The very talented Adam Cadre and Andrew Plotkin have a small hack on making infocom games. It's one of the most precise introductions to a programming language I've ever seen.
The episode of G4TV.com (dumb show name) airing right now has Hal Robins the voice of Dr. Kliener as a guest (and the lady who did Alyx's voice on the phone.) One of the hosts asked about the exspansion pack and while Alyx hadn't heard anything, Hal (who is super weird) says that he has been asked to do more voicework for Valve.
I remember reading that octopi's brains are wired in such a way, that a sort of neural memory implant can be passed onto offspring, such as locations of food, etc. Has anyone heard anything about this or contrary to this?
Now I haven't used java since 2000, but have they fixed the seemingly random garbage collection? I remember seeing a raytraced wolfy3d java demo years back, and garbage collection would make it go to a stand still at random intervals.
Hmm... I've used DVDSP2 and could see doing taht via menus, but not seamless branching in the actual movie. you can have scripts that run at chapter breaks (which cause idle time) but no way to do autoaction (not needint to press enter) buttons. But you say "will" so is this in dvdsp3 or mentioned in upcoming 3.5 or something?
So I want to read the comic, but how long will I have this 2.75$ sitting around? Google searches bring up lots of blog entries but no one else seems to have bit (pun?) yet.
I'm in a class where the teacher is making us post blogs. Not for personal hopes and bitching, but for thoughts on class, questions, and biweekly assignments or mini-reports if you will. Using the nifty free (beer?) movable type software, other classmates and the prof. can leave comments. We've had one assignment and so far, so good. Look here if curious.
as a cheat code. The server is down so I can't compare, but the 1996 n64 Turok game had a pen and ink mode, I believe it was one bit, this sounds greyscaled? Still pretty cool at the time.
Now is there a premiere plugin that automatically Aha's things?

i think its agi not sci, but noteworthy nonetheless that a fan made a professional looking sequal of the same graphical quality (using the same engine no less!) purdy nifty, still have to play it a bit more.
A shame about sierra...ken williams can rot in hell.

If Lucas does an Hubbard on this whole thing.... scientology with the force?!
Actually, looking at the IMDB the word Jedi came from some zen/buddhist thing originally. Hmm. Has it all been a plan? Will there soon be malinourshed people at the skywalker ranch? then onto airports chanting "join us you will!"?!?!?
Bratwurst Orange the band that loves to sing to bacon.
This is good, and hopefull. Remember when nintendo was king? Then sega took a bite out in the 16 bit days, and then sony ruled with the playstation? Now, they are falling flat. This is good, it means there won't be a monopoly. Then again sega is the least profitable company in japan right now, but there games are of much higher quality. As for good games coming out on the ps2, sure, but even the Jaguar got Tempest 2000. Let's just hope the XBox blows up or something. Don't mind me, im tired.

When tape was still a valid media? These were the first demo discs, i guess. You had to dub the record to an audio tape, then use it on your computer. And it never, ever, worked.
I can't miss/. mentioning the contra code. I would like all fellow slashdotters over the age of 18 who don't mind an occassional swear word to listen to 8 Bits of Power a moving filk song about everyones fave 8 bit system. Quite a differant step from Bratwurst Orange's electrical spoken gabber core, but I do play a shopping cart in it, and just try to count the allusions!
eh?
just wondering

Sounds confirmed to me.

kinda popped out of nowhere, no link to his name, etc.

Has anyone found a dvd authoring program that let's you make Dragon Lair style DVDs? Other than 10k$+ solutions like Scenarist?
It was ok. All about the normal mappings. Riddick looks better than doomIII on an ntsc monitor (though hirez doom destroys riddick)

May not be a good game, but it took years for the fairly massive ultima community to find one, and Sierra even released it!
