Depends on how smashed up the phone was - after a good police trampling I wouldn't be surprised if the battery was already missing and the sd card slot was bent...
(EUR 29.90/month for 5 hours call time any network any time, unlimited sms and 500MB of internet usage per month with no minimum contract period).
Holy shit - they're making you pay through the nose over there...
Here in Austria, my provider (bob) either takes 4 cents per minute and SMS and no monthly fee and no minimum contract period, or you pay 8.80 EUR/month flat for 1000 minutes and 1000 SMS and the regular fee for anything beyond that.
Plus it's 4 EUR per GB (rounded up, i.e. it's 4 EUR steps) per month...

Yeah, it's from Super Mario World, i.e. the SNES - and on the SNES "Sprites can be 8 × 8, 16 × 16, 32 × 32, or 64 × 64 pixels, each using one of eight 16-color palettes", which would make the dolphin a 4-bit sprite.
Surprising as it may be, Sony Ericsson even put up a site with step-by-step instructions to unlock the boot loader on their new Xperia phones (well, and having you check off a box that you acknowledge that this might void your warranty) and also put up instructions how to build a kernel and flash it to your phone:
Except, of course, that Valve know exactly if the user with that Steam ID has indeed bought Garry's Mod or not if the ID is getting reported in the error code...
Hate to break it to you cowboy, but out of over 60 keyboard layouts the only ones with a and y anywhere near each other are the Bulgarian and Ukrainian.
I also hate to break it to you but there's keyboard layouts beyond QWERTY out there, like QWERTZ - German, Hungarian, Swiss, Bosnian, Croatian and Slovene layouts make mistyping an A for a Y a breeze...
The more I keep reading about phone plans on/. the more I'm convinced Austria is the only country in the world that has sensible mobile plans.
I'm paying 0.04 EUR a minute calling anywhere in Austria, 0.04 EUR per SMS and 4 EUR for each started gigabyte each month, with no base fee and an option to pay 8.80 EUR a month for 1000 minutes of talking and 1000 SMS - if I were to turn my phone off for a month I wouldn't be paying anything...
Buy the game, and play it on the open source engine. Just like Doom, Freespace II, Ultima 7, Star Control 2, and many, many other games.
While I totally agree with you - the assets for Star Control 2 were actually released alongside the code, that's why you can download them from SourceForge...
I know I'm going to regret answering to an obvious troll, but anyway...
That "stupid Russian pirate-software selling site" is actually in Poland, and it's operated by CD Projekt, the developers and publishers of "The Witcher" - and everything they sell on their site (it's called "Good Old Games" for a reason) is legit.
Also, it's taking pre-orders for "The Witcher 2" (sans DRM and everything) so they actually can and do sell (some) new games...
It works in Austria. Sers Oida.
FTFY
FTFY.
I once heard 'Mr. Java' talk about how Oak was going to run on television remote controls and make them better.
Well, if it weren't for Android I'm pretty sure we still wouldn't have Java-based TV remotes...
I didn't know you could type your own rating into the /. rating dropdown lists; if not it's no combo box but just a plain old dropdown list.
Contrary to popular belief Slashdot's editors at least pretend to have a pulse, as opposed to the late Roland...
Tim Exile at least does his thing without infring^wreferencing prior art... :)

Why yes, they are...
Now if only all those manufacturers also put some work into retroactively unlocking existing, non-future phones... *sigh*

Answer: "Duke Nukem goes gold."
What is: "Headlines we'll never see?"
This joke was funny up until yesterday. :(
Welp, it's official - Duke Nukem Forever has been demoted from "Comedy Gold" to just "Gold".
Way to ruin a classic joke... :(
