It matches the original Transformers movie as well. I dunno about you, but for me, the only thing Spike did worth noting was yell "Oh shit!". Not something I'd want to be remembered forever for.
In most touch screens, the best way to use it is to press with your fingernails. Seriously. Lightly press with your fingernails, and the response will be at least 90% dead on. I'm not talking "Lee Press On Nails" length nails, just enough to protrude at least a half millimeter beyond the end of your finger. The keratin is an excellent conductor, and works as well as a PDA stylus in many cases.
Ironic that the most common biological factor that could aid in an electronic interface is the one most people cut to the quick out of sociologically enforced hygiene, despite its minimal worth in a hygienic setting for most people.
Oh, cut the bleeding heart crap, will ya? We've all got our switches, lights, and knobs to deal with, Striker. I mean, down here there are literally hundreds and thousands of blinking, beeping, and flashing lights, blinking and beeping and flashing - they're *flashing* and they're *beeping*. I can't stand it anymore! They're *blinking* and *beeping* and *flashing*! Why doesn't somebody pull the plug!
(this guy must have been hanging out with Buck (William Shatner) Murdoch too long.)
IMO, the show could use just a *pinch* of levity. I mean hell, even Children of Men squeezed in a "Pull my finger" joke to keep it from inducing mass suicides in everyone who watched it.
Meanwhile, BSG has been dark moment after dark moment. You can't tell me that nobody ever does a shaving cream joke on a pilot while he/she's in their rack, that nobody hops into a Viper to find a waiting whoopy cushion, that nobody pranked Tigh by replacing his precious booze with *gasp* water?
I mean, come ON people, just because 9/11 happened in the real world, doesn't mean we don't have to feel guilty to laughing at fantasy now and then, or for that matter, real life.
The SUV so big, it carries a slightly smaller SUV as a spare! You don't park it in a garage, it IS a garage! When you take the kids to school, they'll arrive 5 minutes after you do!
Dunno why this was modded down, it's a perfectly valid question. I always hear about how Solaris is such a neetokeen OS and know people who religiously collect and maintain Sun systems. But frankly, they haven't really given me a convincing reason why. Wasn't meaning to troll or anything, so whoever modded the post down as "overrated" (?!?) is just cutting off anyone who doesn't read below 2 from seeing something that could be perfectly valid, educational, or informative information, just because whoever did the mod decided to take a technical question as, well, a personal insult, somehow.
But what exactly makes Solaris worth using to begin with? What open source or commercial software makes it worth having? What makes it more than just a fringe system? Linux is finally approaching the point where it stands a chance at competing against Windows in the consumer market, does it really need competition from a fairly mainstream corporation?
For that matter, sure, the machines look cool on the outside, but why do so many people consider them worth buying (even models up to 10 years old) today, and for that matter, what makes them worth switching over to? Is it sheer geek chic, or do they actually provide some form of useful function, as opposed to Windows/Mac/Linux's growing trend towards multipurpose multimedia machines?
If we're all going to be jumping at shadows, then why not require everyone stay at home, on the government's tab, in perpetuity until the war on terror is "won"? After all, at any time, any car could have a bomb in it, any person walking down the street could be wearing an explosive vest, and any blinking light could be a potential time bomb (including turn signals, radio dials, and streetlights). So the safest place to be is home. Forever. For freedumb.
Why not do it now? Subways already essentially waste a ton of energy just shoving air back and forth in the tunnels, if they simply reclaimed that wasted energy, they could possibly even lower the cost of fare (though common sense says they'll never do such a thing). Either way, it would still make a difference in cost/consumption.
Milk has had added Vitamin D as long as I can remember, since most people in the US drink milk on a regular basis, why haven't we seen a notable decline?
Remember way back when, about 18 years ago, when they were telling everybody that coconut oils and other tropical oils were bad for you, then recently decided they weren't so bad, compared to the transfats they were putting in everything? Well then, why not use tropical oils? It isn't like they're any worst than the proposed oils mentioned.
We stop trashing the environments where cocoa naturally grows? Chocolate is basically an endangered species due to South American deforestation (Cocoa beans grow primarily in cool, shady settings, and rampant deforestation has also given a foothold to various diseases that cocoa beans are susceptable to). Lets try keeping chocolate sources alive, instead of coming up with new definitions for it?
Or I could just sum it up for you, and save you from having to install anything at all: "OooooOOOooooOooOoooooOOOOOooOOOooooOOOoOoOoooooOO OOooOooOooooooOoOooooOOOoOOooOooOOoOoOooOo"
Any attempts at reverse engineering, however, will be rigorously pursued in court.
True, but as far as I know, when those drives die they don't usually take your files or system with them.
Technically, however, aren't the cooling fans (basically the simplest components in the system) the most critical? If your cooling fans go out, they can take the entire system with them, and then some.
With all the people who'll be dumping their old analog sets, this is where it'll all go (the wire wraps alone would be highly desirable).

"The sponge woks"? Sounds like incredibly ineffective cookware.

No Pink Floyd or Rush? Both have had godlike guitar solos like you'd never believe.

Followed by an animatronic plastic demon that pops up and yells "I'm gonna eat you!". (Mattel, you know who to pay.)

In Gremlins II, where the hero had to jump around and wave his arms to get the building to turn the lights back on.

With a heart rending performance by Jango Fett, singing the classic, "Send in the Clones"!

With all those violent definitions, it has to be the dictionaries that inspire violent acts! Quick, file a lawsuit against Webster!
I for one would be happy to see Jack Thompson in a persistive vegetative state.
I thought that was Windows Vista.

For French Cuisine no doubt.
