The only problem is the jitterbug isn't a model you can buy (itself based on some Samsung phone iirc) and use on any service but rather an overpriced prepaid service (and I'm not against prepaid).
If you lived in Europe instead you could just get a phone from Emporia, slap in any SIM card you want and be done with it...
So the kind of phone the article talks about isn't exactly news here.
If you are already sporting an Android phone (where the phone costs ~$200 and the price per month is ~$70 - $120), you can afford a $1.00 app.
While I agree that just about anyone with a (non-stolen) Android phone should be able to cough up a dollar for an app - is it just me, or are American cell phone users getting hugely shafted here?
I've got a Motorola Milestone from Amazon without any plan tied to it, and I'm paying 0.04 EUR per minute or SMS and 4 EUR per (started) GB of data, with no monthly fee...
Considering that you need a machine/chipset that does AMT to do this upgrade (not to mention an OEM processor you're not likely to get sold on the market) it's probably not something the regular home user is going to have to worry about. Yet.
Well, it just took me a whopping 8 minutes at 3.5MB/sec max to download those 2GB here in Austria - sure, it's 2 in the morning, but then again installing a bunch of games (15-20GB) some weeks ago during the day was chugging along at 2-3MB/sec also...
They don't have to do that either. All they have to do is paraphrase them. Surely Google, with their language tools, can do this in an automated fashion? I see why you would want them to select the nuclear option but I think this way makes more sense.
Meh... just pipe them through Google Translate(TM) going from English to Pig Latin. Problem solved.
Still, if he wants the viruses inside him so bad I'd go for shoving a USB drive full of viruses up his rectum - bonus points if he uses a 3 1/2" hard drive instead.
Which part of "sh test.sh" is so hard to understand? And yes, that works just fine on my Debian Testing box without the execute bit being set, just as expected...
Ahem... as much as I like Duke Nukem - 49.99 USD seems a tiiiny bit overpriced by now...

It took maybe 15 minutes to fill out the form at city hall, and that was maybe 10 years ago...

See you Space cowboy - in court!
I hate them both.

Too late, Charlaine Harris already did...
np: The Fall - I'm Into CB (Rebellious Jukebox Volume 3 (Disc 1))
Of course that's a quote from an article that's already three months old as opposed to this current story...
Or you could get a non-proprietary like any Android phone NOT sold by the carrier directly.
At least that's how it works here in Europe; dunno if the US has caught up with the times yet - do you still have no SIM cards?

Lets not be shortsighted.
Easy - with that much porn you're sure to go blind before long anyway...

GIMP has undo + redo functions; they're pretty easy to find. What it's missing are straightforward straight-line and square/rectangle/circle tools.
Okay, granted - the stroke command does some icky circles due to it's 1 pixel steps, but what is wrong with drawing lines with the brush tools?
Click on the starting point, hold down shift, click on the ending point - BAM! Line! Whyever would I need an extra tool to do that?
np: MF Doom - Gazzillion Ear (Doom!)
But then again a passcard is something external.
