In the Australian design, a higher current plug can't plug into a lower-current socket, but a lower-current plug *can* plug into a higher current socket. Which only makes sense.
I'm no electrician, but how is this remotely sensible? Either allow both directions or neither. At least that's sensible. Allowing one direction only doesn't make any sense to me.
It's not dueling egos. For there to be a duel, Linus would actually have to care about Theo and his opinions.
Theo seems to have the idea that if security isn't your priority that you are a waste of resources and shouldn't be alive. He basically bashes anyone who doesn't agree with him on anything.
If they admitted to it and if the laptop was a personal item, I'd make them pay. You can bet your job that they'd do the same if you dented their laptop.
I used virtualization at home, with VMware, before VMware had an Enterprise product. I was a beta-tester and user of the original VMware Workstation product for Linux.
Walking into a room and locking the door isn't being "locked in". Apple has not pulled a bait-and-switch. Everyone is free to know exactly what they are buying before they do so. There's absolutely nothing morally wrong about what Apple has done.
Amazon did actually have qualms about allowing a publisher's mistake to become the customer's problem. Yes, their initial reaction was poor, but they did actually replace every copy that they had removed. That doesn't sound "qualmless" [sic] to me.
and makes it nearly impossible to install the OS (or first boot) a mac without buying.mac.
I have to experience with the former statements, but this is utter crap. I have installed 2 different releases on my Macbook, and never once did I see more than an ad for.Mac during the install. I was never prompted to create an account. It certainly never hindered my ability to book my machine.

The problem he ran into was his own limited intelligence. A blind monkey could figure out how to activate an iTunes gift card.
And what makes an utter piece of unusable crap "superior"? If you only consider features, maybe you have a point. But then you are completely ignoring the GP's point, which is that for most people usability is the true measure of superiority.
The PC won because it started with business and because competition drove the prices into the basement.
On the flipside, Apple's prices for the iPhone are in line with all other smartphone prices and each iteration of the OS has included more business-friendly options and features.
It's ridiculous to incentivize marriage, for straight or gay people.
A stable marriage leads to a stable family, and it moves up from there. It is absolutely beneficial to society to "incentivize" marriage because it leads to a more stable society.
There is also no legal reason he has to perform ANY marriage. Ever.
He may be a racist bigot, but at least he stands on his own principles.
To bring this more on-topic: if I were a JotP, I would refuse to perform marriages for gay couples. I don't believe the State need recognize any rights for a union that cannot create a biological family, even in theory. (I know that not all heterosexual couples can or even want to have children, but the law is not about individual cases.)
It also looks like you're an idiot. The difference is, of course, that you actually are.

That's because he's a fucking asshole.
Shame there's no mod option for (-5, Stupid Ignoramus)

Apple most definitely does sell OS X. You seem to rather ignorant.

Umm, welcome to reality.
That's not CASE. CASE was about translating requirements into code without human involvement. Your examples are all about abstraction and APIs.
But then they wouldn't be able to demonstrate their senseless hatred.

You are all full of hate.
You are fucking piece of shit. And that's being nice.
I own an iPod Touch. I put my own apps on it. I put apps other people wrote on it. Apple doesn't stop me.
You really need to gain some perspective. It might help you smell like something other than shit.
I'm posting this reply from a Macbook running Snow Leopard with GMA950 graphics.

Well, yes, if the Lions are actually playing baseball, that would explain a lot about the Lions. I am not sure what it says about the Cubs, however.
If you don't understand the difference between copying code and implementing an API, I really hope I never use any code written by you.

so they won't consider it important enough to show up at the polls, allowing the "vocal (and bigoted) minority" to disenfranchise them.
Umm, if someone chooses not to vote, they have disenfranchised THEMSELVES.
If you don't understand the difference between a GPS unit and a map, you are too stupid to be allowed to drive.
If I have to buy a car with a built-in GPS unit or have one installed after-market to get GPS in my car, I simply won't buy a new car.
I have a hand-held unit that I take everywhere, especially on trips. If I couldn't use it in rental cars, I'd be very upset.
