    (EUR 29.90/month for 5 hours call time any network any time, unlimited sms and 500MB of internet usage per month with no minimum contract period).

    Holy shit - they're making you pay through the nose over there...

    Here in Austria, my provider (bob) either takes 4 cents per minute and SMS and no monthly fee and no minimum contract period, or you pay 8.80 EUR/month flat for 1000 minutes and 1000 SMS and the regular fee for anything beyond that.

    Plus it's 4 EUR per GB (rounded up, i.e. it's 4 EUR steps) per month...

    Yeah, it's from Super Mario World, i.e. the SNES - and on the SNES "Sprites can be 8 × 8, 16 × 16, 32 × 32, or 64 × 64 pixels, each using one of eight 16-color palettes", which would make the dolphin a 4-bit sprite.

    Surprising as it may be, Sony Ericsson even put up a site with step-by-step instructions to unlock the boot loader on their new Xperia phones (well, and having you check off a box that you acknowledge that this might void your warranty) and also put up instructions how to build a kernel and flash it to your phone:

    Hate to break it to you cowboy, but out of over 60 keyboard layouts the only ones with a and y anywhere near each other are the Bulgarian and Ukrainian.

    I also hate to break it to you but there's keyboard layouts beyond QWERTY out there, like QWERTZ - German, Hungarian, Swiss, Bosnian, Croatian and Slovene layouts make mistyping an A for a Y a breeze...

    The more I keep reading about phone plans on /. the more I'm convinced Austria is the only country in the world that has sensible mobile plans.

    I'm paying 0.04 EUR a minute calling anywhere in Austria, 0.04 EUR per SMS and 4 EUR for each started gigabyte each month, with no base fee and an option to pay 8.80 EUR a month for 1000 minutes of talking and 1000 SMS - if I were to turn my phone off for a month I wouldn't be paying anything...

    Buy the game, and play it on the open source engine. Just like Doom, Freespace II, Ultima 7, Star Control 2, and many, many other games.

    While I totally agree with you - the assets for Star Control 2 were actually released alongside the code, that's why you can download them from SourceForge...

    I know I'm going to regret answering to an obvious troll, but anyway...

    That "stupid Russian pirate-software selling site" is actually in Poland, and it's operated by CD Projekt, the developers and publishers of "The Witcher" - and everything they sell on their site (it's called "Good Old Games" for a reason) is legit.

    Also, it's taking pre-orders for "The Witcher 2" (sans DRM and everything) so they actually can and do sell (some) new games...

    But yeah - next.
