"Why not, for example, a space exploration game -- concentrating on the science, economics, and logistics involved, instead of the usual shoot-the-evil-green-aliens theme?"
I use Outlook, but I would gladly switch to something like Thunderbird if it wasn't for ms-exchange which is vital here at work as in many workplaces.. There aren't (yet) any good enterprise alternatives to exchange..
Same here in Iceland, I don't even know how banks look like on the inside anymore. The Internet banking services here rule! I pay all my bills online and never see a shreed of paper..
Also don't see any checkbooks here anymore.. almost no cash.. Everybody uses debit and kredit cards and everybody accepts them..
I really don't know what you are talking about when you say that voice quality on cellular isn't nearly what it is on a landline..
Gsm cellphones have voice quality that equals landline.. Maybe you are talking about the old nmt cellphones which had really bad quality but a lot better range..
My only phone for the last 3 years has been gsm cellphone (like probably 30% of the population here in Iceland.. the rest has both..)
"wohoo_gnu_is_great does not avoid taurine because it is in meat, but because the taurine in Red Bull is won from meat. This meat is won from animals"
Read the bloody article! It does say that taurine is found in animals (including humans), because it is essential to life, but it specificly mentions that the taurine in red bull is synthesized (as in made in a laboratory).
It probably would be kind of stupid to try to produce taurine from dead cows because from each 10000 cows you would not get more of taurine than only enaugh for like 5 cans of red bull (I'm only guessing, but I really think that's pretty much the case)
I don't know how it is in other european countries, but here in Iceland the eletronics/entertainment shops found out some time ago that people don't want players with region control, so all the shops are advertising region free players, and by result, 80percent of the players in use here are region free..
peoples choice..

You never heard of multitasking?
For some, even Abiword is an overkill. Try Atlantis Nova (only 760 KB!!)
"Showing off about how much you earn is a bad idea. You'll always find out that you're not so well off after all"

Is there any reason you couldn't just use it as an ftp server og direct connect download comp. or whatever?
And just make some dummy script which browses some webpages for 30minutes per day?
Well maybe it's important.. but I think THE mouse is the most important reason why the consoles haven't taken over..
Sounds like frontpage code rather than dreamweaver..
