    I take umbrage with solar and wind power being called renewable. They aren't. When the sun is used up we won't get another one. When the heat from the sun is gone we won't have any more wind.

    A few months ago I ran across a study about the polarizing effect of internet forums. As I understood the theory, they thought that we all have these black/white ideas, but they're normally moderated by social interaction. Unfortunately the ease and anonymity of internet communcation allows us to express the exremeties of our beliefs without any social cost.

    Nobody ever seems to remember that the NSA falls under the Executive Branch. Congress doesn't have to do squat. There's this one guy who has the authority to tell the NSA "Don't do that," and they're required to stop.
    Clue: He lives in a really big house with a boring paint job.

    In 1943 it probably cost a few hundred thousand $ to build - if that.

    Today's "updates" will cost $4.3 billion, be obsolete 6 months before completed, take 6 years, be the subject of multiple disciplinary hearings, congressional investigations and DOJ corruption probes, won't work, then ultimately will be outsourced to China for completion prior to being abandoned for a new technology.

    Of course it will work. It was built for WWII. They made that stuff so you couldn't screw it up. There were still four Iowa class battlships active in the '90s.

    So, is it your assumption that size is directly responsible for the malware? Why can't a large hosting company also institute the best protection mechanisms to reduce their malware content? GoDaddy I can see not giving a crap, but Amazon should do some proper management to reduce this problem.

    Do you realize how much business they would lose if they did that?
    You can't just kick off all your best customers.

    I remember the oudtoor mags running photos of a bass snagging a small bird in the '70s. Maybe it's a first in Africa or something, but it's old news on this continent.
    I've personally seen a bass come out of the water to grab a spinnerbait while it's still in the air.

    While I don't condone their capturing of this data it's really easy to see what they would do with it. Think about it - you make and sell cars, you have a gigantic database that you can mine to see exactly how, when, and where individual people drive their cars; the design and marketing potential is staggering.

    You may not know this, but Yellowstone is largely in a state called Wyoming.

    You may not know this, but the Yellowstone volcano complex has a history of massively explosive eruptions, not just pouring out lava. The Lava Creek ash bed from the explosion 630,000 years ago extends to the Gulf of Mexico and is as much as 4m thick in places like New Mexico and Kansas.

    You forgot "treason". That's the other word for acts against the Constitution.

    Snowden's job was to incite outrage, soon after which the public would grow tired of outrage, settle down, and learn to get used to business as usual.

    If you want to bend over and getting the shaft, hey, please do it privately.

    I'd wager that there won't be too many people like you, happy to be "shagged" by NSA (or any other spooks)

    You'd lose that wager. There are definitely too many.
    Spend 30 seconds on Facebook or Twitter to see how concerned people are about their privacy. As long as they can keep publicly posting their most intimate details they don't care what the NSA does.

    If it's done right (probably not) this is what trucks need to be. Rust is one of the biggest killers of working trucks so a well-built aluminum truck would be a godsend.
