People used to think that robots, not computers would be common place in the future like in Star Wars (I know it's the distant past in a galaxy far, far... anyway). A few years ago I thought we would have a more Star Trek-type future where computers are integrated into everything and robots wouldn't be so common. Now I believe that is changing. On/. I keep reading about more and more robots as well as computers. On TechTV they seem to always show something about robots, be it on TechLive or that awful Robot Wars (come on, that whole robot fighting fad is sooo two years ago). I think the reason for this change is better, cheaper technology. Anyone can waltz down to the RadioShack, among other outlets, and pick up parts for one. Building a robot 5-10 years ago would result in something along the intelligence of a RoboSweep--not really worth the effort. I think robots will have a larger role in the future than I thought--Good luck Airforce, good luck iRobot (the makers of the Roomba vacuum cleaner).
I thought the movie was all around awesome, but for one scene which truely arises the Matrix-in-a-Matrix, cop-out type ending is where the crew is evacuating the Nebuchadnezzar and they're being chased by Sentinels and Neo stops them like he stops bullets in the Matrix.
Ever since they announced the Matrix sequels I said to myself and friends, "I'll shoot myself in the head if it turns out that they are still in the Matrix." But I followed that up with, "But that would be a stupid cop-out ending and will never happen."
I'm really interested in finding out how they are going to explain how Neo did that. Maybe he has some type of symbiotic bond with the Matrix.;P
Possible Matrix-in-Matrix endings: 13th floor ending where a simulation creates a simulation. They never left the matrix in the first place, the "real world" was created by the machines to give the illusion of freedom.
I really hope the actual ending blows my mind OR the human race is SAVED, YAY!
Hah, this reminded me of the days of ircnews.com... when it was a BS news site like the onion because this/. post sounds like an IRCnews.com story. Now ircnews.com is actual IRC news...
After seeing the first Matrix, I'm sure you felt blown away like I did. Later on, I wanted to know what happens next, is humanity doomed forever to be traped in a prison? This is what the next two movies are about... Yeah, there's going to be a lot of action in this one because action is required for the salvation of humanity. The newness has worn off, now it's time for fighting not thinking, maybe in Revolutions there will be more philosophical material, I don't know, maybe the ending to the series is that they find out they're in another Matrix! Whoa. (If it is, I'll shoot myself in the head.) I cannot wait for Reloaded... it's going to kick ass as the review said. Maybe one can think of the sequels as Men In Black II, nothing new was discovered, they had already introduced their secret organization. What are they going to do, introduce another one? I don't care, The Matrix series is my Star Wars.
Morpheus: The Sims is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around. What do you see. Business men, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a Sim, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to quit the program. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the Sims that they will fight to protect it. Were you listening to me Neo, or were you looking at the Sim in the red dress?
Interesting, you're right... but this may not be of Apple's doing, there could be some legal reasons like this song maybe part of acompilation CD like one of those billions of NOW CDs and it might hurt their sales, OR the label may have placed restrictions on popular songs and limits Apple on how they can sell it. Then again, it could be all Apple.
I don't know, just my guess. Apple needs to resolve this or it will severly hurt the success of the service:\
Yeah, the same thing happened to me when I got my rev b iMac... but it was just a couple of weeks later when Apple updated them to the multi-colored iMacs. The lesson I learned: if an Apple product is more than 6 months old, wait for the update.
I'd like to see them emulate the next XBox when they use PPC!!!
(yeah, i know they eventually will).
Agreed. The article only explains common scence.
Nothing is truly free.
True and false, right and wrong, yes and no, ping and pong... nothing else! Anything else would be false.
We are the Friendster Collective. You will be assimilated. Unfriendliness is futile.
Still no anti-matter engine...
but until then this seems promising...
Ya know, what if Jesus is back and they delete the real Jesus's account... that wouldn't be very nice. Although I don't think it's a sin.... hmmm...
I wonder how big his personal network is...

This is probably redundant, but you're not going to catch me driving that thing...
I can see Amazon patenting 0-click technology with this...
But a copy of the content on the DVD won't expire. *WINK* *WINK*

I don't know... need to study for finals... ACK!

So, how much you give for computer like this?
>> I don't know $20?
Oh come on! This is expensive computer the fastest in the world.
>> $35
Oh this is ridiculous! It's a good computer, it's an Apple!
>> It doesn't look like an Apple computer...
It's Apple-like.
>> What do you mean?
Its got Apple guts, ya know?

Yeah, but my iBook is the one who is jealous... I'm still happy with it ;)
Yeah, but it wouldn't be multi-buttoned... because Apple knows we cannot wrap our minds around more than one button...
Now I can get motion sickness from watching the Matrix too!
My 500Mhz iBook is jealous.
Well, I'm off to eBay to sell my Palm m500...
But by the time I could afford one, Apple would have the G10.
Once you've found a good naming scheme, stick with it!

I think the *.6 or the *.5.1 version usually get it right--not *.5. I'm sorry, I'll be waiting for those versions before I upgrade my Internet.
