer (and their clients) knew you were competent.
Now, HP has split it into a regular type test and a simulation lab. That pisses me off, as that seems easier to pass... making my certification mean less...
depending on design of the robot, it may have more than one running CPU (one system to deal with movement, another to AI) which could increase the licensing cost of each robot... proprietary OS' that charge per CPU would eat more of your budget...
Jonathan is complaining about IBM not _supporting_ those products in Solaris 10, not whether the run on Solaris 10 or not, I'm pretty sure they do.
If I were IBM, I would not publicly support a competitor's beta product either.

I mean really, no one would give them a whole freaking channel otherwise. Any clown can see their current (not original TechTV shows) shows are total shit./rant
What level 7 is this year, maybe a level 3 next.
the definitions would either have to keep changing, or level definitions keep increasing. or both...
say we have: 2004 level 5
next year, a pc manufacturer puts out same hardware, but rated 2005 level 3.
sounds way too complicated, and too easy to perverse...
... I have my hands on the install media, while reading the license it comes with.
Sun says _many_ things. They rarely follow through, and when they do, it always falls short.

Reminds me of this classic --> http://www.geekchic.com/
... is the WINEGARD SS-2000 16" Square Shooter HDTV Antenna. It looks a lot better, and comes with its own mounting equipment. Can also be mounted on existing satellite antennas.
don't forget to destroy the media afterwards!
Here it is
You need to have the correct haircut.
The more pointy, the better.
For examples, see 'The Boss'.
I actually laughed out loud ... awesome comment!

i disagree. keeping linux free from FUD, *helps* _their_ bottom line. Always remember, IBM is in business to make money.
